Not bad but you are giving up guaranteed damage for a possible mixup (even though it is a pretty neat mixup). I would most definitely not suggest using that for tournament play unless you were possibly going to win the round with the damage difference, and even then probably not.

i think its just another way to make them have to worry about what your doing. the more the mix up the more confusion. and it does only work in the corner so i dont know just play test it

It’s best after a dizzy. If you landed a huge combo into the dizzy then you’re going to want to reset the damage scaling.

well so far ive used it against my brother and his friend in offline matches and i had success against both of them. let me know if anyone else has some luck with it

So how would you guys rate all of Sakura’s matches? I don’t play her, all I can imagine is that she has a lot of trouble with the high health chars in the game. If I were to guess her disadvantage matches I’d say…

Blanka, Honda, Gief, Sagat, Balrog

This actually makes sense, I would def. be messing around with that if I had the game or still played sakura.

Having it work against your brother and friends does not make it a good mixup sadly. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad mixup, just needs testing against tournament level players. The thing about it is that it is not difficult to see, it just comes at a wierd spot. The more you play fighting games, the more you begin to expect mixups at wierd spots as well.

I think I posted Sakura’s matchups a while back. The general gist is, if they have a consistent anti air for your jump ins at any angle, it is difficult (more difficult if they can turn that anti air into huge damage.) That is just the gist though, there are many outliers.

i agree with u 100% ive noticed that it is easy to see but its also not done ever pretty much in one occasion so they wont get use to it easy. and yeah i would like to know how other people r doing with it.

it’s def something to use against scrubs to look flashy, but dizzy continues your combo scaling?

I asked around to some ppl on the best way to counter it and got a lot of shrugs and “with sakura?.. i don’t know…” what’s the best thing to do against repeated dive kicks?

I remember people saying c.LP and hope, could probably EX Shou through them but there’s a chance of him just pinging off you for minimal damage.

standing.Fierce when he jumps will stuff (rarely trade) with Dive Kicks, sometimes if they mess up the distance, Sakura will do far.standing.Fierce which stuffs Dive Kicks completely. :tup:

The problem isn’t Dive Kicks itself, it’s the mixup that comes with it. c.Short, Dive Kick again, Throw, random Messiah =( Also, I like to jump a lot and Benski will catch me with Yomi-j.Roundhouse into ex.Snakes or Ultra =\ Don’t telegraph your jumps like I do and you should be good to go =)

thanks for the pointers. I’m going to see if I can get a lot more games against Rufus and Zangief. but you seem to be on a whole different level on that link than some of your older stuff… that pressure on honda was immense. i can’t wait to get my execute down like you.
