Right now I’ve been running Hulk on point with Wesker and Iron Man. I may switch up Iron Man with Dormammu because I like to use Hulk’s OTG Gamme Wave into Dorm’s Black Hole assist for more combo potential.
I blow ass at this game but goddamn every now then when I can get in with Hulk it’s amazing lol.
I had been using Ryu/Storm/Hulk as my team. After a short hiatus from the game I am back and I am noticing that Storm doesn’t fit too well. She’s mainly there to DHC but I rarely have the opportunity. I’m thinking that my low execution and high damage style would most benefit from Haggar. As well as the chance to use Haggar’s lariat assist to help against rush, where I most mentally struggle.
It’s pretty sad but when playing online I’ve had the most success playing turtle Hulk. Gammawave / Sent Drones / Gammawave / Sent Drones / Gammawave / Sent Drones
Get a nice Gammatsunami XX Hyper Sentinel Force
I’m still trying to find a good third that I enjoy and that compliments, I thought I found it in Capt America then Skrull but neither is working out. I think order is something to do with it so I think I’m going to take the gamble and run Hulk in the lead position with Sent behind him and then need to find an able third.
I either want an OTG, Screenspam, Beam, or high priority assist. I’m thinking of giving She-Hulk, Tron, or Akuma a run in the third position. Tron does some insane damage in xf. Akuma has his idiot proof xf infinite. Not so sure about She-Hulk as I’ve not given her much a go yet. Also considering Doom but if I do Doom I’d probably go Meteor Shield with Doom and switch Sentinel to Rocket Punch.
Characters currently giving my Hulk some madness: Zero, Dante, Phoenix, Trish
So I’m working on a team, Hulk / xxx / Iron Man, the latter being used for Unibeam assist.
I’m having trouble on a 2nd though, and was hoping for some advice on whom. Right now I just have Sentinel thrown in there, but I’m looking for someone with more potential synergy.
I think Sent has pretty good synergy with Hulk. He’s got a solid OTG assist, and likes Hulk’s AA gamma charge (Both as an armored “get off me” button as well as the fact that he can combo it into a frying pan while flying around).
Super Skrull / Hulk / Sent is what I’ve still been running as I look for new characters with better assists and last night I found a nice heavy hitter with Super Skrull and Hulk.
Hulk Gammacharge and once done you can do Skrull’s lvl 3. Easily a million point combo.

I’m going to try it again today doing it with Skrull up before Hulk and doing a team air combo into it since I prefer using Skrull before and it should of course build more meter. I think I can probably build one if not two bars while doing combos which would bring it down to requiring 2 or 3 at startup which is a lot better than 4.
Is there ANY way to consistently use Hulk effectively without a projectile-type assist? I ask this because my team thus far is Wesker and Skrull, I have a perfect one-two punch with them, but I am starting to really like Hulk and I need my 3rd character.
I would thoroughly enjoy adding Hulk, but I play by concept and I need to have a basic strategy on what I can do with him in the context of my team. I use Skrulls’ Tenderizer and Wesker’s low shot for assists. Any input on this would be appreciated.
I just wrote right above your post about Hulk with Skrull and this entire thread is full of Hulk/Wesker stuff. But the reality is you’re putting Hulk in the third spot which might not be best. His assists aren’t exactly noteworthy but you can easily make up for it with his ability to reverse OCV using that lvl 3 xfactor. What exactly are you having trouble with that leads you to believe he requires a projectile assist?
I’ve never really been skilled at getting in, and Hulk is obviously not the fastest character. I’m not quite sure what the problem is, maybe it’s the fact that the people I’ve been playing against on a normal basis are runaway/turtling players. Any character with decent zoning tends to beat my Hulk.
Using Hulk / She-Hulk / Sent. I believe this team has a lot of synergy. Sent alone helps Hulk and She-Hulk get in with drones. She-Hulks torpedo helps OTG for hulk, allowing max damage off his combos including easy gamma crushes. And as everyone knows Sent is a great anchor, especially with level 3 X-Factor, if he hits you, it’s over.
Interesting thing to note, after his cmd throw you can hard tag wesker then wave dash over into otg combo for unscaled damage. Cool trick is if you xf out of block stun into cmd grab then hard tag with wesker you can just teleport over and otg into big combo. Though it is possible to light cmd grab and dash jump + call wesker i find it really hard.
I’ve been running magneto/sentinel/hulk recently all on alpha and it’s been working out pretty well. Sent with drones to help hulk cover some ground and magneto’s disruptor to help hulk make a quick get away or combo with wave. Really liking it so far. Also otg gamma tsunami dhc into gravity squeeze is awesome.
Hi all, I’ve been using Zero (Hadangeki), Hulk (Gamma Wave), Trish (Peekaboo).
This team is serious business and not to be messed with. Zero provides the meter, speed, damage and sheer annoyance to force your opponent to get aggravated and flustered from the extreme pressure he can provide. This will force your opponent to make mistakes whilst always being covered on the approach by Hulk’s Gamma Wave. At the same time, you can protect yourself from cross-ups and teleports via Trish’s Peekaboo assist.
The real strength of this team is the ability to DHC from character to character with ease (One half decent Zero combo in Rekkoha + DHC to Gamma Crush or Trish’s Round Harvest which will kick out (easily) 800k damage)
Even with hulk out on point you can otg after an Air S by timing Zero’s Hadangeki and Gamma Wave for an extra bit of damage (The same with Trish and Hulk ect…) and if you get around to learning how to charge Zero’s buster while keeping the pressure on (It takes a while but its worth it) its pretty much touch of death on almost two thirds of the cast.
Also, Trish is always my Anchor because she can do EVERYTHING well (Rushdown, Keepaway, trap set-ups, Zoning, Screen Control and her damage is actually better than Zero’s). Besides Trish in X-factor is damn scary.
My team is currently Hulk/Doom/Wesker and I love it. However, I want to replace Wesker with one of the following
-Wolverine
-Phoenix
-Captain America
-Skrull
-Iron Man
-Thor
-Spider Man
So far, Iron Man seems like the best complement to Hulk because i can use the smart bomb assist to extend combos, or to combo conveniently off of gamma tornado. Anyone have a better suggestion from the characters I"ve listed? My gameplay with Iron man sucks as he doesn’treally have a BNB and the relaunch combos with him aren’t the easiest things ever. Heck, I dont even like using him.
If you are looking for an easy OTG assist for Hulk I would recommend using Shulk, as she has one of the highest damaging combo assists that I can do only with her. Her BnB’s are also very easy to learn.
Her only draw back is she doesn’t DHC very well into Hulk but she can DHC using her Emerald Cannon from Hulks Gamma Crush in a corner and only certain places on the screen haven’t really tested it out to find out why and can only DHC into Gamma Tsunami in the corner. Currently I am using Hulk/Arthur/Shulk or Hulk/Lei-Lei/Shulk.
Doom works well with Hulk and Shulk using Rocks or Beam gives you an easy way to help get in.
Y4eah wolverine is pretty fun and I guess I should try hulk at 2nd, but only thing is i can’t use wolvie as an OTG assist to continue on with hulk’s gamma throw or relaunch. bah i guess that is a sacrifice to be made. i seriously would rather go into the lab with wolvie than iron man. just a pain to use.
That’s true but luckily Hulk’s normal combo’s are really damaging as it is, besides trying DHCing a Wolverine BnB into Gamma Crush and look at the damage. I’m almost certain Wolvie does more damage than most rushdown characters as well so the lack of otg assist combo extenders shouldn’t even be an issue xD
