I am definitely going to try yang, yun, and whoever else they put in. I really need to get good with a secondary, cuz some matchups are just too difficult. I play DJ and T Hawk, but I have a hard time with Akuma, Boxer, and Adon, and honda too. T hawk is good vs. Adon, but idk.
I mess around with a bunch of different characters, and for sure I’m going to mess around with the new characters, but no way I’m going to drop DJ. The way I see it is that at least he can’t get any worse lol.
I play everyone as well no cigar and I plan on trying everyone and completing their trials. Yun has always been one of my favorites but that bandwagon is going to be full.
I actually like the small community we have here, but there are too many lurkers >.>
I should second somebody to beat balrog and bipson but I’ve done well without switching.
I would definitely look into Q, but I’ve been trying to play Makoto competitively, seeing as I like the more defensive approach to Deejay until I feel the chips are in my favor to attack. I tried Fei Long, but he’s just obnoxious, cool looking character but gets fireballed to death easily. Mak’s actually got a bit going for her, but she’s really only used for casuals when Rose is too much.
I haven’t played in a bit, but I won a local one at a convention in July. I got smashed on the follow up tourney by a Balrog, but it does make me realize two things. Balrog is obnoxious, and Deejay isn’t bad as a tourney character. When you get to the levels that fundamental play is essential, its good to have someone like him on your roster.
But I know, if I get Elena she’s going to be a monster in SF4’s system, matched with its lower pace. They keep her overheads and give her just a bit of priority and she’ll put in work against Rog and Bison, hell anybody but Seth and Akuma (I’d imagine.)
I say this with as much respect as I can to you guys though, I think Yun and Yang are going to be good, but I hope they’re garbage. I’ve still got just a residual amount of saltiness towards Yun and Chun from 3S and their top tier bullshit. Yang is cool, but Dive kicks get a bit obnoxious.
@Dogma, yea I know what your saying about god tier or w/e. Doesn’t matter to me if they’re good or not. I play characters that I think are cool. For me its style > tiers.
I thought that was obvious…I was just wondering whether you can combo back into a Knockdown off the overhead in any way like say…Dudley for ultimate awesomeness.
Probably not, but the range on his s. rh is pretty decent, and its only a slight step away from a safe slide. Deejay cannot combo off of any version of his standing rh, but he can combo into it from close ranges or with FADC
C. mk > c. lp > c.lp > c. lk > Lp Airslasher > step forward> s. rh is a pretty easy blockstring I can think off of a failed vortex attempt. Not to mention how quickly c. mk comes out, I see why they made it s. rh.
As happy as I am that Dee Jay could potentially have an overhead, I hope it isn’t just s.rh. I really like s.rh the way it is now, and if they were to give Dee Jay an overhead in the final cut of the game, I would hope it would be a command normal like most other characters’ overheads.
