Hi
first the good things:
i loved the main story!!! it was great. finaly the art is becoming better again! i liked all the nice things in the background happening, sakura, the dolls, cammy putting first the boots on, then her arm-thingies (don’t even know how to call it).
Enjoyed the art of blanka a lot. he is one of my favourite characters. loved the ryu, ken, elisa, guile’s girlfriend, sakura and the hot girls (one at the left with the back behind to the viewer was naked) and Mike Balrog + Vega (Balrog) scenes…
great!!! go on!!!
but now some critisism:
The artist of the backstory is HORRIBILE!!!
The story was boring and ABSOLUTELY UNNEEDED!!! come on, the deltas are talking about one old mission against some thugs, whom nobody knows. We all knew that Cammy kicks ass since in issue # 7 Col. Wolfman remembers the scene in front of the british embassy! this was enough. a good backside story works so: a major sf cahracter meets a minor sf characters, they battle and the story goes forward or a hole in a story is being filled up. you know it and done it 10 times now!!! this place is too important for the sf universe to make stories like this in # 12… this Delta Red (and i love Delta Red) story toppeld my worst backside story list (the worst that far was the story where you have killed off GEKI. HE IS TOO WONDERFULL DO BE KILLED!!!) :lame:
but eitherwise YOU ARE GREAT, UDON!!!
a lot of kisses :encore:
and thank you for a great present: THE CHEAP SHOTS WILL CONCLUDE NEXT MONTH, hopefully forever!!! :wow:
I haven’t seen this issue yet but what the hell is your obsession with Geki all about? I mean… He’s just an older version of Vega, though his story ties go with Ibuki.
Someone complains about the story going to fast and not having enough time for character development. Udon puts out a backstory involving some of the minor characters to give them some personality and explain how they feel about Cammy, and someone bitches about it being a waste of time.
Oh well. I liked it. And while I’m not personally a huge fan of that style of art, I appreciae Udon for letting so many diverse guest artists do the backstories and keeping it fresh.
Wow. It seems like you don,t really like the comic at all. I haven,t read this issue but I bet I would like it. Id never though a street fighter issue was wack till this day. I can,t wait to get it.
The backup story was good. The issue was revolved around delta red and Cammy so a backup about them is perfect.Delta Red must stay around until atleast the street fighter tournament, because they are part of cammy’s team and if I am not mistaken, they throw down with bison and shadoloo for a bit,or atleast they should.
I love every issue of the street fighter comic … i thought that the one before last (cammy vs. Chun Li) was kinda slow … and i’m still waiting for Balrog to do something. But to tell you the truth … I too really hated the back story. I really didn’t like the art much (not that i can do better) and the story … well … why the hell am i supposed to care? We already knew all this … why didn’t they do some sort of back story of say Ryu coming to america for the pictures and run across Sodom or something. … Like the previous poster said … “we already knew cammy was bad @$$” … i hope to see some back stories with new characters before the Alpha comics are done (there’s still alot of character i want to see: Cody, Guy, Sodom, and R. Mika)
I don’t get what was so terrible about it, and none of you have said anything constructive.
Not many people like Delta Red, great fine, we get it.
Adrian’s the artist on Runaways for Marvel, which has been fantastic, he’s not bad in any sense of the word. No, the style isn’t “Capcom”, but neither was Salvador’s and no one whined this much about it. Isn’t that the point of the back up stories anyways? To let other artists showcase a story with SF characters?
This kind of mindless negativity and disrespect is really going to get other artists to LEAP at the chance to do a back up story.
As I said before, the only thing I found bad about it was the print job, not the art. Go check the old advertisements for the issue in the back of 10 or 11. The final printing was very dull in comparison.
Come on! the art is terrible, CAUSE it is not the Capcom-Style!!! when we are bying a Capcom book, we wanna have Capcom art in it (so please search capcom’ish artists, when you are doing backstories). TRY TO STAY CONSERVATIVE!!! i mean, i don’t tell, that Adrian is a bad artist, no. i think he did a good cover job. BUT the whole backstory looked like it was just made very quickly, cause there was place needed to be filled up!!! perhaps the artist (Adrian) should have invested some more time in penciling every single picture, as he did for the cover. (and the guy responsibile for the story should have been a bit more creative and put a second SF character into the backstory. the way it turned out, it was a mere repeat of everything shown BETTER in issue # 7!!!)
i think a lot of people LIKE Delta Red (Luwanda is phantastic!!!), but we love street fighters more - so COMBINE them.
By the way the dolls are HILLARIOUS. need more DOLLS!!!
I LOVE STREET FIGHTER COMICS, nearly as much as games, CAUSE we can comunicate with YOU, the makers!!! I love everyone of you doing his best to make street fighter great. keep the awsome job on and don’t be offended by criticism, cause WE (Fighters) wanna help YOU making STREET FIGHTER EVEN BETTER!!!
