So I’m guessing Treasure Keys are not guaranteed drops in PoE, despite what I’ve read saying that they will drop once per event per week. I did the level 28 and 32 PoE and didn’t get a key from either (and I didn’t have a key in my inventory during the 32 run).
It seems like they only drop from ether chests during the Wolves events on Patrol and from the two smaller chests in PoE. It might be worth it to grind out the level 28 PoE just for the chance at the small chests. They do have better rewards than ether chests - like more motes of light which are more valuable now for reforging weapons.
Anyone know where else the keys may drop?

32 version isnt that hard. I beat it last night and got 33. Cant wait to run lvl 34 tonight. Trying to get Light level 34!

So far I’m loving House of Wolves. I re-rolled the “Her Right Hand” auto rifle a few times and got a pretty nice setup. Vestige Dynasty sidearm is awesome. The DPS just feels beastly.
I really want that new exotic Hunter helmet. It reduces shots on Golden Gun to one, but that single shot does 6X damage.
Speaking of supers, I think Arc Blade got a stealth buff - I can actually take down Captains and have some energy leftover now.
Ok, so it seems since we got the first Treasure Key from the story missions, one will not be a guaranteed drop from PoE until the weekly reset. Going forward, we should receive one guaranteed for each character for your first completion per reset.
Also, it seems that exotics are pretty much guaranteed for your first time opening the big chest each week- I got one for each character and from what I’ve read everyone else got an exotic weapon drop from the big chest on their first run, regardless of level. If you use your first treasure key on a higher level mode (34 or 35), you can get a chance at class items and Fallen weapons on top of the exotic roll (I believe only Queen’s legendary weapons have a chance to drop from 28 and 32).
All of this may or may not be completely correct, but it is my understanding that it is. So far…

Two nightfalls down and I get old Exotics while everyone else gets Etheric Light. One last nightfall left. If I dont get any light, I’ll just go into the 34 PoE a level under. At least it’s a guaranteed drop once per week at level 34 and 35.
Bought a ton of the helmet engrams hoping to get the Hunter exotic Celestial Nighthawk… so of course I get the new Warlock and Titan helms instead.
Did my 1st prision of elders at level 34, how boy, that 4 round had us fucked over, all of us were doing it for the 1st time at that level and took it a good amount of time to finish it, but we did it at the end.
I also have 2 nighfalls left, so i hope that i get at least 1 etheric ligh so my goddamn warlock can be 34 by the end of this week.
So I tried Prison of Elders last night with my lvl 28 Warlock and my friend’s level 31 Hunter. It was actually pretty damn fun until we got to the very last Minataur boss, and Destiny’s terrible servers disconnected me from the game. Of course you can’t fucking join back in, even if it’s a friend’s game AND it’s a game you were just in.
5 rounds, a dozen deaths, and over two hours of time. All for fucking nothing.

Got 10 Strange Coins on my last nightfall…sigh. I got The Ram from about 6 Exotic engram tries and nothing else.
Welp, if I can get that Osiris chest piece for my Hunter, then I’ll only need 1 etheric light to reach 34.
I actually could join the game after it kicked me from the game, you just need to be on the area outside the arena to be able to join. It was on the 34 PoE that i did yesterday that i mentioned a post above.

Yeah, you can rejoin. I beat 34 last night, but my friend left and switched to her Titan so we could have an extra bubble for the boss. You have like a five second window to jump back in after the team wipes and it’s on the death screen before spawning you back into the middle room. At least, that’s how we did it.
That boss is fucking tough, but round 4 was a bit harder I thought, with Arc burn and having to leave cover for the mines. I got lucky and got the Etheric Light from nightfall so I got my Titan to 34 in time for Trials of Osiris tonight. Woot!
