Dude, I tried him again last week with Void burn. I had my Spear ascended and we had another ascended Praedth’s Revenge. But I guess the third guy didn’t get the memo and when we were laying out our strategy I was like, we all have 365 Void snipers yeah? And all he had was a 300 Praedyth’s. Needless to say, we didn’t beat him.
Of course, last night we just torched him with three Ghorns. I had two Elder Ciphers drop, which I think might be a glitch. I think I’m going to go after the Bow.
I Fist of Havoc’d a few Titan bubbles during Iron Banner. On Mars, this one Defender saw me and my team from across the corridor, popped the bubble, and stood there like he was safe. I sprinted towards him and FOH’d. Probably the most satisfying kill I’ve had in Destiny PVP.
I wish I had the Bow. I would just post up in the Cosmodrome and shoot at the feet of low level Guardians all day lmao
By far the biggest liability regarding Defenders in PvP isn’t their vulnerability, it’s their teammates who stick around in or near the bubble. Get your blessing/armor/weapons buff and GET AWAY FROM THE BUBBLE! Defenders are supposed to be annoying jerks, but if the Defender’s team makes a Slayer medal opportunity pop up, then the Defender is dead weight.
On the other hand, opposing teams not armed with the proper knowledge circling the bubble are quite hilarious. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen entire teams lined up outside of a bubble, just to see them march in one by one to get shot-fisted.
Not necessarily true, sometimes the best approach is to bubble just before the point so everyone can get whatever buff is present and let them take the point while acting as a deterrent.
Last week during IB, one of my teammates put a bubble on B at Shores of Time on Venus. Then an opponent placed one right in front of ours. All our teammates got in our bubble and started dancing, and their whole team got in theirs and started dancing. We were all laughing or assess off at the impromptu dance party.
Congrats on having a team that went B on that map! I’ve heard the legends of matchmade Crucible teams that go for B on that map. I’ve experienced it maybe less than ten times total.
Controlling B and C on Maat Mons is how you win that match. I always go straight for B.
It was a premade fireteam of 6 though, so communication wasn’t an issue. It’s been my experience that you will get matched up against other premade groups if you go in with one. The times when we’ve matched up against a bunch of random people who were matchmade usually end up in a slaughter.
I only shard my doubles. No reason to have more than one after the app update. Vault space is tight enough already and after all the nice drops from IB I’m pretty much at crisis level.
Defender Titan is so good. Saint-14 helm and spawning orbs from your super and people attacking your bubble is so so good. It’s the perfect support role and you can turn the tide of a match in no time. I dunno, I don’t see any class lacking in PvP, you just have to change your playstyle per class.
Ah yes, the shores of time. You spawn closer to B, but the team always goes for the death trap that is the A flag. Maybe you’ll get lucky and start on C side, but there’s always that guy who goes for A if B is contested. Don’t be that guy.
If I am quick enough on the draw with the extension, I will drop a MIDA into my inventory and book it for B as soon as I can. I’m usually by myself and get only 1-3 kills and half-cap the point before I get overrun. The times I’ve had people follow me or that I’ve followed others to B, it’s worked out very well. I love anti-sniping C jungle and the hills in the corner. Trying to contest the C-side heavy is hard with no communication, though.
P.S. - Re: Bubbles v. Nova Bomb, I switched from Lance to Vortex on my bombs just because you can pop the bubble and get several kills on groups within the bubble without putting yourself at risk. I used to disregard Vortex variations of the bomb and the grenade, but slowly I am finding cool uses for them.
If your team goes for A on that map, just leave the lobby and join a new one, I am not even kidding. That cave is a fucking death trap, the few times I have got to play with a party we all skip A, even if we spawn right by it. I would rather spawn who the fuck knows where than that death cave.
Again tonight I am up for VOG and or Crota on hard tonight.
i fucking cannot stand shores of time for that very reason, everyone i play it always goes for A, its so fucking stupid, what makes it worse is its so easy for the enemy team to spawn camp A, that map is so unbalanced, worst control map ever.
Blind Watch is worse. If you spawn on A you’re done.
I can’t stand when my team is controlling B & C but for whatever reason try to take A. B&C are close, easy to defend and have a heavy spawn right in the middle. I literally stay in one small area the entire match and defend both points.
Depends. I used my first E light to get my Titan to level 34. After that, I just waited until the right armor came into rotation to get the other two characters up and used the rest of the E light on weapons. If you can get one character to level 34 it’ll make doing the higher level PoE much more manageable and you can get more armor cores and E light from them. So I’d recommend getting one character to 34 so you can do the higher level content.
