You have 1 frame. I personally only ever did it to hit the stun for a full combo.
i like doin it against gief just to get a free hit and then im away from him again

i dont think so cause the hit stun seems to be long enough. my friend plays gief and gief alone and he hasnt tried it yet but yeah ill see
I was just dicking around the other night with sakura and I found it very easy to buffer dragon punches into her standing lk and crouching mp. I would probably use a good deal of both if I played sakura again, crouching mp can beat out some wierd pokes out there.
i’ve started doing it with st lk but sometimes i dont do it fast enough and i throw out the dp on accident, but i have really tried the cr mp as a poke yet but i’ll try it out for sure, i heard it was a good poke against chun
I like using c.MP to out-poke stuff but it’s usually always inside its range, unlikely using c.MK just outside their feet, so I usually just cancel it into a Hadouken or LK Shunpuu.
s.LK is too quick and I’ll get Shou from negative edge I can’t remember to force myself to hold the buttons down to stop that
You need to hold down the hp button, then release it noticeably later to prevent the negative edge from activating your dp. I am glad some of the rest of you are finding use for this as well.
Sakura’s c.mp works good as a counter poke for really low attacks like shoto c.mk for example, so it’ll probably work well for that.
st.lk I haven’t used much as a counter poke, but I’ll toy around with it and tell you what I get.
I’m thinking it’ll work well as a whiffpunish like zangief c.lk except not as godlike
It’s nice you brought this up Destin, I’ve been meaning to find some application to c.mp and I’ve also been interested in Zangief style c.lk x ex hand for a while.
This’ll probably turn out as a fun experiment, hopefully it turns out to become useful for Sakura as well!
i played a bit of player match today and I was stuffing some of gen’s awkward jumpins with c.mp xx shouoken, thanks destin
so u can option select ex dp, hp dp, and ex tatsu on jump in teleports
I think you might be able to option select another jump.

explain how that works cause im not getting it. if u it up which is the only way to jump, your gonna jump which means if they didnt teleport your screw up the combo. is there something im not getting when u say option select another jump

If dhalsim is not forced to block your attack because he is invunerable, meaning he teleported or backdashed, you can input a jump so it jumps just when you land. If he is there and blocks the attack, your character will still be in air hit freeze, so the jump will not come out.

just a thought here, im not sure if u all know but sakura has a kara throw with fmk, but i wonder if u kara’d hp shou if u could catch blanka’s horizontal ball. that would be nice. could get blankas from stopping to spam ball
I am not sure that the Kara covers more distance than could be covered before walking the distance. Either way it would be very hard as she has a forwards dp k move overlap. Some other forum members mentioned crouch lp, perhaps that can stop it? I haven’t really tried it, I know stand lp doesn’t work.
yeah i tried to kara hp shou and its freakin impossible. my hand dont move that quick lol.
