Demon Souls - Should I go through 1-4 or 4-2 first? I find both pretty challenging, I’ve used up all of my eyes twice now on 4-2. The choice would be easy to make but I’ve had a real ‘NOPE’ moment on 1-4 when the dragon perches on the walkway.
Fuckers love to invade on 4-2, twice yesterday I got down to my last eye just to see ‘so and so has invaded’ right as I entered the dungeon. Gotta love it, rinse 4 stones of the ephermal eye in a row, only to be invaded straight at the start of your last serious attempt to make it to the boss.
I did make it to the boss once, but with some help. I just ran and tried to smash him, bit overconfident because of the help. Didn’t go well.
I guess I have to play better. I know there must be a way I can alpha counter these enemies and run straight to the boss. Just need a little composure. I’m sure I can take the boss with a more stealthy approach
Well if you got a decent bow and a matching build, you can snipe the first reaper pretty quickly
Blunt weapons are great on skeletons, piercing weapons are ass on those guys. Fireball is great if you’re a caster.
Magic weapons work alright on skeletons but I kinda remember it being absolute ass on reapers and those slender dudes.
Protect your ass from invisible futas that’ll probably one shot you. Once you hear a women’s laugh, keep your ass against the nearest wall and keep your shield up.
IIRC, all three reapers can be sniped from various points:
1st reaper: From the doorway after you use the switch, or just a little beyond it on the ledge, you can look down at the reaper and shoot it. This is also a good soul-farming spot.
2nd reaper: From the stairway where you encounter a shadowlurker, After you kill it, you can spot it if you look diagonally from the stairs (near where the shadowlurker was), between the pillars on the middle ledge, in the direction from where you first entered the room/area.
3rd reaper: Trigger it’s appearance by stepping out from the 2nd reaper room onto the cliff-side, then go back to the stairs that was near the 2nd reaper and as you start to go up the stairs, look off toward the right and downward and you should be able to spot the 3rd reaper in a small room.
Thanks for the advice earlier. I have a bow for my character but its too high a level, I did give up trying to kill the reapers in the end. I found out my dark silver shield that I got for killing Gard Vinland? It absorbs the magic and I don’t take any damage. I ended up running past everything but the 3 bone guys early on in the stage and 1 ghost. Took 8 tries. The game glitched out in the corridor before the boss 1 time, I was gutted. Obviously punishment for being a bitch.
Killed the boss. And thank **** I am out of there. Don’t even feel like continuing, I exited the game to savor this moment.
And promptly bought Hot Shots and Lumines for my PS Vita that I picked up today. That’s how Demon Souls has made me feel the past few days! haha
Still love the game tho. Not sure at the moment which I prefer out of Demons and Dark. I might like both equally, its very close. Love the challenge, Demons feels a little tougher right now but memories of Dark Souls still lurk from my original play through on launch.
I figured that the spell sword was a replacement for magic weapon. Like an attempt to remove the buffing emphasis of sorceries/pyromancies in invasions.
I picked up Dark Souls and I want to beat it before the next game comes out. Who’s a good starter in this one? I played the Knight in DemS but the Knight is slow and gets overwhelmed easily. Is royalty in this one?
Either sorceror or pyromancer. Either is good, pyromancer being a bit more flexible with builds since you can commit to your pyromancy spells without investing to int so you can build into whatever the hell you want.
You could make a sorceror and not invest into magic just fine but eh lol.
Both of them have spells that are extremely effective in the start of the game.
As for knight, you start out with a good shield if I remember correctly and you can swap out armor just fine.
Apparently people are saying the Knight has cool looking gear in this one (figures)
I mean the Knight is OK at times, for the defense of course. I would hate to pick a weakling at the beginning of the game that dies in one hit, but then again the shit I was getting hit with in Demon Souls took half of my life. I think I’m just going to look at powerful build suggestions so I can get the most out of the game. Thankfully this game is suppose to be easier than Demon Souls, cannot count how many times I died in that game.
