Like I promised in an earlier post here are some more matches. I would greatly appreciate any advice. I know I was slacking with some links and incorrectly doing TK Cannon strikes at times, but improvement is ineluctable.
Again, any particular strategies that can be brought to my attention, please do so. The Bison match, I have no idea how to go about it. I pretty much tried not to get hit and look for openings. C. Viper I have little experience with, anything that could help me out there would be great. Also with Chun Li, when she has meter how should I play? Thanks.
i watched 3 matches. great cammy, cool rushdown, good execution… do ya play on stick or pad?
tip: use more the MP hooligan trap after a forward throw. i noticed you always dash and tkstrike.
I went in thinking I was just going to watch another scrub Cammy but here I see good execution followed by excellent rushdown. Kudos to you my friend.
Main thing I noticed though, is that your opponents generally were not that good, thus making your Cammy look gdlk. No discredit to you or anything; your Cammy definitely is good, but it seemed like your opponents have zero experience against Cammy, or any other rush down character. Looking at the Dictator match, he never even tried to get out with EX. He just sat there blocking, mashing crouch tech and getting raped. Find some good opponents, play them, and then upload those matches.
Another big thing I noticed, was that you never really bothered to play footsies or stay spaced. You just kept trying to rush at your opponent, whether it be dashing in, arrowing in, or simply jumping in. I am not sure how well this will work against better players or especially, good zoning characters like Ryu or Sagat.
Also didn’t see much FA usage if any but it doesn’t seem like you need it at all in your current gameplay.
Also lol do you just happen to play turbo users/mashers alot? Some of your opponents looked like they were breaking their stick by mashing, like in that Cammy mirror. And lol Dudley turbo user still getting pwned.
Hey. Thank you for the advice. I use a Xbox360 wireless red controller. About the MP Hooligan, for some reason its hard for me to do that on both sides of the screen. I guess practice can solve that, but man… It really is a bothersome when I attempt it. I’ll work on using it more, thanks.
Yeah... Its an understatement to say my patience is simply short. I try to do footsies and wait, but there are times when I just can not bring myself to do it.
About 8 months ago when I got the first Street Fighter "Vanilla" My friend never taught me how to use a focus attack effectively. Occasionally I use it to absorb a jump in or a fireball, but that's about it. Using it in my rush down, I have no idea what so ever what to do with it. Most of the time I'm afraid to use it. In a predictable block string I'll absorb the last hit though.
That just happened to be who I was playing. Those were rank matches so, I didn't choose my opponents. Finding good people there is difficult sometimes. I'll definitely start saving matches with my more experienced friends
I’m gonna disagree here. Most cammy player’s i’ve seen on xbl are super reckless and just throw out tons of TKCS for no reason when they could be doing other things to set up offense. It’s just so 1-dimensional. Her dive kick game is not even close to what rufus’ is. When you get people who realize that you can just jab her out of all of that tkcs pressure you’ll need to have something else to rely on. I know that Sako is the flavor of the month for pretty much everyone, but i really like how sanford plays. He seems to have WAY more control over her spacing rather than just focusing on TKCS pressure. Once the opp. starts looking for him to poke etc. he turns it up and goes in for TKCS mixups/rushdown.
^yeah im more of a santhrax fan too… but i think it’s cuz he excells in all the fields i fail at with cammy … i can’t play footsies and i can’t space well… i also love his pressure/rushdown game but i’m pretty good at that but other than that aspect my cammy is mostly mindgames…
another thing, cats are infact catching onto the tkcs game, caliagent is right when he says that if you get too predictable with your tkcs tactics and they’ll start to just jab you out of them no problem… it gets hectic when they’re playing as a character who is great at close range like boxer or gief
Yes… I don’t understand why in those videos that dog posted why some of his opponents didn’t just crouch/block all the dive kicks. Even the cammy mirror it’s as if the other cammy had no idea how to defend against another cammy. With the lack of an overhead except a jump in if you’re fighting against cammy and on wake up they are fairly close to you there is no reason not to crouch/block on wake up.
Actually it looks like in those videos some of them were not blocking at all on wake up. What were they trying to do…
There was a cammy video in vanilla SF4 where she owned like the top PSN player, it was a balrog (boxer) player, i think. The guy rage quitted after like getting owned with cannon strike after cannon strike. I can’t find it on youtube anymore, does someone have it? I think it was pretty famous in the main forum for a while
Wow, that gief sucked. Ex Green Hand or a well timed lariat would have shut u up. Btw, I’m honestly not seeing enough high level Cammy’s online. It’s like whenever I play a 9000-12000 player online, they always message me saying they don’t play enough good Cammys. Makes winning all the more easier.
Anyone trying to get some high level Cammy practice, or needs practice with other match-ups, find me on Xbox Live.
