Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

I know, i said NG.

Just so many more players in ng compared to ng+

Why the hell is it so difficult to farm human effigies once you run out? The highest drop rate from enemies is like 5%. How did FROM not learn from DaS when they admitted there weren’t enough sources of humanity in the game? You should get them for co-op and invading as well as bosses, but nope there’s only a set amount of pick ups in the game and enemies rarely drop them. Yeah, yeah I know you can go to the shrine to become human, but it’s an annoyance and one that could be easily remedied if it weren’t for finite enemies with tiny drop rates.

Welp spent bout 2 hours on Manus today and that fucker just wont go down. I’m getting him to just below half health but he eventually fucks my ass up. The pendant is a bit hard to use as it has long start up, and Sif is kinda useless hahaha. He’ll go down eventually tho. At this point tho he’s the only thing keeping me from going into the Kiln and finishing up the game. Damn bastard.

I hadn’t posted in a few days so felt like giving an update as to my progress…which is none lool. No boss in this game has stopped me up this long before. Gettin a little annoyed haha. Will get him soon tho, I can feel it.

Did you kill Kalameet?

lol naw I haven’t even tried him yet. Haven’t even gotten Hawkeye to shoot him out of the sky yet.

At least give him a try before you finish the game. You get a pretty cool weapon for cutting his tail, but that’s a battle in and of itself.

For Manus, drop Sif if he isn’t doing you any good. Summons increase bosses’ health, you know…

Learn to use your i frames to roll through his hand swipes and roll back 3 times in a row when he rains down pursuers. Also if you thought Manus was tough well Kalameet may take you a looooooong time like it did for me and even longer if you want to cut his tail off

  1. You can use max item drop with shit like covetous gold +1 and merchant hat and a bunch of enemies drop it (like dogs and some knights)
  2. PvE you should be using the ring of life protection because it’s 3k souls to fix, you get a bunch of them before NG+, and why do I need to explain more
  3. white soaps to get human before a tough boss if you really need summons (which you shouldn’t before NG+ sinner as many souls players believe) although summons are a nice way to kick back and relax through fights

I got dodging his physical stuff down pretty well, even with my fat ass Tank (who I’m actually having more fun with then my lighter build lol). It’s his magic that fucks me up. The raining down one not so bad, but the big circle still gets me from time to time, and he likes to do the Shinku Hadouken style forward shot right in my face and it’s pretty fast it seems. It’s also the one that will reliably drain pretty much my whole health bar if it hits. I think the last key for me to winning this thing is being faster on the trigger with the pendant. I think having to actually rely on something in my item slot that isn’t an Estus Flask is what’s really getting me. I keep needing the switch between the two, I just need to get that into my muscle memory for the fight and then I’ll be good.

Yea I’ll probably give Kalmeet a try but I am starting to get a bit anxious to get the main narrative finished. I mean I’ve technically been at the last boss for like a week and half now, I’m kinda gettin itchin to see what this Lord Gwyn guy is all about in the best way this game knows how to tell you about it’s characters, through a boss fight. I’ve heard he’s kind of disappointing, but whatever, still want to see the guy. So yea I’ll probably give Kalameet a try but I don’t think I’ll dedicate to beating him this time cuz I’m wanting to finish up the narrative.

Also I’ve thought about dropping Sif due to the health thing, but he has distracted the boss for me to get some powerful hits in, or that ever fleeting moment to Estus up, so while the boss getting more health is problematic, I still think so far Sif is useful enough for the moments where he distracts the boss to outweigh the health bonus…might drop him soon tho as I’m getting pretty good at not getting hit.

People run out of human effigy’s? I have probably 30+. I stay hollow. 75% life the whole game.

I spent 15 effigy’s on entering the Dark Chasm area from that covenant featuring the sith lord in a wheel chair.

Jesus that place is brutal.

I’m guessing my playthrough is a bit backwards at this point, I often wander/explore after killing a boss instead of continuing directly after them. My experience for the most part has been dealing with a ridiculously brutal section, then venturing into another which I completely rape. I’m guessing Harvest Valley is supposed to come before The Shaded Woods? I destroyed that snake bitch boss in less than 10 swings of my mace and I’m a sorcerer. I managed to stun her twice during my one and only barrage and she didn’t even get a chance to attack. I was elated and disappointed at how easy she fell.

150SL pvp is the most retarded haha

Kalameet’s Tail is the hardest tail to get in any Souls game ever

Just finished up The Black Gulch, gonna backtrack to The Iron Keep next. The Rotten was a pushover, aside from the arena fire damage that was surprisingly easy. Definitely wish that whole area was longer though, Valley of Defilement is still the best over Blight Town and The Gutter/Black Gulch.

The Rotten is a damn joke. He still doesn’t disgust me like the 1st boss in Valley of Defilement. And yeah, Defilement is nasty after area 1-1. That stage actually made me feel bad for sending my character into that mess.

Does the community have a wiki with a decnet amount of weapon info, or is everything still in the air?

I’m interested in what is compatible with Cesti Dual stance.

Yeah, I need more effigies to finish that place. I ran out due to a combination of that, and needing to be human to invade. It’s annoying trying to farm them.

The Darklurker didn’t seem to drop anything that interested me, so I just decided I’d finish up Chasm of Old in NG+. Probably spent a few dozen Effigies re-entering that goddamn place over and over again before I was done, though. Kind of seems more reasonable to force players to use Effigies only if they’re outside the covenant or something.

Oh well. All I care about at this point is getting back to the Demon of Song again so I can POISON DUAL WHIP MOTHERFUCKERS.

It’s intriguing to me to watch someone get progressively worse the more they play.
