Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

Yes, the club keeps the bleed stat. As far as damage though, it’s only 10pts higher than the battle axe if both are lightning and similarly leveled.

@Aoishi - As for killing NPC’s yeah true it’ll make the game harder, but like I said if you can deal with it, then do it. Obviously no one is going to kill them without giving it some serious thought.

Alright I’m interested in getting back into this game, the first one: Demon Souls. No matter how hard I keep trying, I keep dying. And, it’s only like what the second level hell I don’t even know where I am anymore. The balance in this game is so messed up, why are the monsters so strong and I’m so weak? I’m a knight btw, I read a guide somewhere that they’re easy to get down and I really like him–but he keeps dying. When I die, the enemies re-spawn so I have to work like 10x harder just to get back to where I was at. I don’t think the equipment I have is cutting it, but it’s early in the game so…

Sometimes you come to like a blockade of enemies just waiting to rape your balls. I try to fight off those fucking warewolf thingies and they are just attacking you from all sides and I have no herbs to heal myself. So the next hit means instant death, and there’s nothing you can do. I get far sometimes, only to have some magician throw a fireball at me and I lose 95% of my health. Most of the time that’s instant death too.

I don’t wanna trade this game in, but every time I play I feel like I’m not getting anywhere with it.

Don’t attack head-on. Dodge and counter.

When facing a group, lure an enemy out and attack it one at a time.

Always assume there’s an enemy behind a corner.

Do those things and you’ll go far. You’ll still die a lot though. Muahahah.

Your dodge has invincibility frames on start up, if your reaction is good you can literally dodge 95% of the attacks in the both games. You can probably use a trident paired with a strong great shield, a turtlish combination that makes both games much easier.

Yeah, I tried luring some enemies away from packs and it really helps. I wish the stamina bar was bigger in this game because that’s when I usually get into trouble (when it’s too low and he can’t block). Seriously, I have no idea where to go. Every map is hard and I don’t know which route to take for noobs.

I tried the same path were I defeated the first boss (phalanx or whatever it is) but then it’s starts getting dragon heavy and my knight can’t take getting burned. Tried another area that looks more noob friendly, really slow enemies. But, there’s dogs and magician that set you on fire–instant death. Soooo, I tried ANOTHER area and there’s wizards everywhere and I can never defeat one before they beat me. I think my shield sucks, I always block but he can never hold his ground like a badass. Imma start abusing the roll dodge, but for knights I remember it being horrible compared to other classes IIRC.

Well anyways, I’ll try my best to follow you guys advice. I wanna beat this game, but I stay free to everything in it.

Increasing endurance raises your stamina bar as well as equip weight. Pay attention to your equip weight, if it is over 50% you will fat roll, keep it below and you will be able to roll around like Vega no problem.

For the dragon-heavy part I’m assuming you’re stuck trying to cross the long walkway. If you’re somewhat confident, take off enough of your armor to be able to run fast (same concept as fast rolling = <50%) and just keep running until you get under the tower. Do that for each section.

Classes are more or less just titles as you can build any “class” however you want. The only real difference, minus min-max pvp’ers, are the starting equipment and stats.

Because(also applies to Demon’s),

lol I never even played skyrim, but I see your point.

I’m just a noob, but it took me a while to get down dragon age so I feel like I can work with this game. I’m actually doing a lot better than yesterday (probably because I’ve been turning in souls like a madman).

Sometimes I think it’s a good thing I started with Dark Souls. Because if I woulda’ played Demon’s Souls first I probably would have said “fuck this fucking shit” and never touched the franchise again.

Fact: Completing Demon’s Souls will make you a smarter gamer.

Completing demon souls will make you grow some Kenshiro tier eyebrows of ultimate manliness.

Ok, I killed the Vanguard or whatever that thing is. Took me an hour, goddamn. I couldn’t beat it straight up, just hit and run tactics because it’s yet ANOTHER monster that has ToD (touch of death). There is some annoying fish monsters in the goddamn sky that keep barbing my knight to death, the thief ring does nothing every single time I run past one they toss a barb of death at me. 50% gone right there (if I get hit)–I might use a crossbow or something to get rid of them. They’re annoying.

I don’t think I’m suppose to be here yet, but it’s a great place for Soul Farming. The skeleton monsters can be an issue at times, but that black one has ToD too gotta watch out for his ass. I’ll just continue to Soul Farm this stupid place into I start raking in the cash.

I beat the Armor Spider and tried to explore some more, but some flame looking men ran out double-teamed my knight and he couldn’t defend himself. Ghey.

Been playing King’s Field lately. In retrospect it’s kinda ridiculous how much the Souls series took from it. Even the basic structure of the story where King X becomes corrupt and must be taken down.

Good game too.

the souls games are fantastic

I’m almost finished with my first playthrough of Dark Souls. How’s its New Game+ compared to Demon’s Souls NG+? I remember getting my ass whooped in Demon’s Soul’s version, and I eventually just gave up. It was so long ago that I can’t remember why I had such a hard time. I didn’t have too much trouble with the normal game though. For some reason, when I transitioned to this game originally I had the hardest time getting used to Dark Souls. I actually ended up taking a couple month break and started over a few weeks ago. Anyone else have a problem transitioning?

I hate minecraft, but this shit is amazing.

Duke’s Archive has to be one of my favourite areas in the entire series.

I feel this game has an easier transition to new game+ and it almost became a speed run my third time through. Don’t get me wrong, my first playthough of Dark Souls was harder than Demon Souls at least for me. The open world had me lost a bit but once I knew the ideal path most of the headache vanishes.

Alright I’m business! I got really far in the game after farming shit like crazy. I’ve seen so much and died so many times, but I killed like 2 archdemons. The flame god kept killing my knight because he would get burned, instant death. It’s weird it’s like a puzzle or something, but man I love this crushing claymore! This shit owns everybody, and it’s +5 ohhhh. I use to have problems in that shrine of storms world, but I learned about farming the reaper and eventually I farm those flying fish now. I got some of the games useful stuff like the soul ring, tower shield, and that armor set.

I hate that tower level map goddamn I don’t know where to go. I had to look up someone’s walkthrough because I kept getting caught by wizards and dying.

Alright, now I should be like near the end I killed 4 archdemons. Died so-many-damn-times man. Hahaha.<div><br></div><div>I raped that monk clean. I guess it was because my soul level is high, it’s like 122. I went back to the palace and got near the end another dragon burned my knight, I tried to run through but he like blocks the way and I lost almost all my health. Made up to the boss but he killed me with that sword, and he drains my levels or something. Anyway, I beat him like on the 4th try but then there’s the dragon. I have no idea what to do with it (I tried 200 arrows but he just laughs at my knight and he will get burned he gets too close). Fuck that thing.</div><div><br></div><div>I read the guide and unlocked that door in 1-1 and there’s a sword in there. I like my crushing claymore 5 though so I just wanted to loot the old man but goddamn he has ToDs too (figures)…died like 10 times then formed a strategy to beat him. His armor looks ugly but it’s effective I heard.</div><div><br></div><div>The last area I’m in is some swamp valley. Awkward camera angles and guys surrounding my knight whipping him with clubs. You can’t fight back, I try to run but the swamp slows me down and I’m getting poisoned a lot. I hate this fucking level.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

Honestly the majesty of level five is that the whole world is the boss fight. The bosses including the arch demon in that world are not hard at all. The environment is the thing that gets you. Oh yeah make sure to get items or miracles for plague and poison as well. Items were those flower things cant remember what they are called. armor with high resist to poison and plague help as well.
