actually it’s definitely nerfed. the game’s new magic stock system nerfs if off the bat because it places a direct counter on your spell. I dont know if there are magic regenerating potions (if there are, i have not encountered any), but managing magic “stock” makes it less effective because once you use it up it can only be replenished at the bonfire. the stock spell soul arrow or whatever the fuck it’s called has targeting issues and misses frequently. not only that but start up on magic has been increased to annoying levels. the 2nd powered up soul arrow, the “great” version has a start up time that is longer than the most powerful spell in the first game.
also if you take into consideration some of the enemies are more versatile in terms of movement and combine it with the changes that have been made the difference is very apparent…quickly.
ive met the sorcery vendor, i think you have access to him immediately after you beat the moonlight butterfly.
Once you light the bonfire underneath where the Dragon sits, then he gets very glitchy.
Leeches work, but you can also try Slimes in The Depths. There are a quite a few slimes right outside of the Bonfire in The Depths, so they are easy to farm.
not for me. that dude had something to do with with removing sin. the sorcery vendor that i found was around the place with the theives, dogs running around, and basic minion dudes holding torches (you have to use some sort of basement key or something like that to get there from the parish i think?). the thieves hide behind doors and try to ambush you when you walk by. the sorcerer was locked behind one of the doors and i opened it for him, he said he would meet me back at the starting point where the guy tells you about ringing the bells, and that’s where you go to buy magic from him.
You get the key for that area, Lower Undead Burg, from beating the Bell Gargoyle. The key for opening his door is bought at the Undead Merchant (male) in the Undead Burg.
The key you get from the Moonlight Butterfly opens the door in the same area as the Hydra.
So I absolved my sins to become friendly with the merchant before Blighttown, but the dude isn’t there anymore. Anyone know what’s up?
I beat the Catacombs, killed the Lochness Monster, killed the Undead Dragon, returned to the turtorial area and killed the extra boss, and I killed the Wolf boss in the forest beyond the locked door. Now what? I went to New Londor(sp?) unlocked the bottom area, then I went through a white fog door to a winding down staircase. At the end of the staircase, their’s nothing except a fall to my death. Anyone know what’s up? I heard if I equip the ring I got from the Wolf boss that I can survive the abyss, does that mean I equip that ring and I’ll magically live through the fall at the end of the winding down staircase past the white fog door? Should I go to the Land of the Giants instead? Help me out, Spooty!(or anyone else that’s this far and knows what to do.)
I know I’m screwing up my character build here. Level 20 thief, but I pumped up fighter stats, vitality, endurance and strength so I can use the Drake sword. I just wanted to be able to get the key and firebombs at the start. Ultimately it really doesn’t matter though, right? Just a few wasted levels to make up for stat points you didn’t start with.
Spooty, the leeches drop the stone in stacks of 5, and I usually get a drop each run.
Where do I get the light creating spell? Kinda sad that I buffed my scimitar up to +5 divine, 'cause I just got a falchion and that seems like it is a better base of the same time than the scimitar.
I was about to find Yurt 2.0, I had no idea there was a lower path from the Firelink Shrine’s camp fire (or whatever the place is called).
The dude was like “here’s an item, kwah hehehehehehe!” and I’m like “that’s cool…”
My question about that is there’s some bitch that’s in that cell and does not say shit.
Who is shit, and should I update my flask from her?
Also, I think I’m strong enough to go back and fight those big golden rusted armor knights.
Gonna back track and fight those dudes I’ve avoided and see what they got hiding behind them.
I killed the dual gargoyle bosses and got the gargoyle tail axe but chopping off the tail. The bosses is weak against Lightning as i used the pine resin on my scimitar+2. I also took out the bull demon boss and the titanite demon which wasn’t too hard. I need more souls to beef up my stats.
The first one you can use now, but the next time you get one, hold onto it.
I think I figured out how weapon damage works. I don’t think it is like Demon Souls where all your damage types (fire/normal/magic) were added together, I think this time it is fire or normal or magic or lightning, and the damage you deal is whichever one hits harder/that enemies have least resistance to.
Otherwise iunno. I have a spear that is 155 normal and does more damage than my 100+/100+ normal/magic sword.
In other words, divine weapons kinda suck.
Does the key the blacksmith sells lead to
boss
Spoiler
great grey wolf sif?
I just beat that boss, so I don’t know if I should still blow the 20k souls on the key.
I’m not sure if it leads to that particular boss but it does lead you to an awesome soul farming spot (about 7000 souls per run), check this video out.
But they kinda suck because they don’t always give a boost to damage, more often they boost min damage. In most cases it would be better to have the +10 normal weapon than the +5 divine.
Yeah, just tested it. Don’t get/use divine weapons unless you have high faith, or you are going to fight undead.
