I like my default priest look though.
Default female thief armor is pretty awesome, I don’t think I’m going to change it. I gave her chainmail once but she looked pretty dumb so I took it off. It probably slowed her down a bit too, but it was really a purely cosmetic choice because I’m stupid like that.
I played a bit more on my new game and it seems that once you clear 1-1, 4-1, 2-1, and 2-2 you are pretty much set. You’ve got 4-2 reaper farming and the ability to buy small and large sharpstone/hardstone shards, plus access to the second blacksmith and the ability to fuse boss soul weapons. Mages might still be lacking a bit but otherwise it’s pretty much smooth sailing from there. Knight still feels way easier than thief.
Just finished my first playthrough, think I’m gonna start a new run and maybe streamline my dude a bit more. Still don’t want to try as pure Mage or Thief yet though.
soeaking of armor, what armor do u use on your thief, i have some heavy crap on. making me slow.
Just the starting thief armor. IMO it looks the coolest and I’ve been taking full advantage of the speed so I don’t want anything heavier to slow me down. Anytime I absolutely need higher defense I just cast the Warding spell, but generally the game doesn’t force you into many corners like that so everything seems doable with a light character build, it just might take a little more thought/execution. Basically the Maneater fight was the only time I just couldn’t get through without warding, and I probably just suck.
^ no man maneater is a crazy boss. im still stuck on it, so im gunna move on to area 4 and come back later. but yeah, i guess ill switch back to default armor. i was wearing the wizard armor, and that still is pretty good and doesn’t decrease your speed. Also where did you find that weapon you used you mentioned on the previous page?
The Kilij? I believe it’s in the courtyard in 4-1 near where you fight Vanguard, the boss from tutorial level. I think there’s a katana around there too, which I have also used quite a bit, although it’s not that good in close spaces.
Ugh, I kept on dieing the most stupidest ways on 4-1… So as 1-3. =_-;
The crescent falchion on 4-1 is beasty for Magicians! I suggest you get it asap.

I think maybe I will play another level for a while, half the time I end up dying on the fall down back there in 2-2 anyway.
Also, using curved swords makes you look like a fruit if you are the knight and have a full set of armour on already. What’s the point of killing all these incredibly difficult bosses if you don’t look cool while doing it?
It owns the rolling knights too.
Abjudicator Shield + Regen Ring = Hax. I feel so beast now. Game is starting to feel TOO EASY! =) jk. Actually, the last 3 bosses I’ve killed were really easy. Messages on the ground def helped.
Btw, I couldn’t find the Purple Flame Shield. All I got were the Ring of Strength and Ring of Flame Resist.
I wish I had used spells sooner. I got the Soul Arrow spell for my Wanderer and killed the 4-1 boss with it. That boss ended up being pretty easy. Just roll > spell > roll, and he’s done.
Also, I got some leather armor for my wanderer and lightened my load. Now I don’t have to wear that stupid ring of great strength anymore! :woot:

He’s in front of the world 3 gatestone for me.
He hangs out by the world 3 archstone. I think you have to kill the giant bug he’s next to in 2-2 and beat the boss, and if you’re in 4-2 you might have to save saint urbain from the pit and beat the boss to make him show up in the nexus.

Anyone dual wielding? Wanting to build a duel Katana badass…
I really want to dual wield but the penalties for a missed parry are quite severe, especially if you are a lightly armored thief, and you don’t really get many of the benefits that dual wielding would normally give you. Most of the time it just isn’t practical, and larger weapons have shitty parry windows so it makes dual wielding them even worse. I do want to eventually dual wield greatswords with my knight character just because it would be funny, preferably with dual keel smashers (or whatever they changed the name to in the US release).
If I can get my hands on a paring dagger though I might mess around with my dagger/claws combo since it looks pretty cool, and since that dagger is made for parrying it should be a bit more practical.
Hmm odd, when my brother logged in his game, he saw the blue knight guy (sitting on the stairs) on the Nexus disappeared, and there was a soul item on his spot…
That’s really odd… can a black phantom appear on the Nexus?
