Well, patch is apparently only out in jpn so far and sony approved it apparently so it’ll hit US psn next, unless they are waiting for MS too.
Yeah, dragon head glitch is fixed.

Since there is an upcoming patch I decided to just go and beat the game today, so now on NG+. I pretty much only leveled endurance (its like at 68 now) this play through, with a couple on dexterity.
Might try to finish Etrian Odyssey 3 now (fucking Abyssal God and Elder Dragon are damn hard) and play some Generations. Definitely playing through this again though.
Hey guys! Just letting everybody know that info on weapons scaling has been released. Looks really good from what I see.
Also, there’s a youtube vid showing the pyromancy nerf. R.I.P Iron Flesh.
I don’t see any changes listed on that site
Definitely not R.I.P. This test was unarmored, if you’re wearing armor the damage reduction is still going to help if you’re already a tank anyway, just isn’t going to totally make it broken vs some bosses.
Thanks for the links though
Have you tried clicking on the weapon/armor and looking at the stats? Seems like once you reach a certain upgrade(+14 for regular weapon or +5 for specials), the scaling increases by a letter.
More of an exaggeration really. Four Kings is going to be a more annoying fight on NG+++ though.
Edit: ah nevermind, I didn’t realize you could actually click on each individual weapon name.
What I don’t get about that site are those numbers directly under the scaling letters. For example a +15 Demon’s Greataxe has 150 under the S.
I can’t imagine that being the % value of the added scale bonus, 50STR only adds 75 damage which doesn’t look right.
If anyone knows the song in the video it would be greatly appreciated, sounds like something from Ghost In the Shell. :china:
The numbers serve to help differentiate one B scaling to another B scaling. I’m sure you’ve noticed that two weapons that appear to have the same scaling don’t actually scale the same.
It’s hard to say anything else about those numbers without having something to cross-reference this info with and without knowing how these things are calced, but it is still possible that the numbers are the % value of the scaling bonus - remember that not all STR and not all DEX are equal (in our current version, points in STR become much less effective after you hit 40).
lol, gold hemmed black cloak getting nerfed.
ok i just got fucked over.
i offered 30 fucking humanity to quelaag’s sister which is supposed to rank your covenant to +2, but it only ranked me to +1, so i busted my ass to and fro for no goddamn reason.
wtf, my iron flesh is not that beastly, i still get staggered by certain boss attacks and take damage. like the 4 kings and nito often stagger me and do like 20% damage from certain attacks…whatever though.
im outi
Roberth
The only boss that absolutely eats through iron flesh is the giant lava lobster in the demon ruins before lost izalith. If you don’t run away from that fucking claw you will get your shit pounded in.
Whoa, thanks for the equipment info, guys ;o
I have to say, I lost a lot of hype for that game after playing Dark Souls.
I dunno, I guess my hunger for an “adventures type” game was satisfied after playing Dark.
Remember getting all wet and shit for any kind of Dark Souls footage when people got it early. Tried to watch any stream I could when I had a chance, watching people getting raped by dark phantoms, thought to myself “HOLY FUCK DIS GAME IS HARD!!” when in reality, the game trolled them.
People have Skyrim and streams up by now, but… saw a stream and just didn’t carreeeeeeeeee…
I’ll buy the game, but I can wait.
Lightning weapons still look beastly. Looks like they added some new armor sets?
I don’t see why you can’t like both DaS and TESV? They really aren’t the same type of game at all despite sharing many similarities so playing one shouldn’t really affect how you feel about the other?
For people who are confused about stat scaling, its already answered here(http://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls/comments/lxtsh/stat_scaling_question/).
Also, there are some in-depth patch notes from a player with the jpn version. Check it out.
Official Guide nerfed. Hilarious.
Why look at it as an open world game? Dark Souls’ design reminds me more of a MetroidVania style world than anything else. You can technically go into a lot of places in Symphony of The Night kinda early, and you’ll get owned there too. You’re allowed to venture into areas, but eventually you’ll reach some point where you have to turn back and go somewhere else. You can go most places in Dark Souls if you got the balls and you can parry, and the areas where you’re gonna get owned are shut off for a reason…but it doesn’t take long to open a bunch of areas up.
Take the Master Key. I started a character, ran through the Undead Burg, and instead of going to the Taurus Demon, I went down, dodged Havel and wound my way up through the Darkroot Basin. Went the back way into the Undead Burg, beat the Gargoyles, took the Valley of Drakes shortcut to Blighttown, summoned some players for help on Queelog, sprinted into the Demon Ruins and snagged the Gold Hemmed armor set when I was level 17 or something. Had access to the Depths, Sen’s Fortress, Demon Ruins, Great Hollow, Ash Lake about 2 1/2 hours into the game. It’s just like Super Metroid in that respect, risk vs. reward. Wanna get good shit fast, wander off the beaten path.
sweet they increased lock-on range, super happy about tranquil nerf and you can hit Select to rate messages!
That’s some hardcore sequence breaking right there.
