I have no idea who any of these characters are, I hate the 3D model backgrounds, I don’t even remember the last time Sega made a first party fighting game, and they’re showing off two chicks with swords which is already giving me a Persona 4 Arena vibe which I can’t say I’m down for at all.
I’ll probably play it.
Maybe sell wasn’t the right word. But I’d imagine it would’ve made its own fair share of money if it managed to get an english localisation. Probably wouldn’t have been blockbuster numbers, but decent enough to keep up the revenue stream (especially since it was primarily an arcade game too with slightly less reliance on disc sales).

Yeah that makes sense. When Aquaplazza came out on the arcade it was the 2nd most popular arcade game behind Gundam for a while before Persona 4 Ultimate came out. I figure thats why the game would come for the arcade cause they feel that it will be popular in that fashion. Plus theres the playable demo that will be available at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2013 event on October 6th where they will show off more of the game.
I think that all of you are forgetting something very important here.
The interest of Sega releasing a game like this with an already that will a established fanbase is that it will mean more sales for the Sega Ringedge2.
More games on the RE2 means more sales for them, right now the market is heavily in favor of Taito with Nesica, all the major FG’s are there.

I love SAO to death, but it brought out such a godawful fandom.

A few months ago I played a dating sim about a robot planetarium worker in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic world after WW3. There wasn’t much dating, now that I look back on it.

Not all visual novels are dating sims and the same holds true for vice versa.
Planetarian is a very good example of a non-dating sim visual novel since there’s no choices to make at all. You just read.
Love Plus on the other hand is a non-visual novel dating sim. It’s just a game to simulate dating with no real narrative or ending.
i’d buy a Love Plus fighting game.
I know, I was being sarcastic. Given how well-informed d3v was about LNs, I was surprised by how misinformed and biased his comment about VNs was.
