You can only upgrade it by using colorless demon souls
I’m on my NG+ run right now with my second character. I beat it once with a character that was pretty much evenly rounded, but wanted to play the game pure melee with my only magic being buffs… and holy crap, enchant/light weapon DESTROYS bosses’ health, especially with the meat cleaver. If it weren’t for hefty hike in damage the enemies deal out in NG+, I’d have to say that I have broken the game 
You must offer him the Flamelurker Soul and then he will do the special upgrades, also I don’t think leveling up that shield is a good thing to do. I low levels it is good because it replenishes health, but it doesn’t 100% block anything. You take some damage all the time that you won’t with other shields. Once you get the Dark Silver shield you will probably throw the adjudicator shield in the trash.:wgrin:

Any of you guys know what weapon that is? It looks sweet and is a Long Sword/Knight Sword style of play. I want that baby badly. Yesterday I got the Dark Silver set, Old King Doran’s set, Freke’s set, Northern Regailia, Dragon Bone Crusher, that clear blue sword from the Slug nest in 5-2 and the Blueblood Sword. I wasn’t a fan of any of those weapons except for the Regailia which I swap out sometimes with my +5 Quality Kilij. I also did all of Mephisto’s quests which were pretty fun and quick.
Which would you guys say the best shield in the game is? I’m using a +10 Purple Flame Shield, but I do have the Dark Silver shield and Tower Shield. Tower shield seems to be the best in the end once you have a shitload of endurance and can wear anything you want while still being able to roll.
It’s not long sword type, I can tell you that. It’s more a curved blade type, like scimitar, shotel, etc… I think it’s the one you get for upgrading a weapon with Maneater’s soul, but I could be wrong. I don’t use those type’s myself, nor have I upgraded to that weapon yet for the trophy, so I can’t tell you for sure. I stick to my crushing long sword, meat cleaver, and occasional spear myself.
As for best shield, I personally prefer the purple flame shield as well. The only other one I can think of that would be another good substitute would be the dark silver shield.
Ah, I see. Nice. I should have enough materials to upgrade a Shotel of some kind, though I want to make sure it’ll turn out to be that exact type of weapon before I do. I didn’t know those style of swords attacked like a Long Sword type. I’m gonna have to look through the Demon’s Souls wiki though I didn’t see that weapon when I was looking through it last time. Closest I saw was a Morion Blade, but that takes the Storm King’s Soul.

Unless you have high luck stat, I don’t suggest using any of the special long swords made from demon’s souls. Blueblood is awesome for high luck, but if you don’t have it, stick to something like crushing or quality. I’m using crushing right now since strength is my highest stat.
That sword is the large sword of searching, and it kind of sucks horribly as an actual weapon. It is mostly used in the left hand for its passive ability to increase item drop rates.
I still can’t Blacksmith Ed in 2-1. Any suggestions?
Just lost about 13,000 souls last night to a Red Eyes Knight in 1-3. Then I died again in the start of 1-3 since I was trying to do a counter-attack to the guards and got owned.
Know the first part in 2-1 where you encounter the lizardmen with the molten swords? The normal path goes left through the tunnel, but if you go straight ahead behind them, there are smashable items to go through. Head through that, walk around to the right, and there will be a wheel to turn that activates rotating platforms. These will take you down to Ed, as well as cut your travel time WAY down if you decide to go to the Nexus and then back to 2-1.

