I like the Dragonslayer Bow, but I’m wondering how many of those arrows I need to take down the Hellkite Dragon. Also, can it regenerate health or something? I was doing decent damage to him, but I felt like I wasn’t making much progress. I guess he just has a ton of life.
I heard he regens if he’s camped on the ledge.
Yeah, if you attack him from below the bridge and bring him below 25%, he’ll start regenerating faster than you can hurt him. If you try to run up the bridge while he’s regening, he’ll already be full by the time you reach it.
If you attack it from under the bridge you should only go as far as to get the Drake Sword, and then quit.
By the time you can kill it without glitch killing, you could probably just farm the 20k souls it’s worth in a few minutes over at Darkroot.
He’s only worth 10k sadly. Would be amazing though if worth 20k, saves me the trouble of having to kill Stray Demon for the 20k used for the Crest of Astoria.
I have gotten to NG+++ and beaten the game on two other characters and not once bought that crest for the door. What do you guys use the souls for? I always have too many to spare.
I’ve never bought it on my first play-through but I I buy it for my pvp re-rolls; up to my sixth one right now, can’t find a build that suits me.
Anyway the faster I get to 40 or 50, the easier it becomes for me to ring two bells and make the Dragon covenant run.
How are you guys NOT buying it?

I began to notice this after joining the Forest Covenant. Enemies I was one shotting are now requiring two hits, on the same loadout that I had. The enemies are also giving more souls now when dying,
Weapon’s not broken, and everything is in good standing, my character is just as it was… except that I’ve leveled a few more times and upgraded my gear.
Everything was going fine until I started killing people for this damn cat.
Its happened a few times. I’m collecting 400 souls a pop for the plant dudes in Darkroot where I was previously netting 100 per. It feels like like the difference in the NG+'s in DS.
Needless to say, this has made areas I’ve not yet ventured crazy hard (and fun), but having to go through areas I’d been breezing through a bit tedious due to more necessary caution than usual.
Anyone know what’s going on?
You need it eventually anyway. The alternative is killing Andrei, he drops it, but then you lose a blacksmith.
^ You can kill the Hydra at the lake, then use the ladder to get to the forest that way. If you kill Sif, that door unlocks permanently without the key. It’s easier just to buy the key, though.
Supposedly there’s a bug in PvP where if you PvP against someone in NG+ or up, your game becomes NG+. By the sounds of the health increase and the souls increase(everything gives 3X more souls in NG+) you’re glitched. Are you taking a lot more damage as well?
Hella more damage. I seem to’ve NG++'d at this time.
Why do you need it? Unless you’re in the forest covenant or farming souls there, there’s really no reason to open up that shortcut.
Yeah, I bumped into those guys behind the crest door accidentally after I killed the hydra and went up the ladder near the waterfall. Was not prepared for that fog ring knight dude, shit, he murderized my ass.
Oh what the fuck - I killed Priscilla last night without getting a chance to cut her tail off. Isn’t she supposed to turn visible again after she takes a certain amount of damage? She was invisible the entire fight, what the fuck! Is the unique dagger any good? Someone tell me it sucks so that I can feel better.
i dont know about the quality of the dagger, seems like it could be good, has serious bleed stats. and ya she is supposed to turn visible after a certain point, usually half life is what i seen. I cut her tail off in 1 hit. since she doesnt attack your at the beginning try to make your first hit on the tail, if it doesnt fall off wait till she becomes visible.

Does the blacksmith in new londo ruins do anything the others don’t? I literally just found him yesterday…he would have helped on my first playthrough when I had no idea how to repair my weapons way back when.
Turns specific +10 weapons and boss souls into boss weapons.
He also does the higher occult and faith weapon upgrades.
He also uses Magic and Enchanted embers.
Question, do summons need to wear Covenant of Artorias to help fight the 4 Kings? And holy fuck they have a ton of HP in NG+
actually the blacksmith in anor londo does the boss weapons not the one in new londo, the new londo one does magic and enchanted.

You have to watch for Priscilla’s footprints and whack her 3 or 4 times to knock her out of invisibility or she’ll just sit there the whole time. Try a weapon with a wide sweeping range.
Think I ran into a glitcher/hacker or something last night. Was in the Duke’s archives and got invaded, set the guy up and took most of his health in 4 hits after he slid down a ladder…he rolled and climbed back up the ladder, got to the top and cast a spell. I figured it was a healing spell, but he jumped down from the ladder(the one in prison chamber) and took zero damage.
I approached him and nothing would hit him. Both my swords whiffed, my spells locked on and hit him for zero damage. He killed me. Now I have all the Pyromancy spells, Miracles and Magic spells, and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a complete invincibility spell… Seemed kinda bullshitty to me…
