For sure. Really want to open that loot chest tonight and get some better armor. I’ve been hoarding all my upgrade materials for when I finally get some armor worth upgrading. It be great to go through PoE with non randoms.

Haven’t touched this game in months and I don’t feel like going back unless theres some new OP weapon that is on the level of the Gjallarhorn. So is there any DLC weapon thats worth grinding for?

I got a New Monarchy shader. Finally, after 9 months, a red shader lol. It’s no God of War, but I’ll take it.
Went 4-3 on my first Trials card. I was too excited and forgot to buy the buffs though, whoops. I played well. I went with the Red Death to counter the Thorn’s DoT. The thorn is everywhere. Might switch to the Last Word tomorrow. I got some armor as drops but they are not max light.
I went bladedancer Hunter, but I think Gunslinger is better for Trials.
I did 32 POE yesterday, I don’t think you’ll be able to finish it.
So for someone who is relatively new to the game, my character is leveled nicely, I’m at 31 right now, right at the cusp of 32, but my weapons are VERY lacking. I have one exotic the thunder lord machine gun, quite a few legendaries but none of the ones I see all over crucible. The thorn, vex mythoclast, invective, and any number of shotguns that I get wrecked by. What would you suggest I start looking for and where to get it.
I favor pulse rifles, I’ve been using fusion rifles as my special, it I see they are meh at pvp due to charge time, don’t really have a preference on heavy weapon.
For regular cruicble(not Iron Banner and Trials), you dont have to use legendaries and exotics. A lot of Blues are useful too, they just need the right perks.
If you still have the Strangers Rifle, it’s pretty good for pvp.
As for what perks to look for-
Pulse Rifles:
Head Seeker, Speed Reload, Snap Shot, Perfect Balance. Hidden Hand.
Hand Canons: The three exotics dominate this class for pvp.
Shotguns:
Shot Package/Rangefinder, Hammer Forged, Final Round, Knee Pads
Snipers:
Shortgaze Scope, Final Round, Mulligan, Performance Bonus, Snapshot, Armor Piercing rounds, Firefly, speed reload.
Rockets:
Grenades and Horseshoes, Tripod, Field Scout, Heavy Payload. (you can get all those perks on one rocket launcher btw)
LMG: For pvp, look for lmg’s that have High Impact and low Rate of Fire
Crowd Control, Field Scout, Speed Reload, Perfect Balance.
A lot of the Vault of Glass weapons are good in pvp. Found Verdict, Preydeths Revenge, Preydeths Timepiece, Corrective Measure.
Fuck all that noise if you want to dominate at PVP it is super simple use, Thorn, Last Word, Red Death, Truth or Invective.
Unfortunately, getting those weapons isn’t always super simple. Someone with lacking weapons will need to look over any blues or purples they get before they shard them. Having good legendaries to back up those exotics is important too.
Getting a thorn or invective is pretty easy and Last Word is on Xur.
After doing research, the invective and thorn are obtained by a super involved quest that I don’t know how to obtain. I also see that it requires quite a bit of time in pvp getting certain kills or kill death ratio. This complicates my problem since everyone in pvp already has stronger weapons, making my role on a team largely to sit back, not die, and try to have a positive kill death ratio. As nice as that sounds, it doesn’t happen all that often. Very frustrating when I’m lighting somebody up and then they are able to trade kills with me by hitting me once or twice with one of the aforementioned OP weapons.
You get quests for both just by doing regular bounties, they get handed to you after a certain unspecified time. Run weeklies on 32 as well as you will get 9 strange coins for every char you run the weekly on and have a chance of getting a good weapon off Xur.
If you’re going for an exotic weapon bounty, stock up on either Vanguard, Eris, or Crucible bounties (Vanguard is probably easiest) and turn in a stack of 5-10 all at once. The exotic bounties are RNG, but I’ve noticed that turning in a ton of regular bounties at the same time usually triggers them.
If you like pulse rifles, go for Toland’s Legacy and get Bad JuJu. It’s probably the easiest bounty for a primary because in the pvp part deaths don’t count against you.
Thinking about picking this up, since its on sale at TRU for 20 bucks. Can you play it without buying the DLC? Just wanna make sure before I take the plunge.
