Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax- My Little Sister Can't Be This Top Tier (PS3/PSV Fall 2014)

Really?! That seems like something you wouldn’t want to share with…anyone. I hope they shot up his waifu pillow when they invaded.

Good. Now those fuckers who complain about anime fighters will have something to really cry about.

I hope Railgun and Club-to-Death Angel Dokuro Chan are in this game.
…and the lesbians from Strawberry Panic.
…and those slutty maids from ladies vs butlers.

on topic: If they add Bayonetta I’m buying the limited edition when it drops on consoles.

also…

Spoiler

so many options http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengeki_Bunko

Has it been confirmed that this is actually a female-only fighter, or are they simply using female characters as a draw for the opening screenshots? It says “VS Sega” on the official site, so I think it’d be a waste for them to limit themselves to a single gender.

Seriously, they cannot miss a chance to put Kazuma Kiryu into a Fighting Game!

Serious question: Out of all of the different media types in Japan, why are visual/light novels the most popular formats to create 2D fighting games out of?

I hope Mikoto gets her terrorist outfit as an alt.

I don’t think they’re the most popular. Pretty sure manga beats them out.

I doubt that this will have much Sega stuff outside of the stages, character cameos and maybe a striker character since the other collaboration games between Dengeki and Sega didnt have much any Sega anything in them. Its mainly a fanservice game to market off Dengeki Bunko’s line of books being around for 20 years. Seems like the game will be for the arcade judging on how theres a place holder for the player to put their name handle (where the NO NAME is above the life bars)

Either way there probably wont be anymore information until the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2013 event on October 6th where they will have playable demos of the game.

Doesn’t seem like anything new, but i’ll give it a shot.

Hey Shana’s in this.

They should add both Asian and Caucasian Blaze as separate characters.

Asian Blaze with the Napalm Police Car Assault, Caucasian Blaze with the Kikoshou and Backflip Kick.

That would be my team.

I wouldn’t lump them together like that. Visual novels and light novels are two very different mediums. The former are games while the latter are actual books.

I’m actually hyped for this game just because of Asuna

Maybe saying “visual AND light novels” would be better semantics, but you know that has nothing to do with the question.

“Visual novels and light novels” would be better semantics, and why one is popular (dating sims that appeal to the NEET/hikkikomori crowd) most likely has nothing to do with why the other is popular (easy reading literature with illustrations).

@GespenstRitter, for the same reason why companies make games about soldiers and marvel/dc on USA there is a guaranteed market for it.
You can make the argument that appealing to said market reduce the chances on countries where said media is not as prominent as there, but i guess that they are banking more on the home sells, tbh i wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t leave japan (sega, niche game by usa standards)

That is not true. More than anything they make fighting games out of existing manga and anime. The rest are original. Hell i cant even think of very many visual and light novel that have fighting games outside of Phantom Breaker, Fate/Unlimited Codes and Aquaplazza and two of those games are crossover fighters containing characters from several different titles

Come on man, Melty Blood’s the biggest VN fighting game.

Big Bang Beat, Ougon Musou Kyoku, Koihime Musou, Twinkle Queen?
As i said, is understandable that doujin circles and small fighting game developer use popular h-visual novels/visual novels/animes/mangas/light novels because they have an already established fanbase.
Is nothing different than all those games done about comics

I specified 2D fighting games. FGs based on manga nowadays tend to be some style of 3D. When was the last manga-based 2D fighter? Bleach DS? And that was because it was a portable game.

Don’t a lot of the most popular light novels tend to have haremy subplots, too?

It’s just the anime/manga/VN/lightnovel/otaku culture in general. The hardcore dudes will eat up everything with their favourite franchises/characters on it. These guys will forgo food and spend every single dime buying that next collectors item that will cost an arm and a leg. So already you’re guaranteed a modest selling title at worst since you can always rely and bank on that crowd.

Also making games off existing franchises is much less riskier than making an entirely new IP of your own, where you don’t necessarily have that fanbase already established to rely on and would need to build it up from scratch instead.

I’m guessing Dengeki saw how well AquaPazza sold and figured, hey we can cash in on the same stuff with our franchises. Titles that are actually pretty hot and more popular than theirs right now. No brainer right?
