Yeah I may restart and go Magic; pure Melee is pretty tough. You’ll want some sort of ranged weapon in this game…
LOL, scratch that then. Maybe I’ll choose the Priest on the 2nd run through. I’m going to force myself to not look at the guide. I hear half the fun is figuring everything out.
wait that was your ghost? lol I saw that
So yea I just ordered the Deluxe edition from amazon and It should come tomorrow. I am an RPG noob, In fact I hated RPGs until I played Chrono Trigger (The DS remake lol). Anyways my shopping impulse kicked in after watching a few vids of this game and I heard it was quite difficult at first with the learning curve which is fine… How does the Co-op work in this game though?
You don’t need to make a new character.
Just teach your character some magic and raise its magic stats a little.
In this game you’ll need to be versatile.
edit:
Did anyone here with the Asian version get the bladestone trophy and has a pure stone or a +5 sharp weapon in his inventory? Yeah I’m desperate…
I need to start working on some magic. I’m in the second part of the mines and I can’t figure out an efficient way to kill the bugs besides just smacking them with a sword for a really long time until they die, I assume there’s some sort of elemental weakness. Then again I have no bash-type weapons so I haven’t tried that either.
i am a thief
Going to rent this today if I like it I’ll buy it. One of the things that appeals to me is that they say it?s genuinely hard not cheap hard.
^ Oh, it can be cheap hard too haha…
what’s the easiest class to start out with?
Hey, are you supposed to lose to the tutorial boss? That motherfucker dropped me almost immediately.
Real men don’t lose to the tutorial boss.
In the end I think the classes don’t matter as much since you control your stat gains in the beginning it’s more about what equipment/spells they come with, but I think a Royal is good because it starts at soul level 1, which means you can have more control over your stats, and they start with a ring that regens MP and a spell that’s is really useful.
From what I hear yes you are supposed to lose to him(I got 1 shot-ed), but he is beatable apparently.
Yeah, he pretty much crushed me in a couple of hits. I’ll have my revenge on that bastard.
Father Michael has been created!
I am going to have to boost up my dex to at least 10, rolling with the priest is extra slow.
Faith and strength too. BY THE POWER OF GOD.
I was just checking out the game briefly. I’ll kill that motherfucker when I play for real.
I myself did precisely this until my stats’ cost was around 3500.
I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who crunched in this manner.
Oh, and I’m a Barb.
And I have 23 Strength.
Because in that grassy area of the first stage, there’s a kick-ass Purple Shield requiring a ton of Str.
What all items have you guys found?
I usually weild my +2 bastard sword - 1 or 2 handed, with a +1 long sword on switch for the tight areas.
tutorial boss
Spoiler
Yes. If you beat him, you die in the next cutscene anyway…
Oh, so it’s like “beating” Kain in the original FFIV (which I did). Gotcha.
I don’t have many good items, but I also got the Purple Flame shield, I hear it’s really good because it reduces fire damage a lot. I’m still at 16 STR though, so I need more levels. gotta level up in that spot you guys mentioned
