if you see gameplay of me losing on youtube without me knowing let me know. lost to an ass chun and rog in endless on a yellow bar connection.
Yo this is the worst, I hate when people put up like the 1 match where they win when you’d been bodying them too.
i didn’t body them before, but if you see the replay you’ll see how bad they are.
popo187 was the rog and he was mashing jab harder than PR rog at Final Round
and i forgot the chun. kept doing bullshit hazanshu gimmicks and i couldn’t react on the connection and when i did it didn’t even come out.
popo had the nerve to tell me i’m mad. if i had the replays i would put the input on and see a lot of blue fists in the input lmao
its all good. i laughed at it all after.
That’s pretty much all we can do. I had a similar thing happen to me with a Fei Long using crouch fierce all day. Is it just me or is Dee Jay a character who suffers more than others from laggy conditions? I feel like my loss ratio skyrockets whenever lag hits.
my game is reliant on my reactions because i can’t let many opportunities go by.
upkicks have two active frames per kick so you have to react late to make it connect properly.
we don’t have bullshit to run to so lag effects us. I tried to not let it affect me, but there’s only so much you can do.
Happy New Years to all of you guys. Posting this now because idk how SRK is on new years.
I’m really glad to be a part of the deejay community. You guys are all great. See you next year.
(shameless plug)
i hope you like watching my deejay if not the sagat matchup because i have 23 minutes of it and a commentary. you’ll have to wait til next year LOL
I’m far from a good player (I wouldn’t have registered with this name if I was) but I’d been struggling with Dee Jay in 2012 and, well, I gotta say seeing your hard work pay off has kind of rejuvenated me.
General Question,
I have been really satisfied lately with my success with Dee Jay in my playing group, however my friends have just learned that Kneeshot, cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lk, lk.sbt may be a combo but it is not a true blockstring, and now occasionally they reversal out of it. We/they are not sure what characters can do what to punish it, but I wanted to ask you guys your opinion on the method of attack, the safety of it, and if I should be using it at all.
I have already decided to start mixing in fireballs instead of light sobat to stay out of range, but I do love beating sweeps, staying close, and just mind-f…breaking my opponent with one step>throw/light sobat (beats crouchtech)
Its just alot of pressure, alot of chip and good positioning. I mean it even keeps to that chip damage theme in fights with an opponent who lames it out and takes alot of chip, because with u1 I have chipped people from 100% to death simply with safe strings and instant knee shot stuffing everything. (And the occasional meaty>ex.upper chip.
Thoughts?
it is all matchup dependent.
some easy cookie cutter answers i can come up with are:
if it is legitimately safe in the matchup abuse it
if you’re opponent is using a lot of low pokes abuse it
if its not safe and your opponent doesn’t know how to punish it abuse it.
if you’re knowledge is on point and you know what pokes your opponent has abuse it at the ranges where sobat hits and they can’t hit with anything but a low poke
use it if you’re opponent is sweep happy
don’t use it if you’re opponent is neutral jumping a lot.
idk about half the stuff i just spurted onto this post, but its just something i know from playing this character for so long.
i just know when to and not to use it. in time you should be able to figure it out too.
Shoutout to eventhubs. Posted one of my vids and i’m getting a lot of subs.
It doesn’t work against Fei Long. I always get Rekka punished to the corner. You also have to watch out with the grapplers when trying that combo out. I’ve been grabbed a few times after it.
So I was pokin my eyes around DeeJay’s frame data (I do this from time to time whenever I wanna remind myself of something I’ve forgotten or just need to find some specific information out) and I remembered something I saw but forgot to ask about ever since the last time I checked out his data.
Are there any uses for DeeJay’s jumping jabs to be active for such a RIDICULOUSLY long time?
air slasher>fadc>up forward lp. stays active for a long time so you can scare them in the air. I find it is decent at stuffing other air to airs. Anyone else have other uses for it?
its just an air to air. it doesn’t pop up in many gameplay videos, but its something that most deejay players know.
Personally, I think Dee Jay’s Knee Shot is one of the best air to air moves in the game, so I very, very rarely use jump jab. I guess there are certain trajectories or moves that it’s useful for. I have yet to be consistently stuffed air-to-air if I’m aware and use Knee Shot properly.
knee shot is good, but jump jab is better against higher jumps.
i would say jump jab, jump hp, knee shot
Jump HK is good for against people that like to neutral jump over a fireball to avoid chip near the end of a round; throw it follow it, if they neutral, put yourself at a good space where it would just hit, I usually catch people a lot.
So I know this thread revolves around DeeJay, which gave me the idea for discussing something else. Who do you think is a good character to counter some of DeeJay’s tougher matchups?
I play Cammy as an alternate, but that’s only because I’ve been playing her since Vanilla, and didn’t want to completely and utterly drop her when Super came out. Fortunately for me, she happens to be really, really good.
Matches where I think DeeJay struggles (like Blanka or Seth, for example) I personally think Cammy holds her own much better in than DeeJay. Oddly enough, Cammy really struggles against DeeJay (a counter-pick I won’t have to worry about).
My intentions weren’t to counter-pick, just play characters I like. But in the end, the characters I like ended up being decent counter-picks (imo anyway).
LUCKY ME.
So do you guys have anyone else in mind in terms of counter-picking?
akuma would be my counterpick because i need to counterpick blanka. i can beat ass blankas, and can get at least one game off the good ones.
Im a new deejay Player and i was wondering
were in Ex Dread kicks is invincible to projectiles?
