Got my lava Bow last night(got DBS on saturday hollar). How are some bosses in this game like stupid hard for some reason and other ones(5-1 boss i’m looking at you) stupid easy. I literally just stood where he couldn’t hit me with the leech thingies and arrowed him to death haha.
Cause not everyone can figure out simple strategies like that.
Yes. Flamelurker whupped the shit out of me for like…2 hours until I figured out how to glitch him behind the bony fence.
Staying alive = progressing the story. That’s all I see about it.
staying alive means you can unlock places you couldnt go before once your world turns pure white, and fight Executioner Miralda. Also if it turns pure black you can unlock the black souls and extra areas. This site explains it more NPCs - Demon’s Souls English Wiki
You don’t even need to do that. Put on the Thief ring, walk all the way against the wall to the right, you can make it to the platform behind him without him seeing you a causing aggro. Cast death cloud or poison cloud on his back and back away, watch it eat his HP, when it stops walk up and cast again. On NG+ I did that, I casted a few times then hit him with God’s Wrath or Firestorm, I don’t remember which because it was ages ago, but I killed him without him even taking a step.

Goddamn, I’m trying that shit out on NG+. My stupid ass insisted on going through the game in level order, so…yeah.
Flamelurker is hard for first timers, but he only has 2 or 3 attacks and all of them can be dodged easily. Don’t wear as much equipment as possible, at half equip weight or less you can roll much faster. It’ll help throughout the entire game.
Yeah, for Flamelurker, all you have to do is roll out of the way of his attacks. Now, Maneater…that’s a fun one.
Actually, I don’t remember Maneater being too bad. Then again, I had given in to the cheesy goodness of the Lava Bow by that point, eschewing the Dragon Bone Smasher.
yeah i beat Flamelurker with a bow, just constant pillar humping and loading him up with my(at that time) Compound Long Bow +5.
currently got 6 more levels till i got str at 30 and can 1h the great DBS. That sword is so bad ass haha.

What the fuck. There’s just a pit and I’m supposed to blindly fall down and hope that platform isn’t just a trick.
Nah. The left side is the normal, long path. The right side is a massive shortcut, but has a lot of blind drops. Hopefully there are some helpful messages left at the drop points.
So I can entirely avoid the giant pit section? Where does the alternate route begin?
Right at the beginning of 2-2, after you reach the bomb inside the mine cart at the fork.

If you have trouble seeing the platforms for the 2-2 shortcut, turn the game brightness up a little bit and they should be clearly visible. My old SDTV was pretty dark, but on my new monitor I don’t have to adjust anything and it’s quite easy to find the shortcuts
if your having a hard time watch youtube vids. Man eater can be killed easy with Firestorm learned from Yuria, the Witch.
when I played I found the majority of the bosses could be easily killed with with either my beginning spell (I was royalty) or my Vicious Longbow. Only a handful did I have to actually fight.
