DeeJay General Discussion

found it this morning the resemblance is too funny

that is how deejay was created. there is an article on Capcom-unity

I’ve been really off my game lately…I’ve been ass for over a week now…damn.
Maybe I should stop playing for a bit.

Hey what’s everyone this karasjet srk fellow loyal Dee Jay player. I noticed dweeb that you have either started to use st.mk in your combos more often. Maybe I haven’t noticed it before but instead of going for cr.mp link I have seen you and hartify use st. Mk instead. Is that a safer option or easier link? Just asking sorry that I can’t get in here more often and help the team. Ohh and what’s your take on the rose match anyone?

Concensus in my community (keeping in mind the very small sample size) is that Rose bodies Deejay, and that specifically her cr.mp pretty much beats out everything.

Also annoying that if you lk.sobat, and she slides; both attacks whiff, but she’s in a better position to punish.

Any anti-Rose tips would be appreciated and furiously applied.

her wake up is ass.

spacing is key on both parts.

cr. mp soul spiral is not a true blockstring unless its lk spiral which is negative -8 on block at the closest point so even if its spaced well you can get a crouching jab in to punish or get some advantage.

she can’t change her jump arc so if she leaves the ground it is your duty to smack her.

just block the slide and punish. i say walk up throw. most rose players will press mp so you can catch that.

mixup your fireball timing if you zone so she can’t reflect well. mixup lp and hp then throw a mp once they get comfortable to throw them off.

there’s a lot you can do against her to be honest. she doesn’t shut down any of deejay’s styles.

its probably even. haven’t lost to a rose player in a while.

It’s the lame roses that bother me they slide every jump in to either cross under or make me whiff. I find myself having to throw tech a lot. Maybe it was just me but her normals just seemed to counter poke very well.

Can anyone give me some tips on the Gouken match-up?

make him guess on wake up. a lot of sobat. depends on the player. match is even.

Anyone going to big 2 this week at next level?

j. mp is a pretty good counter to neutral jumps. A lot of Goukens love them neutral jump fierces.

Gouken is even? I’ve never lost to one. It’s either they don’t know the matchup or they suck then because I beat 10k bp Goukens without even trying. Fundamentals, well timed slides and lk sobats win this match in my experience. S. HP works well as AA, and don’t forget that lk. upkicks break his demon flip armor. That’s about it I guess.

i don’t lose to gouken either, but i’m saying even because i haven’t met a gouken with fundamentals as good as mine or better.

I’m startin to think my fundamentals are ass, then lol. I normally lose to goukens online when my throw teching is free (which is usually the case), but get bodied hard by solid ones offline.

 1. Having problems getting in when they have a really solid zoning game.
 2. I try not to use EX upkicks to save meter when I anti-air, but they blow me up with demon flip focus when I don’t lol
 3. Neutral jump nonsense isn’t really a problem for me, just annoying as hell
 4. Quick focus attack and counters between my block strings give me issues.

So these are just the things I picked up on. Tell me any other things I should possibly be aware of too, as this match-up is still a download in progress.

It sounds like you’re just having problems making reads, mate. For 1), you shouldn’t really be having problems getting in on Gouken using Knee Shots and slides, or even EX sobat, although you have to be careful because Gouken’s recovery is excellent on his fireball.

For 2, 3 and 4, these are just problems solved by knowing the Gouken’s habits. Counters between your blockstrings with Gouken become DPs between your blockstrings with shotos. It’s the same principle, and the solution is the same: simply play safer or make better reads.

I’m sorry if it sounds like smug/condescending advice, but it was also my problem until not too long ago, and although it’s disappointing to realise there’s no magic bullet for the matchup, it’s kinda necessary.

walk forward throw makes gouken afraid to counter. no matter what level. once you get them afraid to counter you do meaty knee shots that don’t connect to see if they are still unsure. if they don’t counter, then its time to go nuts.

So considering the tips you guys gave me I think the Gouken match might be even, right?

A DeeJay just sent Valle to losers at WNF

Good shit

damn i missed it.

if anybody sees it and gets a time stamp, that would be godlike.

on the WNF twitch page it starts at 3:21:35
