I’m not even going to attempt that area until I equip myself properly to fight the ghosts.
What does it do though?

Reduce curses, Humanity helps raise your resistance to curses too.
Sorry forgot to mention. The ring causes the curse meter to become longer. So basically it will take a lot longer before you turn to stone and get cursed.
And if you’ve killed Nito you sure as hell are ready for ghosts lol.
Nito was like, one of the easiest bosses I’ve fought so far. Lmao.
All I had to do was stay under him and block when he shat out all that black stuff. Actually, that attack helped me out because it killed all the skeletons around me. Very disappointing fight indeed.
All I could think while watching the opening game cutscene was “Wow, that guy looks badass! I can’t wait to fight him!”
And then I fight him and it was mega lame.
Same story with the Gaping Dragon.
This is a very good cast. Worth listening.

He was kinda disappointing. But his theme still made the fight feel epic.
Every single time this game just sets the mood perfectly for all the bossbattles with the music.
But I found Nito to be one of the hardest bosses in NG+ IF you fight him ‘legit’. Meaning triggering all the skeletons in the room with him. This big skeletons are a effin pain to deal with.
Yeah… sounds dumb lol. I just fought him at the entrance after killing off a few skeletons with a divine weapon.
also, on Seath, if you’re cursed, you have half health, which is a bad thing, a purging stone or some such will give you your health back so you don’t die quite so fast.
Ghosts are incredibly weak, just don’t bother blocking and use a cursed weapon or transient curses and you’ll demolish them, there are a couple of sections where they’ll pop up behind you and ambush you but you should be fine if you play it safe enough. You can buy the curses from the Female Undead Merchant in the sewer canal just above Firelink Shrine as well.
Hell if you’re already cursed (half health) you don’t even need to bother with that, you can hit them normally.
Yeah I know lol. I didn’t know you had to trigger the skeletons, I thought they would automatically all come after you, so I just ran around like an idiot lol… And for some reason I always forget that you can kill the skeletons with a divine weapon during the fight.
Btw here’s a video I watched the other day. Gave me a good laugh, especially the ending.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate and say that you must be one godlike player. You’ve either beaten bosses on the first go or “it wasn’t too hard” or even both.
I finished Demon’s Souls on NG+… twice, so I wasn’t your average first time Dark Souls player. I knew from the outset EXACTLY what I was doing and researched everything so that when I made my character I was properly set up for each of the fights and had an idea of what to do. When I fought Artorias I had Elite Knights Chest and Legs +10, Paladin Helm and Gauntlets +5, Silver Knights Shield +5, Dragonslayers Spear +5, Ring of Favour and Protection and Wolf’s Ring with at least 100 soul level. Guess you can think of me like a raider in WoW that approaches a boss fight after researching the mechanics with raid experience, just needing to put it into practice. I’m also a pretty legit Monster Hunter player.
Overall I think Dark Souls WAS easier than Demon’s Souls, but there were sections in the game that were particularly challenging, like managing Blightown without a limitless stock of curatives and that long grind through Sen’s and Anor Londo until you can get back.
I died a ton of times the first time I wandered into the Painted World as well, definitely wasn’t prepared for that as well as I should have been.
^^
frosty your avatar has completely traumatised my girlfriend. just thought id let you know lol.
Well that changes everything then if you were on NG+, in which case I retract my statement. Your posts just make it sound like you had no problem on your first run through.
Oh? First run through? No issues for Artorias or the Four Kings. That Artorias fight with that gear WAS my first run through, I just have a lot of Demon’s Souls experience and experience with Monster Hunter, you should fight some of those bosses…
I think whichever souls game you played first is the hardest. Once you get around to the 2nd game, you kinda know what to expect.
Though imo, Demon souls bosses > Dark souls bosses. Then there’s some nitpicking between the two on other details.
Dark souls bosses definitely are weak the second half of the game.
Bring back Man Eaters on narrow ledge.
Some of the fights in Demon’s Souls were stupidly easy, others were a complete wtf, especially because of how long it took to get to them, I mean Old Hero was manageable once you stopped trying to block him and walked quietly and snuck up on him but the Reapers / Gold Skeletons to get to him were nuts. Likewise getting up to the final boss (excluding the old king, that’s not really a fight) required you going through a bunch of hard enemies before a fight that was way more challenging than Gwyn. That was especially tiresome if you had low dex as it took ten years to kill that dragon which you pretty much had to do if Biorr died before you killed the boss.
Demon’s Souls felt more polarizing in terms of how well your character could handle fights, like pretty much any build can handle every fight in Dark Souls, there are just different strategies, if you were building pure strength though you’d have a very hard time handling the last boss on Shrine of Storms though as you NEED to use a ranged weapon. You also didn’t have all the NPC summons to make fights easier if you couldn’t find a co - op buddy.
What are you talking about? You’re supposed to use the Storm Ruler for the 4-3 boss which any build can wield it. As for the dragon you merely have to avoid its fire breath and sprint past it, killing the dragon is completely optional.
Thank you.
That sword was a set piece specifically for said fight.
And every time I killed the Black Dragon, it was from underneath the inside of the gate, with poi arrows.

Hardest bosses for me were O&S, and trying to cut Seath’s tail…
