Is this new? Another Sako match:
stein do you think the hard matchups such as Geif/Balrog are getting harder now with super??
Sakura match:
WTF @ 1:55 lol… i thought cammy will land behind sakura… WTF!!! :wow:
to be honest, I think they’ve gotten easier! I think it’s very possible to beat Gief now. His pokes have gotten worse. Balrog is pretty easy to me, I just rush them down and use the back throw setups the entire time.
with the sakura match… I thought so too. I was baiting the ultra and got hit
this is the second time we see sako doing meaty strike into c.lk, Cannon Spike FADC (last vide he ultra’d this one he went for another CS)
and did he just WALK mid combo???
TKCS, WALK like press forward s.cl.mp, c.hp, c.mk, mk sa (thats Steins combo)
in SF4 you can do it without the step forward thing… i have to try it in training…
and WTF far HK SA into CS??? :wow:
far SA into CS juggle works in the corner if the tail end of the SA hits… here’s my repost from the cammy U2 thread:
yo here’s a match i played a couple days ago… the entire match i control this ryu player and condition him into falling for my U2 setup… i go into more detail in the video description… basically i spam and draw out some hooligan resets to fool my opponent into thinking that a reversal dp is his only viable option and he pays for it dearly… this hopefully shows that Cammy’s new counter ultra is useable in the right hands in the right matchups… lemme know what you guys think… i’m also uploading this to the Cammy U2 thread for acessment… and yes i know if this had been a good player this prolly wouldn’t have been so easy to pull off

its still a huge gamble…
he could:
- haduken
- EX Haduken
- EX tatsu
- regular tatsu
- throw
- wait, then punish
- Ultra
- Super?
hmmm what else
all true… but he didn’t because i showed him the entire time that at that point (when i ultra’d) he should expect a connonspike or a BnB… so in his mind (i assume) the only safe option he could produce was a counterable EX uppercut… which i foresaw for many many long time beacuse … wait for it… i conditioned him into do it…
i spent the entirety of the set teaching him to expect certain results then using the ultra i turned what would normally be a learned advantage into a dire weakness… it’s all in how you the counter as a tool… yes, he could’ve done a number of things but when used correctly Cammy’s U2 works because you as cammy force them to stick out one of the few things it counters… a better player would not only be subceptable to a similar setup but would also have to play carefully to avoid running into the U2… kinda like how Abel can fear monger an opponent with his new ultra… this is all just my 1/50th of a dollar
Nice videos Stein. Your execution was pretty spot on. What was that one combo you pulled? I think it was TKCS - cr. Fierce - st. medium - H. Spiral Arrow. Was that it? I’ve never seen standing medium used over crouching forward. Medium punch does more damage than crouching forward too right? Good shit.
:nono: that ryu didnt know what beats Ultra2 he was clearly mashing ex dp BEFORE and During CQC animation… he was WILLINGLY mashing ex dp… (maybe he thought EX beats it… or reversal wakeup)
i hope he learns from this… cause someone else wont fall for this trick again…
why it worked:
- it was a gamble (with huge chances of failure, this time it happened to work for you)
- lack of experience for Ryu player to know what to do to beat Ultra 2
Unfortunately, one good guess doesn’t make the setup very viable. To be honest, he really had no reason to pull out that EX DP (every other time you hooligan’d over him, he just sat and blocked). It’s great that it landed, but I don’t think this is “Proper CQC”.
If anything, I would say the only viable way of using CQC is as a reactionary punisher. Use it against characters that have super ambiguous crossups (Bison, Gief, etc). I also think it could be useful against certain characters that rely on certain attacks for pressure (Cammy’s dive kicks, Chun’s Hasan-shu, MAYBE Rufus’s dive kicks, though his are faster than Cammy’s both in startup and recovery).
If you’re going to try to bait stuff with CQC, I would say at least go for some kind of attack with a deceptive + on block (cl.mp, or maybe even the slide after hooligan). But really, any bait you attempt is a PURE guess and will rarely work out for you against any player with even an ounce of patience. Sure, you can theoretically condition someone into doing something you want them to do, but there’s still no guarantee that they’ll do it every time–hence, the guess.
I think the best thing CQC brings to Cammy’s game is the “fear mongering” that you mention, but it doesn’t require that you actually activate the ultra to get results. Choose U2 and I guarantee any semi-intelligent player will think twice about getting too hasty with his offense. Of course, they can always empty jump the hell out of you or condition you into foolishly activating the ultra, as well.
Was this Sako match posted before?

sako is ridiculously good. who is this guy anyways?
He’s a 2d fighting game legend on par with Daigo. That Sako vid featuring Gameinn (Ken) btw is more than likely Daigo too.
Yeah, apparently Sako was also GOD of Vampire Saviour. But he never plays arcade or in tourneys. he apparently is a console guy when it comes to SFIV. Not sure why. that’s why we never hear of himat tourneys or anything.

a friend told me he just doesnt live near an arcade
sako probably doesn’t live near a big city then. the only time I can’t find an arcade to play at while in japan is when I’m in a smaller city/town.
Sako is known for being the only person in the world to have good enough execution to do some combo with Bulleta in Vampire Savior.
I think, in Japan, Sako is on top of the fighting game god pyramid. Mago, Daigo etc are just Pillars…
Wow, seriously? Where can I find more video of him playing? My jaw is still on the floor from witnessing his amazing Cammy.
