Well, I did it. I beat Demon’s Souls last night. It was pretty amazing. I’ve had that game since 2009 and finally sat down and beat it. Its funny how everything just “clicked” for me yesterday and I beat 1-4 and then ran through the plague world like nothing. Then beat the game.
Gonna play through it again haha.
I gotta do the dark soul games now. I love this series.
I bought Dark Souls yesterday when i went to pick up Thief and Lords of Shadow 2. Lookin forward to diving into it. I like that you can upgrade armor in this game, which you can’t in Demon’s :sad:
demon souls is a lot older then dark souls though. I guess they were trying to stay with the old rpg format were you cant upgrade armor only weapons

Arguably so, even still it would be better to back up your statment with your own reasons then “It got lots of 9s and 10s.”
@crotchpuncha Although it’s very tempting to so do I highly suggest you don’t lookup any FAQs or guides for DeS or DaS on your first playthrough of them. there are dozens of really obscure lore, items, and secrets that no player would ever figure out on their own hidden within both games, so to not go in blind on a first run is like walking into a film after it’s half over.
I’d wager there’s a good deal of content that even most players who have spent hundreds of hours in game still haven’t discovered and that really speaks to the thoughtfulness and vision of the game. Especially when you get to optimizing your build DaS gets even more intelligent shaming all other RPGs further.
+15 crystal great scythe is probably the best weapon in the game, too bad you can’t repair it unless you rewrite a script in the game AKA cheat.
@skeletroll you’re seriously under estimating MLGS it’s one of the best weapons in the hands of someone who has intelligence at 50 and knows how to use both of its projectiles in tandem with spells, it makes for some deadly frame traps and a shit ton of safe damage.

Are you talking PvP? Cause in PvE my Enchanted weapons (forgot which exactly) were doing higher damage at 50 Intelligence and with faster animations.
How go the Demons Souls playthrough? Still on the Flamelurker?
Yea I haven’t looked up too much stuff. Just a thing or two to here an there. Really just getting advice from a friend and the guys here at most.
Yea I actually haven’t gotten back to Demon’s souls yet, I been playing Lords of Shadow 2 and Thief. Will get back to it real soon tho, I think I’m almost done with LOS2, so that will open up the spot in my game time.
Has the shield metagame evolved since day 1 or are heat, eagle, and grass crest still the best? Also has anyone tried using dark hand for any slightly heavy builds? People assume dark hand is only good with light builds, but I suspect a medium weight build can be best suited for it too.

the pvp did evolve a lot though, not that it matters because if you’re not good all you need is dwgr and sideroll to get bses.
BoC deaded yesterday. I’m pretty sure that’s the only hard boss that I had left.
Gave the Flame Lurker another run. After about 5 tries i was out of healing items. Fuck that guy man. I really liked the part where i got right behind him, swung my sword 3 times and it only registered once. That shit happened twice. I’d have probably killed him that run if the mechanics in this game weren’t dog shit. Gonna go kill someone in another world before I try that fucker again Super salt

I had a damn hard time with Flamelurker too when I first ran into him on my first play through. Meleeing that guy is a huge pain in the ass, and I was a fat fuck temple knight fat rolling around. I forgot how I eventually beat him… I think I used flash sweat or something.
If you have the Purple Flame Shield and at least the second fastest roll animation you can beat him without having to get behind him. Just block all his melee and attack when he stops. Wait to see if he does it again and repeat, or if he does his AOE simply roll back twice. As long as you keep him in the center of the room while circle strafing you should be fine.
Mainly just the sword issue (tho the roll can be a little wonky sometimes to). I hit that fucker point blank 3 times but only one of the hits registered. My bitching above is mostly venting tho.
Hmmm I think I might have that shield. Think I picked it up in 1-1 near where the blue dragon sleeps. Have to look again. Will give it a try. Gotta stock up on heals again now :sad:
Doesn’t Demon’s Souls only have two different rolls?
