Delta Red Basic Training: Moves, attributes, and combos

for the characters that it works on (not dependent on crouching/standing), you do not need a preceeding jump-in or cstrike

im not sure about balrog but i was really only planning to using this combo on that first list of characters when i’m up in their face instead of the cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.lk xx hsa (or other variation) hit confirm

but yeah, it’s impractical for those other characters where spacing messes it up

Anyone have ae damage numbers?

Cr Short,cr jab, far fierce ~hk drill
Cr short, cr jab, st jab cr foward mkdrill
cr short cr jab cr strong. Mk drill

cl fp cr strong mk drill

I have a quick question - is there any way for me to practice meaty cannon strikes/tkcs in training mode? It’s one of my weaknesses in my game. Every time I think I do a meaty cs, I either get thrown or uppercut :frowning: Thanks.

Spent time in the lab yesterday, found this gem on Abel.

**CS.HP, C.HP, FS.MP, MK SA **
Start off with TKCS (EX, duh) and you get 346 damage, 570 stun

wow, good find!

That’s so not cool I found that one like 30 seconds ago :frowning:

Against Bison you can use

Ex Strike cl. st fierce, cr. fierce, cr. forward med SA = 343 damage 570 stun
Normal strike instead for 323 damage and 570 stun
or J. Fierce 363 damage and 670 stun.

Dedicated to Stein’s record against Dictators.

LOL I was looking for your combo myself, lost hope when it wouldn’t land on the twins or Chun. We’re even. :o

Has anyone ever messed around with this thing for link practice? I’ve read about this on some other forums (Bison’s I think) but never thought about trying it out before. For those interested:

cr.hp -> stuff = 109 bpm
cl.mp or cl.hp -> stuff = 120 bpm
cr.mp -> stuff = 144 bpm
cr.lp or st.lp -> stuff = 200 bpm

Awesome stuff. That has helped me already as i am struggling with the cr.mp, cr.mk link

List of character specific punishes:
Close fierce, crouching fierce, crouching forward xx forward arrow: Bison, Honda
Close fierce, crouching fierce, far strong xx forward arrow: Abel, maybe dudley? not sure on this one I think I got it once or twice but its hard
Close strong, crouching fierce, far strong xx forward arrow: Dudley, Cody, Abel, Dee jay, Gief
Sako: Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, Oni, Chun, Viper, Yang, Evil Ryu, Yun, Blanka, Rufus, Fei
Close strong, Far fierce: Juri(forward arrow), Rose(roundhouse arrow)
Close fierce, Far fierce: Ibuki, Makoto, Seth, Gen, Dan, Sakura, Fuerte, Dhalsim, Sagat, Guy, Hakan, Vega, Hawk, Adon
Feel free to correct me because i’m not 100% on these. Especially the Abel only one, it seems very spacing specific and it might work on everyone that the sako alternate works on with some practice. Also if i’m dumb and there is way better damage out there please let me know.

I give up with this game, no matter how many times I try these simple bread and butters I can’t do them. The timing in this game is fucking ridiculous–everything is split millisecond bullshit. This is why I prefer games like tekken and mortal kombat, because you can actually play the game without dumping 1000000000000000 hours to learn the bare basic timings.

this game doesnt reward effort but you gotta keep trying you are building your fundamentals slowly

Some sort of combos list for hk arrow.

The chart works for raw hits, punishes, as well as focus crumples, but not for after jump ins or dive kicks (that would require a whole other chart…). But you can safely assume that if it’s on this chart, it should work after jump attacks too.

I should mention that the CH setups used are vs crouch techs (so cr.lp+lk+mp for shotos, cr.lp+lk+hp for Sakura, cr.lp+lk for most others, etc). Anyway… this is probably too much detail. But if hk arrow unblockables become the norm, then hey, now we know a bunch of the setups, right?

jblair: great post, it matches up with a lot of my findings in the chart above.

great post dude, just gonna have to try remember it all now :frowning:

the only problematic characters to combo are standing Juri and Sagat.

this definitely help. thanks.

Di,

You can replace the second MP in the Sako ALT with a HP so cs.MP > cr.HP > fs.HP works now

Just need some confirmation! I’ve read in a few place’s that TKCS isn’t doable in AE…

I’ve just switched to Cammy, so before I go into the practice room and try this out for hours on end. Can someone confirm whether you can or not?

obviously you cant thats what 90% of the complaining is about

TKCS only as an EX.
