so wait a minute I thought Patches had to be killed ASAP? when do you encounter him? I’ve cleared all World 1’s and haven’t encountered him yet.
world 2-2. go left after the armor spider, run past the bombs on the carts, kill the minister, then the big miner, and you’ll end up in the area(huge bearbug). talk to patches, kill the huge bearbug, then talk to him again. not killing him enables you to get the dragon long sword and other goodies further down in 2-2, and to buy heavy arrows from him in the nexus. sorry, typing on the ps3.
I haven’t bothered with anything other than fighters for a looong time, but everything I see, read, and hear about Demon’s Souls makes it seem like it’s a video game that I would actually want to play. I think I’m going to have to try it.
this is the first time in a long time that i’ve had a game that has made me pull all-nighters.
Somethings sound too good to be true, that isn’t the case with Demon’s Souls. I have been gaming for a long time and it has been at least SNES days that a game made me think about it and dream about it. It has that kind of draw.
It is like cooked crack.:smokin:
Never fucked with crack, but I have seen what is does.
I’ve been playing it non-stop for the last week or so, I started with thief, switched to Templar Knight then went to Mage.
Each “class” has a specific way to play and no matter what type of character I make the way they play are still fresh and rewarding. And everything feels so epic without the need to be over dramatic. God I love this game.
Mages imo are almost OP, they’re so good. In this game range seems to trumph/glitch so many different bosses/enemies that mages just rape face most bosses. I went 2 str to use the heater shield and 1 vit then the rest went into both Magic and Int. I tried to keep it equal but I put more emphasis on Magic cause when it comes to Mages “Quality is better then quantity.”
Playing my thief I kept thing “Oh shit… hows my mage gonna past this.” Then I got the Cresent Falcion +1 from 4-1 and now while my thief sits in the Nexus my Mage is almost done with the game.
Thieves and light builds in general seem to be the weakest overall. They have a lot of things they can do, but this game is a dungeon-crawler, and there are a number of places where you pretty much just have to give in and engage in close combat in tight spaces. The thief’s ring, Warding, and dumb AI make things easier, but it can be tough when the game decides it’s had enough of your crap and throws you in a real melee.
I’m looking forward to my 99 stamina so I can roll around like an idiot with heavy armor.
That’s very true, that’s why the Crescent Falchion +1 was such a life saver, since I kept pumping my Magic stat bigtime it kept adding to the magic damage stat so it was a substitute for my str/dex if I didn’t have that sword this would be a way different game lol. And even as a Mage bows still come in handy especially for fighting/farming reapers in 3-2.
But I’m debating should I raise my str. for a compound longbow or max out a compound short bow? What do you guys think.
Dex will help with your falchion and you can use spiderstone to make any bow a dex-based weapon.
I’d hear of it, but went back to finish farming spiderstones to get too far in world 4, plus I want to finish world 1. and I gotta find an anti magic field then
I’d agree with this, I have a royal but have gotten through phalanx, red dragon, tower knight, flame lurker, and broke rubble fighting the Dragon God using Soul Arrow. I can’t imagine how much easier it would be if I had more than 1 spell.
Only just a little, actually.
Flame toss hurts random mobs a trifle more.
this game is the truth…
I’m a priest wielding a miridan hammer and a purple flame shield…
Lookin for cloudstones for that shield upgrade to dark purple…
Ive been up all weekend playing this game. Owns my time right now. I have notice one thing about this game, it has only gotten easier.
First level was just a pain, but now every boss is just cake. I just fought off the Leechmonger in just a few hits.
BTW i’ve gotten to co-op with a few guys that have just been SUPER helpful. Showed me where some hidden items and just made the level crawling that much more of breeze.
you can buy them from a merchant in 4-1, but I hear you don’t need to go dark purple if you have a magic shield, since that’s all dark purple path nets you, magic damage reduction. Normal path gives you more hit resistance
man the merchant that was in the cell that was selling bows?.. He left…
And lol… I set yurt free…
I guess i have to be on the lookout for him…
I’m a cheap bastard…
So my luck is at 20…
So upgrading a compound longbow with spiderstone will lower the str requirement?
Maybe? I dunno I just talked to him while I was looking for the compound long bow, though I do think I remember him being in a cell. and yeah kill yurt when you can from what I hear.
no but it will make dex the main stat that it looks at for damage, and you need to get it to +2 or +3 before you can switch it to a sticky compound long bow from the blacksmith in 2-1
Flame Toss literally my MVP spell it’s my bread and butter I don’t know if if it’s because everything is vunerable to fire or because it’s just that badass of a spell the only part it doesn’t work well in is of course world 2 so I’d suggest hooking that up if you can
Sorry for the double post
i really wish i would have made my tendency pure before i beat the game. Do you guys think i should go pure white or black in new game plus??
pure black, stronger enemies and access to some better items that only appear in all black.
Make sure you go for the bad ending too, so you can get that red eye stone too.