So I learned all the miracles I could from from Saint Urbain and guy before him, yet I never got the trophy. Any of you guys know what’s up? I have to be missing a miracle or two somewhere, but I’m not sure how I can be considering when I go to Urbain and hit the miracles tab it says that there are none left to learn.
I finished up my first NG+ and am now a little over half way through NG++. I’m gonna get all the PBWT items I missed now, mainly from Black Phantom characters like Garland.
I made the Sword of Searching. I like it, it’s slightly less damage than my Kilij but it looks cool and is the exact same weapon type as a Kilij so it’s fun to use. Northern Regailia is retarded VS bosses, I killed Flamelurker in 3 combos. Actually, the Regailia is retarded period. It does crazy damage for having no multiplyers.
Yo Sean, have you messed around in 4-1 yet? I suggest going there at around SLVL 30, you can find great items there and the monsters are easy to deal with. Block and then punish. Dual Katana skeletons might be a bitch at first but you’ll understand how to deal with them pretty quick.
Ostravia somehow died in my game. I saved him in 1-1 and 1-2. I haven’t seen him yet in 1-3 but he is in the Nexus. Is it possible to kill Ostravia in the Nexus to get the Masouleum Key or wait until New Game +?
If Ostravia is in the Nexus then he isn’t dead.
Also, when dealing with Ostravia, remember that if you save him before you beat the boss of a section (such as saving in 1-1 before killing Phalanx). He will walk around 1-1,1-2 or 1-3 until you kill the boss of that section. This means that everytime you restart a section that he is walking around, you need to go and save him before he dies.
Yeah you can do that, but I’m pretty sure you just haven’t gotten to the part where he’s supposed to be in 1-3. Have you gone all the way around and opened that iron gate near the beginning? Because if you do kill him in the Nexus, I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to get Demonbrand or be able to fight Old King Doran.
If you do kill him or he gets killed, make sure to loot the key from his body to get Demonbrandt/fight Old King Doran.
I may be wrong about this, but from what I’ve read, there’s a “regeneration” miracle and a “regenerate” mircale, the second one obtained by giving Urbain 3 colorless demon souls. Have you tried this yet? I only have 2 colorless atm, just need to go back to 4-1 again and trade with the sparkly crow. I’ve got what I need to get a few more, just haven’t gotten around to doing it, lol.
Flamelurker is wrecking my ass in NG+, even when I’ve got purple shield and flame resistance ring. I always get cornered and can’t get away from him.
Sooo i have no idea what ive been doing in this game at all. I think i beat all of worlds 2,3, and 4. My best weapon is the sticky compound bow +5 and my crescent falchion +4. I haven’t really been paying attention to how I’ve been playing. I bought the game on day one and i only have about 20 hrs played. I’m about to fight the blue dragon on world 1, Ostravia is still alive i think he was supposed to help me fight penetrator right? but he didnt help. i opened the gate and saved him from the red knights.
My stats are mainly in str(27)/dex(30)/end(22)/mix of everything else. Should i pump more into dex at this point? What sword should i switch to? I dont really rely on magic too much. I just use it to heal once in a while. I haven’t considered the whole WT/CT while I have been playing, I heard its easy to turn into PBWT which i think i should try to do this time and do PWWT in NG+.
Have you tried getting him stuck behind the bones and then shoot him with arrows?
That must be it. Talk to him with Colorless Demon’s Souls in my inventory I’m guessing? Also, I only have 2 as well, what items are you trading the Crow for the souls? I most likely have some as well.
I try to fight Flamelurker in the open areas as much as possible. When you get a good combo in on him and he starts to backdash, that’s when it’s a good idea to heal. My Northern Regailia destroyed him, my other weapons barely did any damage but one big combo using all of my stamina took about 1/3 of his health, then all I did was roll backwards to evade his jump-in attacks. He didn’t do that much damage to me either, about 1/5th on a blocked attack. I was using Purple Flame Shield and The Ring of Flame Resistance too, as well as maybe a Brushwood piece.
Do you have Warding? It makes every boss hit like a kitten. I won’t use it until I fight Maneater again…he annoyed me on my first NG+ as well as the False King, but I stacked my Magic Resistance VS the False King and punished every spell attack he tried to use.
I got wrecked by Flamelurker in NG+ as well, eventually just had to wait for summoned help to do it.
Alright, so I guess he isn’t dead yet then. I still need to kill the Red Dragon in 1-2. Any recommendations for good armor for a wanderer? IIRC, I am using plate mail, greaves, gauntlets and greaves. Good armor…bad mobility.
