^ i have yet tp [ast that part. keep dieing on the last bridge. either by the dragon or that damn colored demon knight thing. But im still loving every minute of it
Ugh, wished I had a better income.
Now I got to debate to either get this game or Uncharted 2.
Goddamn you PS3 >_<
^ Lmao. I’m in the same situation as you.
Right now I’m thinking of buying Demon’s Souls…and just play the demo for Uncharted 2 if I wanna play it. Who needs the full game when the demo is online multiplayer? XD
the problem is the demo for u2 is not gonna be available forever. it ends on the 12th
just picked up the game and its really good and definitely challenging… some of the enemies can kill you in like 1 or 2 hits lol… the knights with red glowing eyes killed me with 2 hits after i got one of my moves parried!
btw, if you guys encounter the dragon on the bridge… its possible to kill him on the bridge with either the bow or crossbow, but it will take awhile to kill him [about 100 arrows maybe? lol]… its worth it though cuz you get a shitload of souls in return and you dont have to worry about him breathin fire and takin away 80+% of your health lol
I went 2 steps ahead and just bought Demons Souls. Uncharted 2 can wait. :cybot:
Stats to focus on - this depends on how you want to evolve your character. Str is good because it allows you to equip better weapons and shields and gives a boost to damage with some weapons. Endurance gives your more HP. Dex is good because boosts your damage with other weapons. Magic increases your MP and Spell damage. Faith improves your Prayers. Will increases how many spells you can have available at one time. Luck is relatively useless, it improves how often you get item drops from enemies but doesn’t help you get rare items or anything… save it for later. Upgrading anything at all improves your defenses.
Very early on, you should probably do Str/Dex/Magic/Faith/Will depending on what weapon you’re using, and whether you want to/are use magic a lot.
Old weapons can be upgraded into better weapons, but you can’t ever sell them. There are NPCs that will take certain items in trade for better items though. Just leave your extra stuff with Stockpile Thomas. It can be good to have a couple of throwaway items in case you get invaded by a Black Phantom though… you can then drop them on the ground as a lure.
There are supposed to be 2 dragons on the cliff in 1-1 that are guarding a number of bodies with gear on them… I’ve been hearing that some people with the Atlus version haven’t been seeing them, no idea why.
Personally I don’t think it’s worth killing the Dragon in 1-2 until later… once you learn the safe spots it’s actually pretty easy to run past its flames and it conveniently kills all of the dudes on the bridge for you.
I got the game, ibow2no1 is playing it right now.
He’s going to get his own copy later today and we will leave hints about dying for each other all over the place.
He’s a Wanderer. I think I’m going to be a thief or a caveman.
I was messing around yesterday just sprinting around and trying to play like DMC and getting owned. It was still fun though. I can’t wait to get some new armorz.
I also tried to kill everyone in the Nexus. I killed the blacksmith and the lady with the pickaxe, but warrior guy and item guy were too hard and I died.
What I just found it is if you beat the boss for 1-1 and advance to 1-2, if you go back to 1-1, the dragons have left, and thus you’re free to loot the items that were close to where the dragons were resting. At least that was what happened during my game.
Has anyone been able to actually kill the Red Dragon? Tired of shooting arrows at it and there’s no confirmation if I scored a hit or not…
You cannot kill the dragons in 1-1. You can kill the red dragon in 1-2 and the blue dragon in 1-4.
The way it’s supposed to work is that in 1-1 both dragons are nesting there, the red one occasionally flies circuits so you can run down there and grab some items and run back. After you beat 1-1, the red dragon stops flying circuits so it becomes impossible to grab those items unless you have fire resistant gear. However you can kill the red dragon in 1-2, then it will no longer be in 1-1. After you kill both dragons, then the coast is completely clear. Also, if you get to Pure White tendency, the dragons disappear. When you attack the dragons in 1-2 and 1-4, you’ll see their lifebars go down as you hit them.
It looks like for a lot of people the Dragons just randomly don’t appear in the US version though, not sure why…
in area 1-2, the second guard tower is the best spot to kill the dragon and there is also a compact bow at the top, which allows you to precision aim unlike the crossbow… if you hit the dragon wit an arrow, you’ll see blood come out while he is flyin over you… you can even lock on to check his health when its close to you… i actually ran out of bow arrows, so i switched to my crossbow and killed him… even though you cant aim, you can still time your shots when hes about to blow fire and fly away… you’ll kno you hit him wen you see blood come out so play close attention
hope this helps :china:
this red knight is really pissing me off. it’s like he knows when I’m gonna try and pop a health pot because he then fucking charges me and hits me 20 times and overkills me.
edit: nvm, owned up his stupid FACE.
Unless you are very very good, you can’t kill the Red Knight in 1-1 early in the game. You can use the terrain to your advantage and lure him into falling down the stairs and killing him that way, but it will be nearly impossible to fight him in straight combat, especially not in the narrow bridge that you find him on. Also, behind him is just a locked door that you don’t have the key for until later.
the red knight was pretty hard the first time i fought him… the best way i found to beat was to use turpentine + short spear… dont bother with usin both hands to wield the spear cuz i think it only give you 10 more dmg… just keep the shield with you… when the knight is low on health, he’ll try and heal, so just use weak attacks to stop him…
btw i think the heater shield is one of the best shields you can buy at the beginning of the game… even though my strength was not high enough to use it yet, it still blocked 100% of physical attacks and stamina loss wasnt too bad
I just have the red knight chase me to the first launcher thing and peg him while running around. Really easy and fast.
the way I beat him was kinda risky, I took him head on with the spear and shield, whenever I blocked and attack that would stagger him i hit him with a heavy attack, rinse and repeat. if I was fast enough I’d also get a hit in if he tried to shield bash me. but like I said this strategy is risky because if you screw up once you’re pretty much dead, if you get hit by whatever the hell the attack charge thing that hits 3 times in a row you’re dead, soul or body. and yeah when he got to healing range I basically just kept pegging him when he tried to heal till he died.
and yes, he WILL attack you if you try to heal, even if he’s just standing there staring at you, the second you try to pop and herb he’ll destroy you.
That’s exactly what I did lol! I noticed the mobs on the long stairway were falling down just to get to you so I decided to train him to that part and sure enough he fell right down. Unfortunately the item he was guarding isn’t all that great.
Yeah I had a bow and was shooting stuff at him but wasn’t sure if it hit or not…now having trouble with the Tower Knight. As a melee character it’s a pain, especially in Soul Form when he one hit kills you -_-
when you fight tower knight, make sure you kill all the guys wit the crossbows before you even attack him… equip your best weapon to both hands and also have the cling ring so you have more health if you’re in soul form
try to stay behind him as much as possible… this way you dont have to worry about his more damagin moves… the only move that can hit you while you’re behind him is his stomp… attack the ankles and once he is damaged enough he will fall to the ground and you can attack his head for lots of damage
btw check out the demons souls wiki… they give alot of good info on all aspects of the game, as well as the best strat for fightin each boss
