Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

What would be a good soul level to start a NG+ (i.e., to be in a soul level range that has a lot of co-op, invasions, etc.)? I’m currently level 65, grinding clams for twinkling titanite and darkwraiths for slabs, and only have Kiln of the First Flame left to do, and I was wondering if my current level would be in a similar range to other players starting NG+.

I know that there’s a sorcery spell called Fall Control that prevents fall damage, so that could explain him not taking damage from the fall at least.

Don’t grind clams. You’ll be able to purchase twinkling from the AL blacksmith for 8k souls once the patch comes out.

ya might have been a glitch or could have been a weird combination of spells + weapons/armor?

that reminds in demon’s when i was running with a mage i had this catalyst that was mega beastly and then maybe a dagger? or a tailsman that increased your magic damage like 2-3 fold but halved your total magic. so id roll with one in each hand and the damage was the craziest shit ever, i also had like 90 magic though hahaha (there might have been scaling based on this too? i dont remember the specifics it’s been too long). all bosses died in one fire storm spell and so did everyone in pvp if they didnt have magic barrier. the only down side is you have to time it right to be able to have it hit because of it’s start up.

it’s shit like that that makes me want to study dark souls more to see if there are synergies between weapons and armors that exist to create badass shit.

the other day, there was a dude in sen’s fortress who would invade and was a cleric and all he did was cast force and basically you would die from falling off from shit HAHAHAHA. i gave him props cause it was too funny.

Currently soul level 32 and working my way through Sen’s Fortress, what’s a good place to farm right now other than the Trees/Golems in Darkroot?

Ah, ok, thanks, that’s good to know. I guess I can start U3 this weekend, and just pick up Dark Souls again once the patch comes out.

I’m suspecting it was the magic shield spell glitch players are mentioning…

Why can’t I beat anyone in the forest? I’m starting to think people are just hanging out there to farm ME.

So I finally beat that Balrog looking fire demon. I just hung around the entrance to his lair and waited for someone to put out that co-op marker so I could get some help. The guy that helped me fell 10 seconds before the demon did. I felt bad for him but he let me know that he did get credit for it. Then I went on and I slew the Dragon God. Stupid beast was no match for my wits. It wasn’t even really a fight, just kind of a puzzle. So now I have defeated an Archdemon and I can go into that creepy white fog that I seen in the first area. I’m stoked.

some people do actually do that. Anyway, when you’re in the Forest Covenant, it ignores the “within 10% of your SL” rule. So if you’re low level in that covenant, you’re kinda screwed half the time. It’s better once you reach the average levels of everyone else.

I guess I’ll just have to farm souls to buy all the items/spells off the Forest merchant then. Geez. I don’t have half these spells I get spammed with.

Forest covenant merchant doesn’t sell spells, just weapons and a ring.

Kill the ninja take his ring.

Maybe when the patch comes out so I can target him regardless of Ring of Fog.

It’s only good if you like daggers.

The only thing I like about Priscilla’s dagger is that when you max the bleed bar, it automatically does 500 damage.

That explains a lot…kept having forest Covy players run up and hit me…see the damage, and then turn and run…

You can just farm inside Sen’s, with a high stability shield (60+ish) and by utilizing the traps to your advantage you can kill almost everything there without much effort (the mages that camp by the swinging blades should be the only ones to give you trouble).

Or… Grab the Lightning Spear and the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring, and head back to Blighttown. Throw your white soul marker outside Queelag (it’s 10k souls for each person you help kill her) and farm the leeches in Blighttown while you wait (they drop Green Titanite Shards and Large Titanite Shards - if you had intended to buy these at Sen’s, you can save yourself a lot of souls here).

Don’t level too high above 33 if you plan on doing this as the accepted average level at Queelag is 30.

Patch needs to come faster. I can’t stand how poor PVP is in this game, at least for the 360 version.

I hope the patch fixes the way soul arrows shoot with lock on because I’m locked on but somehow the soul arrow doesn’t aim towards them…

A lot of the armor I’ve been finding lately haven’t been suitable for Wanderers (i.e. I don’t want to be bogged down). I’m still wearing the Nazghul gear (the gold trimmed equipment), which seems like the best equipment for mobility.

Without taking poise into account, I’m inclined to say it’s the best light armor w/o poise in the game.

I personally love the thorns armor. It does little damage but it’s fun to troll pvp by just rolling around and doing damage.
