I used Soul Arrow back when I was a much lower level, it took 20 minutes. I bet Soul Ray would fuck his world up 10x faster.
I only did a piddly 22 damage.

Hey guys, quick question.
I’ve unlocked Mephistopheles in the nexus and she’s asking me to assassinate some targets. I want to wait 'til endgame to do this because I still have a few bosses to beat and I might need the NPCs. If my character tendency shifts towards white will she disappear? If she does disappear, and I shift my character tendency towards black again, will she reappear?
I’m thinking she’ll stay in the nexus once unlocked, similar to the execution grounds in 1-1. (Once you open the gate, it’ll remain open no matter what)
finally had some time to play again today (stupid tests and midterms). Penetrator was my bitch, like 30 or 45 seconds and he was dead. I was surprised how simple the fight is with Biorr helping me.
I also found a second winged Spear (still 1st playthrough) what should I make it into? I love my Moon winged spear, but was thinking maybe something more physical for enemies strong to magical attacks?
Okay so upon playing this game I am completely hooked, but I feel a little lost. I died and ended up beating the phalanx to get my soul back. unfortunately now i am lost on what to do. should i just keep plugging away? I went to the tunnels and seem to be making my way through just fine but the openness of this game is just mind boggling to me.
Yea, it’s really good. I kind of cheated my self by using the guide though, the temptation was too strong. Half the fun is figuring out what to do.
Swerve, if you wanna challenge don’t use any guides except for recommended starting classes. Pick a weapon you like and level it up as quick as possible then do the same for different types of weapons (blunt, piercing, slashing, etc.) Enemies are more vulnerable to different types.
I started off with hunter, as I like picking off enemies from a distance and that is the only class that can snipe. I also read that it’s easier to go pure black right on the first play thru to get the special NPC interactions instead of NG+ since it’s alot harder. If I could go back I would have gone thru pure black the first run thru.
when you say level a weapon do I just use a weapon type frequently or do i perform upgrades?
this is the first rpg i’ve played in years…
You perform upgrades at the blacksmith either at the Nexus or in World 2-1.
You level up based on the ores you find not weapon use. Different monsters give different ores, so don’t give any at all.
okay so if i upgrade the weapon i started the game with is that a bad idea, or should i find/buy another that may be better?
thanks again!
If you like the weapon you started the game with you can upgrade it a bit. There are “better” versions of weapons in each type (i.e. knight sword is better than the longsword, the kilij is better than the scimitar, etc) that you can find that function identically to each other except one has better stats and maybe a longer reach.
It’s easy to get basic weapon upgrade ores in small and large shards (there are vendors that will sell them infinitely), so you can upgrade everything up to like +5 or +6 without worrying too much about it. Once you start to need chunks of ore, though, you might want to consider your upgrades more carefully, and eventually you will want specialized weapon upgrades like sharp/crushing/crescent which can be harder to come by. For now though feel free to upgrade stuff if you like it.
So, I have been playing my first character as a Strength based melee character. It is fun, but I wanted to try a new character so I started a Royal. I played through 1-1 (killed phalanx), then I went to the Nexus. I re-entered 1-1 and to my surprise, the executioner gate was open and I was PWWT.
Does anyone know how I got to PWWT even though I only killed Phalanx?
Got my butt handed to me in the first stage. That means it’s a good game
It’s a known bug if you are playing online your tendency shifts randomly once in a while. It could be good (in your case), and bad depending on what your shooting for.
Man… Some of these boss fights are cakewalk. Old Monk and Leechmonger especially. Just killed them yesterday and I barely took a hit. Penetrator too… I didn’t know Biorr helps you if you rescued him. Hahaha.
Maybe my Meat Cleaver is just too strong. Owned em quick.
Yeah some bosses are much easier than others. Adjudicator is so easy that you can beat 4-1 easily with a brand new character, especially if you use the shortcut glitch, and then you have access to 4-2 reaper farming basically from the start of the game.
Did you fight Old Monk online? He is quite easy offline but online anything is possible.
yeah, Penetrator was simple with Biorr, Fool’s Idol was too. I literally shot her to death with arrows, she didn’t start “fighting” me (aka split into multiples) until she was about to die, and I just hit her with an arrow and she died
fill me in on this, please.
Go through 4-1 until you get to the castle wall with the archers on it, then go up and kill the skeletons there. Keep going to the other end (where you can go down the stairs to get the key to free Graverobber Blige). Adjust your equipment so that you can roll as quickly as possible, then stand at the top and face back toward the beginning of the level. Roll forward across the gap, if you did it right you should be standing on the edge of the tower wall so that you can drop down to where the regenerator’s ring is located. The boss room is a short walk from there and the only enemy in your way is the last dual katana skeleton who you can easily roll past and enter the boss fog gate.
edit: there are youtube videos up for it now:
