God damn this game is fucking awesome! I got owned at the dragon though, lol.
My gamestop had only 1 copy, I guess this game’s pretty low profile.
Try using the scimitar you pick up in 1-1, I have been using it as my main weapon since I got it and making fairly steady progress through the game. Don’t forget to upgrade it as often as possible, and remember that you can hit triangle to hold your weapon two-handed to do more damage. Also upgrade your endurance so you can have a lot of stamina to roll around and use two-handed attacks, and make good use of your bow when possible.
Bosses seem to be the hardest part for a thief, especially if they can force you into more direct combat. Thieves just don’t have the HP to take those kinds of hits, so even with careful planning it can really come down to your actual skill.
If you win against the tutorial boss, you get its soul and you go to another area and there is an bigger and badder boss. There is a short cutscene when you walk up to it and you die. Literally, getting knocked the fuck out.
Either way it’s a catch 22, you die. Grim like shit but I like it so far.

You would be surprised. Every gamestop that I have called kept running out of copies, especially the Deluxe Edition. I managed to get a Deluxe edition for $57, not including shipping, from Super Duper Club.
Demon’s Souls was #7 of the hot pre-orders of the week on Amazon. An excellent and rewarding yet f’ing hard game.

The deluxe was cheaper than the regular in the B&M stores. I haven’t even referenced the strategy guide yet and it doesn’t give you a walkthrough. It’s more like an extra appendix for me. I haven’t really used a strategy guide since Final Fantasy VII when I couldn’t find the correct place to blast for the Lunar Harp.

I just spent my first time trying that prison place. That place is much scarier than Resident Evil games, lol.
Someone invaded my game for the first time this morning, and I was scared at first, but I luckily saw him before he saw me and was able to take him out.
By the way, anyone know where to find a chunk of clearstone? I’ve been trying to upgrade my katana, but I have no idea where to get them from. I’m assuming it’s one of the crystal lizards, but I’m not sure if there is a specific zone that has a lizard that is more likely to drop them from.
Does playing online have any effect on WT?
Parrying seems a little weird, sometimes I’ll get the parry and the counter but still get hit, othertimes I’ll take damage and not get the counter, othertimes it’ll work like it’s supposed to. I suppose I’ll get used to it overtime but it’s still weird

how hard to come by are the stones that revive you? is it easiest just to invade and kill other people?

The easiest way I found to revive myself was to use a Blue Eye Stone in front of a boss entrance and have someone summon you to help them beat the boss. If you guys succeed in beating the boss, you get revived. But I think invading as a phantom and killing someone also resurrects you.
I just killed the slime and leveled up my priest. Time to go kill slimes so I can upgrade my mace again.

Me and two other guys were owning 1-2 and we got to the tower knight. Then I proceeded to fall off the top when attacking a bow guy RIGHT where the giant Knight was doing his shield slam attack.
