Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

Anyone got a guess at the minimum stats needed to wield most weapons/armor?

I know it was about 32 STR/30 DEX in Demon’s…

EDIT: Looks like it’s 58/20 if you want to one-hand some axes and blunt weapons. GEEZ.

I highly doubt we’ll get any new area DLC since the game is all interconnected and there’s no randomly blocked off areas people can’t go to yet. If they made a new area, it would have to be something like the Painted World which would be awfully random since they’d have to add something new to a level somewhere that wasn’t there before.

Let alone Japan not believing in DLC

Smough’s is retarded.

Shoutouts to Japanese beliefs.

lol indeed

Okay I’m stupid, help me I’m retarded.

I don’t know how to make a weapon +10, or +15, or + a billion plus element and boss stuff on it, WTF do I do?
I got a fuck loud of boss souls, got all kinds of shards and lots of them. I got all this shit to help make the perfect weapon, know where to find the hidden smiths and stuff, but how the fuck do I go about doing this?

Tried turning a generic board sword into an awesome sword, failed back.
Got up to +6, then made it raw, then fucked up.

Like, how do I get it to +10, and how do I make it awesome?
WHAT DO!?!?!?

If you normally refine a weapon to +10 or +5 in some cases like going to a fire wep I believe, then you can go ascend it to another level. For example refine a weapon to +10, then go to Anor Londo and talk to the Giant and he can create a boss weapon if you have the stuff. Then you can upgrade that to +5 if you want. The undead parish blacksmith will do stuff like Lightning and Fire, and the guy in the catacombs can do Chaos stuff for you. You can check the dark souls wiki if you want a better explanation.

Flowchart example: +10 uchigatana -> go to Andrea (parish guy) -> go make it lightning -> refine to +5

edit: weird it doesn’t list andrei as being able to ascend to lightning but I’m pretty sure I ascended to lightning from him. But then again it is a wiki…

ok here is what you do.

for boss souls ONLY the giant blacksmith in anor londo can make weapons with boss souls. they all need to be +10 before you can make them, except for catalysts.

anyone can do a weapon to +5. you need a large ember to get it to +10, you need a very large ember to get it to +15 and this can only be done through Andrei.

for element weapons. all weapons need to be at +10 (except for maybe raw?), then depending on what element you want you have to take it to a specific blacksmith and have the embers.

Giant = crystal, lighting
Andrei = +15, raw
rickert = magic, enchanted
Vamos = chaos, flame

when you are upgrading it to +10, just keep looking to see what the requirements are in the upper right corner, it will tell you what and how many “elements” you need. basically when you get your weapon to +10 you need to go to “modify weapon” and to specific blacksmith to whose element you want for them to switch it to that element.

here is an example. say that i want a +10 enchanted club. I would reinforce the club to +5, then take it to andrei to get it past +5 to +6, from +6 to +10 you can use reinforce. at +10 i would take it to ricket and modify it to enchanted club, then you just keep upgrading it to +10

does that help?

im outi

Might start a new game. I want to see what the stat modifications are now. THANK GOD for that faith requirement reduction. 50 was fucking stupid.

Considering that you could reduce that by 5 for every person you helped, I thought it was no big deal at all. I helped way more than 10 people by the time I even know where the covenant was lol

Anyone else like de-hyped for Skyrim after playing Dark Souls?

The fact that it’s a bethesda game is reason enough for me to be de-hyped. Hype levels will rise with the GOTY edition.

Been de-hyped ever since I tried to play Oblivion. Never been hyped for Skyrim. I’m still loving and cracking out on Dark Souls.

I think the patch comes out tomorrow. And yeah, that 50 faith requirement wasn’t a big deal since helping people was easy. And hurray for Solaire fix. I thought I screwed up somewhere when I couldn’t summon him in my NG+. I was so scared to tackle the bosses by my lonesome self!

Oblivion was just aiigt. I played the shit out of Morrowind though. Anyway enough about Elder Scrolls, wooooo Dark Souls

Question, how come sometimes I die and I revive with 1 humanity?

You randomly get humanity slowly when you’re in a new area, so sometimes you get it even after you’ve died. Either that or the game just randomly and rarely gives some to you when you die in a new area.

Every Bethesda WRPG I’ve played has been mind-numbingly boring.

I grinded out to 50 faith for that specific covenant. I would’ve coop’d, but that shit is dead in NG++. I kind of want to boot my game up now to see the changes…I wonder if specific stat-scaling weapons hit a lot harder. Casters seem to scale a lot better than melee, I wonder if the gap is still as big. I also want to kill the Bed of Chaos again so I can get the armor of thorns set, I’d have every single weapon/armor piece if I were to nab that set. That boss is random and really annoying, though.

YES im glad they fixed that stupid 1 second delay attack, now i know im not the only one. Did they fix the infinite soul/item glitch? It mentions infinite weapon/magic usage, not sure if theyre the same thing.

Anyone ever die and turn their console off in disgust, only to find that when you come back on, you’re right at the spot you died at and can pickup your souls?
