Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

Dunno. I just know I rolled to the left of the Flame Luker, bumped his big toe and was siphoned in between his legs so that i could a full AOE to the face. Was very annoying. It seems liek in this game if you’re remotely close to anything when you roll it has a HUGE impact on how the roll plays out. I don’t like it.

yeah it has fat and normal.
If you are a melee class time your hits to one or two then get away from him. If you are a mage class just shoot him and run away thats it. helped some people out today with FL Im using a low level royal killed him with just soul arrow not even the upped boss one. Have some flame resist gear. If you are a caster you shouldnt have a problem. Only rolls you have are fat and normal. In either case they will work inregards to getting away from things.

Enjoying my first playthrough of Demon’s Souls immensely so far - familiar, yet different. Feels more videogame-y than DaS - faster, and with less ‘weight’ (maybe ‘physicality’ would be a better word?) to it, but with a great atmosphere and lovely level design (the levels are reminding me very much of the Painted World in terms of structure - I believe the Painted World was the first area From made for DaS, so it makes sense that it would be the most Demon’s-y, I suppose).

Finished 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, and 4-1 so far - is there any specific path through the game that’s best, any level I should definitely do soon (or avoid), or is a pick-and-mix approach fine?

people dont use grass crest shield that much anymore, most people use the heater shield and just use greens to get stamina back. Watch any pvp or speed run most people just use greens

Just save 1-4 for last. You can kill what is technically the last boss before finishing most of the others, but I always preferred not having to do clean up after beating him. Valley of Defilement can be rough at first also if you aren’t prepared.

Got a question, in Dark Souls, when do you generally get past the soft caps? I’m on NG++++, SL 167, and the only thing that I can upgrade with any results is Vitality which is only increasing my maximum health and not boosting my defense stats. Endurance maxes at 40 I believe as far as maximum endurance? Cause all I get from that now is higher eqip burden. Every other stat gives me nothing ATM, just curious if any of the other stats will start going up if I dump into them.

most people stop playing at sl 125-135 cause thats pretty much the meta game for pvp. Unless you want to make a SL50 and use the best gear has you can and kill low lvl players.

Or keep going long enough that you can fast-roll with your Elite Knight Armour on (85 Endurance for me, if you were wondering)…

Well I’m pretty invested in this build ATM, so I’ll keep trudging on. Is it true the game stops increasing difficulty at NG+6? Cause just about every boss is free at this point.

people can tell when you are over leveled and wont fight you

this may be the first game I purchase the guide for

I’m foaming out the mouth for that Black Armour edition SteelBook. but if its around the same price for digital I may just get that since its two copies

I don’t set up any PvP matches, just take care of random invaders. Although I am very tempted to try out some of that cosplay trolling. Shiva in Darkroot wearing no pants is hilarious when people don’t realize it.

there are fight clubs for cosplaying also, you can catch them some times on twitch tv

I believe that to be the case - my melee character is only up to NG+5, so I can’t comment personally.

To be honest, it got to the stage where I would rather play NG with a new type of character than go through again about NG+3…

Master race version of Dark Souls II is coming April 26th. Namco promises it will run a 60 FPS

.

Grass crest is still better IMO, also it’s stamina regeneration stacks with greens.

Anyways I’m definitely going full sorcerer in DS2, as DS1 didn’t make it viable at least for PVP. Sorcery is basically insta kill, but against any decent opponent you won’t land those kill shots very often (unless you have my build), you can’t rely soley on magic to win in PVP you need some investment in melee, but DS2 looks like it will fix that.

I think I’ll go for a dex build for DS2. It was fun bullying my way through the game but I want to give cartwheels a try

I wnated to go for a glass cannon sorcerer build in DaS, but it’s not really viable obviously. People seem to prefer DWGR builds mostly, but my STR/INT/DEX sorcerer hybrid is gdlk I do a ton of damage with spells and moonlight great sword, can easily dead angle with great scythe against those with magic defense, and I can actually take some hits while still keeping medium roll.

Definitely going for a full on glass cannon sorcerer in DS2, should be fun. Also I didn’t think it was possible, but someone made an even better trailer than the don’t give up one:

A lot of people who played the network test build have said DS2 feels a lot more sluggish than DS1, although that is due to the new agility attribute which after investing some points in will make it feel like DS1 timing/movement. Really interested to see how important that becomes as our collective understanding evolves.

I haven’t really been reading about DS2 as I like to go into a new game mostly uninformed, but I heard they were making it so you could be invaded in hollow form.

If true, is there any known way to avoid it? I have zero interest in pvp in these games

Disabling your internet connection to your system should avoid any invasions.

A friend told me about an item that you can use to temporary stall invasions to your world.
