I’ve put maybe an hour of playtime into it. It feels okay, nothing special. Then again I’m partially biased to a stick with an 8 gate so the square thing kinda feels weird again.
To be fair The VLX over 12.13 pounds or approx 5.5 Kilograms and measures W 22.44 in x L 10.24 in x H 5.51 in or approx W 56.99 cm x L 26 cm x H 13.99 cm
That is a big item to ship. I spend that much on shipping the Hrap V4 from Japan to the US when it was first new (just to void the warranty with mods).
The Regular Hori Hrap V4, V4 Kai, V4 Silent is about 8 pounds (you do the math for metric).
I am assuming you are not located in the US? Because the $55 sounds like overseas shipping cost to me.
$55 is about the usual budget someone has just to swap out the buttons and joystick to something that person likes/prefers.
Thanks for taking photos and posting. Would you mind if I were to use some of your photos resized in the original post?
Added to list. Thanks.
Please edit your post to remove the quoted image. Rule is in play for the majority of the important threads here on SRK TT that tend to be image heavy. No reason we should have page extention here for no reason too. Thanks.
You mean octagonal gate. The Square gate is also 8 way. People often confuse the term 8 way and 4 way for Octo and Square gate, but both sticks are 8 way.
To all: Thanks for the support I’ve received so far and for the help I’ve received so far. Much appreciated all.
Yeah I was talking about importing the Real Pro V Silent Hayabusa from PlayAsia (Hong Kong?). I’m in the US. The shipping is $55, which brings the stick up to $212.
Well you can pay the $55 shipping or hope that it come over here in a few months (if ever).
When I got the first Hori Hrap V4, there no word of a US release. You can jump on the stick now or roll the dice.

Still Arcade sticks has a very, very high cost of entry, and going for the cheaper sticks never pans out as you end up spending the money on parts any ways.
My opinions aside, if you consider the HRAP v4 Kai retailed at $150 US (it’s selling at my local Fry’s Electronics), the Silent HRAP.V Hayabusa going for $200 makes sense due to the increased costs of an optical joystick PCB and silencer pads in the buttons.
Uh, you can get Madcatz sticks from Akishop. The Japanese yen was intentionally inflated recently with the intent to export more products and make more money than the sales made if they kept their currency as high as it was at the time. So importing these sticks from Japan isn’t that bad right now.
The problem is that even though 1 USD is currently worth 121.39 Yen, stupid paypal’s exchange rate is only 118 yen per 1 USD. They claim that it is current rate but that’s not true, and I have read from many sources that this is what they do for international sales.