I kind of agree with martinlove. I mean, this backstory has to be the only one of all the backups so far that really did absolutley nothing to give further insight into characters or the story. After reading the backup I “learned” how close some of the Delta Red members were, Cammy was a good fighter, and that her past was unknown to her or her teamates. We saw and knew ALL of this from previous issues. Cammy kicked the crap outta a ton of terrorists in issue 7. Cammy is a good fighter, check. Again in issue 7, we saw how laid back and familal Delta Red is with each other. Again seen somewhat with Cammy’s talk with Wolfman in issue 12. Delta Red is close with each other, check. I won’t go on much longer becasue I think people get the point. We’ve seen Delta Red and Cammy from issues 7-12, did we need a backup story on them when they alrady have center stage for this many issues. It wouldn’t be a problem if we learned something new about them, but I just don’t think we did at all. Well, ecept that McCoy plays guitar or something
Did you even read my post?
The entire idea of the backup stories is that they have popular artists from the industry to do short stories.
Boo whoo not everyone in the world has a Capcom style, that doesn’t make them bad or horrible artists.
People wanted Jim Lee to do a back up, does it automatically suck because he doesn’t draw like Bengus?
They have the Capcom style on the main story, so stop crying.
They could just as easily had Arn or Alvin do the backups but they went that extra mile and gave us something extra.
I’ve been reading Runaways since it started, and it didn’t look at all to me like he rushed anything. As a matter of fact it was some of the best stuff he’s done. As I said the print job was shotty so the colors looked a little flat. That doesn’t affect his linework. This story, like all the backups, was done well in advance, so I know he had plenty of time to work on the pages.
You’re taking your “WAAAAH I DONT LIKE DELTA RED” crap out on the art.
Nice, move on already.
You don’t like the style, fine. Say “i don’t like the style” not “the art is HORRIBLE OMG WTF BBQ!!!1111oneoneeleven”.
I think you need to hit the dictionary or something and learn just what the hell it is you’re talking about.
THe issue was very enjoyable. I almost don’t understand a lot of the critism on this one. The story has taken a different turn…but I like it. It only means other characters have their opportunity to shine when they time comes. Delta Red has had a lot of story…it’s important to handle it and get it done. I liked the backstory, the art was fairly fresh and by no means, “sucked”. The style was very gestural.
Now if only I could get my Eternal Challenge!
Eh, haven’t read the newest issue yet, so I’m gonna lay off the Red Delta story.
But I do gotta say that I don’t really like how there are so many different artist and guest artists each time. Also, by looking at all the covers released so far, I don’t like how each one’s style is so different than the other, maybe some thinks that’s unique, but not me, bleh. At least have the cover to actually have something to do with that issue, some are pretty off board. That Gen & Chun-Li backstory a few issue back’s art was really weird to me, I’ve seen tons of HK comics before, but that art really didn’t fit in well with it at all. Keep in mind all the things said are opionions, just my ‘two cents’.
i agree to SiLLiEMutAfuKA!!!
thanks i am not alone!
you know, Apathy-Inc, art does have something to do with TASTE. and every person has his own.
i would not read “runaways” and the good half of marvel comics, cause they have a lot of art that i do think is AWFULL. they (idiots in my option) have killed my favourite character Venom off, through the art and the stories since 1998 till now. he was hillarious till that time, but too many artists and too many wrighters thaught: hey, lets give every couple of issues an other artist a possibility to try it out! so the story disappeared very quick and the art was becomming badder and badder!!! Venom was the coolest character in marvel universe but they degraded him and now he is dead…
i really don’t want this to happen again to my beloved street fighter, so i am trying to show my point of view to UDON, that they keep this in mind.
i respect your opinion and that “runaways” artist, but please UDON, do not let SUCH ARTISTS MAKE ANY MORE ART FOR STREET FIGHTER COMICS!!!
weel i got the issue and the style is original but some of the charaters look eww like tht biguy with the red eye
don’t say his art was bad did you see the cover
if i did’t get the badguy poster i would got
that one
I liked the back story a lot. Sure, it didn’t really go deep into character background, but it was visually very nice indeed. I like seeing the variety of art styles in the back story and personally I found this art to be very cool.
It’s fine that the art is Capcom-ish in the main comic, and having the different art style in the back story gives the comic artistic variety as well as gives the back story a different mood.
WORDS WORDS WORDS you completely miss the point as usual.
The backups are NOT THE MAIN STORY. It is 4 pages in the back of the issue that fills in some tiny gap story wise or shows a past instance between a couple characters. SKIP IT IF IT OFFENDS YOU THAT MUCH AND RUINS YOUR LIFE.
Your feedback is worthless, you can’t give anything constructive.
You said his art was horrible. You don’t know the meaning of the word “respect”.
I’ve tried to be nice, I’ve tried to give you an out, but you refuse to take it.
I have to agree with TAS, just stop posting.
Alphona is a very talented artist. Again and again, I have posted this, and I will keep posting:
The whole back up story with guest artist idea was to give the SF art a better variety. Also to boost the regular comic retailers recognition to our project.
