That’s why I like this game…I can just sit there plotting my route, knowing it’s gonna be a bitch, and then diving into it head first and seeing if I can survive it. Just started New Game+ yesterday, went straight into the Catacombs for my Rite of Kindling. My character’s level 96 and I’m getting hit like I have level 1 vitality. :wow:
Wow, FUCK that stat scaling. Going from 39 to 40 gives the same increase as going from 40 to 49. Dex is fucking useless.
Leveling from 8 to 18 gives you the same increase as going from 41 to 99
Giant Blacksmith (Fapsmith): Sells Arrows / Crossbolts, Small Titanite Shards, Large Tit Shards, Twinkling (8000 per, inf amount), Green Shards, Repair box, upgrade boxes

We are done, clams.
i dont think you need the rite of kindling again in new game plus? but ya on the vitality thing, same thing with me but i play a “mage”. to a certain point i think putting stats into your vitality is futile you’ll only get a few extra hundred points of HP from like 50 to 99, and those few hundred are gone in one hit. you might be able to survive and extra half of a full hit. ive never worn seriously good armor in any souls game so im not sure how much it helps to wear really heavy defense stat armor. probably helps a lot in reducing damage taken? when i watched that speed run vid from the japanese dude when he equipped some stone armor to fight the 4 kings he was taking almost no damage.
also, in new game plus ive noticed ive been getting hella weird soul rewards from some mini bosses and bosses, like 15735 or 28978. like…wtf? im at the point where 1 stat point cost more than 100k, which is pretty serious.

That stat table is for 1.03, not 1.04, so we don’t know if/how it changed
You can get the bonfires up to 20 flasks on New Game Plus…whatever you kindled them to on the first run carries over to NG+.
really? i dont remember getting the rite to kindle again, maybe i just over looked it, there are still some bonefires that i only get +5 flasks at, doesnt really bother me though, maybe that is why i havent noticed.

On the 1st playthrough, if you upgraded the bonfires to 15, they’ll still be 15 on NG+, then you can add 5 more…I’m getting duplicates of most of the items now too…wondering what happens if I get a second Gold Covy ring…would that give me 600 on item drop? I can dual wield Drake Swords if I want to.
You can get 20 on the first run. That’s what the rite of Kindling allows.
Rite allows you to kindle twice. Bonfires by keepers can be kindled to twenty, normal bonfires go to 15.
Are you sure? I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten other bonfires to 20
Yeah, I have the bonfire outside Sen’s Fortress at 20 and I’m still on NG.
The increase in soul drops sounds interesting. I wonder how drastically this will affect average player levels.
I wouldn’t think it would affect it at all. People will just progress to whatever the agreed average is faster is all
Getting souls will be like getting souls in NG+ if its 2-2.5 multiplier. If you’re grinding the skeletons near the Drake, you’ll get around 1.2k souls. Thats a lot of souls.
You can enforce any bonfire for 20 estus except the Lordvessal for some odd reason.
You mean zombies/undead, not skeletons right?
Anyone have a table for the bonuses of weapons in 1.04? I have a character with a bunch of souls ready to level up but want to wait to see what weapons get good bonuses so I can decide on a weapon…
I guess. They look like skeletons so I call them that.
Shrug
The New Game+ soul gain is pretty mean…the forest Covy NPCs drop 6000K with each one killed now…It’ll just get players more up to speed with NG+ difficulty, I can’t even imagine being below level 80-90 on NG+ with the way I’m getting thrashed on occasion. Enemy health isn’t drastically increased, but the sheer damage they deal is painful if you get sloppy. Black Knight in the Undead Asylum revisit whacked me for 900 damage on a two hit strike, the Bone doggy creatures in Tomb of Giants killed me in one hit with Lautric’s ring on, I was sitting at 1300 Vitality.
I didn’t notice it any other area so far, but in the Tomb of Giants some of the giant Giant Skeletons and the Bone doggy ones had a red aura around them(this one 1 hit killed me) in NG+, and were much much harder to kill. Not sure if this is for NG+ or because of the order I was going through the game…but ouch.
Well, there are ACTUAL skeleton enemies in the game, and they’re very different, so you have to make sure you’re talking about the right ones.
Red aura enemies means your world has been Gravelorded. Find the Gravelord Servant’s sign to invade him and kill him (or wait until he dies himself/logs out/leaves the area) to get rid of the red aura enemies.
so you were right about the rite of kindling, i just got it again last night in NG++, never noticed to be honest, my bad.
did you guys know those skelletons that roll around on that spiked wheel drop a spike wheel shield? in the description it says it has a 3 hit attack move and the shield is GIANT, but my stats are not good enough to use it so i dont know how beastly it is hahaha.
last night i invaded the world of a guilty, and he had summoned another player and that dude had some miracle spell that had an AOE that just did damage to me when when i was standing in the AOE, crazy shit. i managed to kill the other guy and then just waited until it sent me back because i couldnt get close to the other dude, it was pretty crazy whatever the spell was.
