Delta Red Debriefing: SSF4 Cammy Video Thread

This is not true. You have to do 323 from crouch “block” , so 3231 kick  ,you get faster in your crouching hitbox by crouch blocking . If u get hit meaty while doing regular crouching , your hitbox will actually be higher than neutral standing and the demon flip will hit meaty .

Hm Im still thinking you are blaming the character too much .
Akuma poking game in this matchup

1)Cr.hk 6 frames startup /3 active frames/24 frames recovery
2)Cr.mk 5 frames startup /3 active frames/13 frames recovery
3)St.Hk 8 frames startup /2(4) 4 active frames / 16 frames recovery (in our case its 16+8 as the 2nd hit whiffes on crouching cammy)

Cammy
a)cr.mk 6 frames startup/4 active frames/!12! frames recovery
b)far hk 8 frames startup/2 active frames/22 frames recovery
c)Canon strike

Her cr mk has actually less recovery than any of the footsie tool akuma got , and like akuma can lead into her vortex.
Also a fast canon strike but not TKCS will make him think twice before spaming cr hk.

When i said that , i meant from crouch block option select dp/block vs divekick.

TRUE, regular option selecting teleport can fail if he does forward teleport … but u can also option select a predicted forward teleport doing for example 2lk2lp32lk14 string and press kkk when u see him teleport forward.
Also u dont even need to do option select . Example , you have enough time to do meaty canon strike on wakeup (teleport), cr lp (whifffes because of telport) and do ultra on reaction pretty easily , Akuma has absolutely no right to teleport or nige tatsu vs cammy at all even full screen when she has ultra. If the opponent is smart enough to know you are going for an os , and does DP , that just means hes outguessing you , and this doesnt concern cammy anymore .The aim is not to make him think he has no choice , but to reduce his choices to a binary one , block or random dp .

It doesnt work vs cammy , as u can just do you CS a little bit higher and have the same result.

No way a normal with 12 frames startup can be considered semi-decent, also any crouching kick goes under the 2nd hit even well spaced. When i asked Tokido what does he think about the cammy matchup or why its hard , first thing he andswered was this ’ far hk hits 1 hit ’

I think you are basically mixing up your personal experience against someone with better footsies and the Cammy/Gouki matchup. Gouki cant really keep cammy away if you know what to do and its way harder for gouki than it is for cammy. I

wow i really gotta get my knowledge up

HEY Stein!..you startin somethin? JK you get me alot these days.

Against akuma just punish his sweep. It’s -7/-8/-9 on block depending on where it hits and all of those can be punished by cMK->SA or just plain SA. Akuma’s like to keep that one under wraps but I’m almost complete in my cammy brainwashing.

Not sure what your having trouble with, the zoning or the Vortex?
Personally the zoning gives me a lot more trouble than the vortex. Than I have to check distance constantly and drum EX SA and Ultra than pay attention to see if he moves forward so I have to start watching for footsies all while making sure to react quickly to jumps. That’s a lot more mind fucking to me than reading whether it’s a crossup, palm or empty jump.

Ultra punishing for me tends to be kinda a mind game. If he teleports one way I’m drumming the punish and if he teleports the other way I try to get SA. However, because of that drumming you gotta be careful as when he goes to your other side you’ll keep those inputs buffered and might get a uppercut accidently.

When I say play footsies, your really just trying to bait one whiff. Ed ma is probably a lot better at footsies than the akuma’s I generally play against though so some of that probably has to do with the player. 1 whiff is all it takes and if your on point that’s a cr. MK > SA. I need to check if cammy’s super punishes his sweep, that would be pretty powerful if that’s the case. Also remember if he doesn’t have Demon you can Focus his Sweep into a dash and punish with a cr. LK combo. Also i understand spacing the second hit thing with st. RH, shit is MAD annoying as I swear that move eats anything underneath it. The way you combat this is throw a normal out so he moves forward into it. I know it SEEMS like he’s eating your poke but what is really happening is your extending your vulnerable hitbox before you get to your active frames, have to make him run into your active frames.

You shouldn’t be trying to reversal EVER when knocked down by akuma, it just isn’t smart. Odds his crap will beat you is just not worth it. Gotta block and do your best to tech out. 1 block and some smart OS Teching can go a long way. Also if you block something like a cr. MP try backdashing mid blockstring. You might eat a sweep, but it’s not that much damage and if you ever block the sweep that’s the end of his blockstring. Gotta try your options.

I agree it’s not easy, but definately not a matchup against cammy.

When you get on him most good players will attempt a block or teleport than attempt either a dp FADC, OS Tech, or Backdash if they blocked the divekick. Be prepared and plan accordingly. You have to make some right guesses, but your right guesses lead to 50%+ combo’s and as long as you don’t run into demon that’s pretty good stuff.

Honestly the matchup seems very slightly in Cammy’s favor imo, but if you get hit by demon scoop it up and go to the next round cuz you lost a lot of chances to guess right.

It’s beginning.

2 - 0 for Sako.

3-1, tokido just destroyed Sako with his dive kick.

3-2, Tokido spams dive kicks and won the last round by perfect.

Oh god, 3-2. Tokido BRINGING IT BACK.

Yes, I’m a Cammy player. Just haven’t been on the Cammy threads in forever. Sako makes me want to main Cammy again. =3

3-3, Tokido destroyed Sako again, he learned the matchup online.

4-3 for Sako !!!§§§§§§§§§§§§§!!! That was close, and Akuma’s ultra 1 is broken.

Sako can’t block against Tokido’s cross up divekicks.

5-4 for sako, Sako baited Tokido’s ultra and teleport.

6-4 Sako; Hitting those Spiral Arrow FADC combos! STYLING ON TOKIDO

When you see Sako nailing those links combos every fucking time, you’d think that Cammy has some kind of target combo, where you just have to push the buttons and forget about timing.

6-5 for Sako, Tokido won the last match thanks to his broken ultra. >_<

6-6, Tokido zoned with his air fireballs and escaped corner with his air tatsu.

^ Yeah, Sako completely had that match. He was about to get a perfect too. That was bullshit.

6-6; even again.

Crazy comeback by Sako.

7-6 Sako

7-6 for Sako. With a perfect !!!§§§§§§§!!! Tokido zoned the same way again.

9-7 for Sako, Tokido uses a lot more shoryuken than in the beginning.
