Probably never gonna happen as long as his Jackknife Maximum remains as good as it is. Which I’m pretty much fine with.
I’ll trade a normal anti-air for one of the best special anti-airs in the game any day. Anti-airs are pretty far from being Deej’s problem
And yea, if you know your match-ups well you can get by with his normal anti air options too.
Some characters like Vega are hard to anti-air with the slide (or in general really) because their jump arcs are different than most characters. Unless certain characters stick something out in the air and lose their trip guard or pick really shitty ranges to jump at you from, generally you won’t be able to catch them with the slide.
The only advice to give is just to practice ways to anti-air whatever character is giving you trouble.
And Deejay’s not underrated at all, everybody knows how basic he is. If you were expecting there to be some top secret playstyle with him that would dominate everything you were just setting yourself up for disappointment lol.
check out what I put in the o-s thread. I didn’t know where to put it, so I just put it in my own thread. Also, I want to hear what you guys to to beat certain stuff, or in certain situations.
Nice writeup in the OS thread. Gonna have to practice that stuff.
Does anyone know if cl.mk, cr.mp xx EX.AS, EX.Sobat is possible?
It seems to make the EX air slasher hit as two hits, which I thought was all you needed to follow with a sobat. My timing’s not good enough to know if it’s impossible or just me not doing it right. If that combo is possible it should be 308 damage, 360 if it works on a j.mk.
^
Try jump in xx, cl mk, cr lp, cr mp xx ex air, ex dreadkicks. You need to add the cr lp so that you can start to charge while doing the 1 frame link. If you’re really feeling boss, do jump in hp or hk, st hp or cl mk xx hp as fadc cl mk, cr lp, cr mp xx…
Talking about salty, I just lost 1300 PP in 5 days and dropped back to scrub level. I’m playing so terrible right now, I give myself the creeps. Should I stay away from the game for some time?
Too true. I played a massively scrubby Guile today that thought Guile’s sweep was safe, he did it about seven times during the match, and seven times I tried to punish with U2, but kept getting lagged out and swept. So incredibly frustrating.
If he had sent me a taunt after winning that, I would literally have flipped a shit. Literally, my shit would have been upside down.
wow. i’m loving the xbl connections but i can’t get my combos on the xbox. I’m off. i feel like that the xbox plays faster. The thing is I assume the game was developed on the PS3, so how do you we know what game this console is supposed to be played on? Anybody ever compare console to arcade?
PS3 has input lag in comparison to 360 so I’d assume that when you get your Xbox timing your execution is gonna be better in general.
On a similar note, I just got that “EVO” Monitor, and my God I honestly can tell the difference. My button execution is up as what I see on the screen translates better to my button presses. The slightest timing is so important to this game (I don’t know why they made it SO strict but wtvr)
I did a dash U2 during training again w/o even thinking too hard about it, AND during a pretty intense match I pulled off anti-air slide into U2 to end the match. SWEET!!!
You can’t be hard on yourself online. TRUST ME, any little bit of lag will FUCK over charge characters badly. Deejays anti airs are so sketchy already but include the slightest input lag people get to jump in for free.
I GUARANTEE YOU, you lost because of people jumping in for free on you even when you had charge or missing something you SWEAR you timed right. AMIRITE???
I was playing on a pretty blegh LCD w/ component connection. I managed to compensate while training, but when you play people your senses instincts take over so you’re relying on what your eyes and ears tell you.
This monitor w/ HDMI connection gives me a much better representation of what’s actually happening. It’s not magically going to make people better BUT, it will definitely help w/ 1 frame links and your timing for reversals and catching strict things you might miss.
Online you NEED every advantage you can get. Hell it even improves my experience in Modern Warfare 2.
I have the evo monitor too, sometimes i go to punish a jump in and nothing comes out =( I also noticed that the game started to freeze recently every few matches or so. Is it just me?
Online is pretty sketchy in general, but it gets the job done.
I don’t see why everyone must adopt the mentality that having to hit a button after every bad jump in is worse then just blocking and figuring out what your opponent wants to do with that jump-in in the first place.
Stuffing it outright is one thing, but if you’ve got a bit of input lag going on, spend more time blocking and thinking about crouch-teching. Sometimes, you can figure out the caliber of player just from their jump-ins, if you can stuff it outright by all means do so, but if you’re missing the upkick or mistiming the the st.mp, then you should’ve blocked.
A good option, is the slide as well. It’s murder on block, but sliding under jumping in character, or AAing them outright helps.
