Canton that is what I mean buffer the ex mgu into the mp so ass soon as you connect w/ the mp mgu comes out. I’ll just make a video so you can see the differences
nevermind. my technique does work but it doesn’t make this technique easier.
if you can dash ultra you should be able to do this.
don’t forget the short pause after the ex mgu
The biggest thing that has helped me land ex.mgu>walk>ultra II is keeping my eye on the other character, seeing where the opponent is in his trajectory. You should already have an idea as to the range on deej’s ultra II. waiting to press PPP so that the opponents feet will land on the “hook” of deejay’s arm. I’ve found that if i keep my eye on the other character i can do this from both sides very consistently.
also could somebody post a video of their hands on the joystick for the “dash” and the “walk” variations, for this combo, I think it would clear up some questions with the buffering, timing, joystick speed, etc. I know it would certainly help me out with the ex. mgu dash ultra II to use on certain characters that seem impossible to ex.mgu walk ultra II
Jesus dude… I know I shouldn’t but how idk how much longer before i quit trying all together
Idk wat to do I keep doing the right inputs but i get jump heavy punch every time pretty much
do the inputs faster.
i’m getting it more consistently.
my first problem was nothing is coming out.
A. dashing too early
B. input is wrong
C. input the command faster
my second was getting jump back fierce or st fierce
A. input the command faster
B. input is wrong
my third problem: can’t catch them
A. Change dash timing and dash speed (double tap faster)
how bout a detailed video? Id really appreciate that mang.
I don’t get it consistently enough for a video but if you’d like I’ll do it right once and explain everything I think I understand about it

Good stuff!
On a related note, I just figured out a way (at least for me) to do EX MGU dash ultra 100% of the time:
Dash and do a 720, then press PPP. Dunno if this will work for everyone, but it’s certainly helped me.
just realized the commentary in the first vid didn’t finish.
heres a new one:
I’m doing it! I’m doing it right now! (in between writing this)
EX MGU -> walk -> U2 is possible, even for people on pads!
For me, the breakthrough was when I took my cues from the flight trajectory, similar to MacDaddy’s point. My particular tip is to wait for the opponent to be at the peak of their flight trajectory - that’s when you release downback and start moving forward. The amount of time you move forward you really just have to commit to muscle memory. It’s just a single step, one beat, then you complete the U2 motion. I guess that’s what DJ means when he says “I’m gettin lost in da beat!”.
I’m at about 95% success rate in training against dummy, 10% against a CPU opponent. Back to the grind…
i want to thank this thread…i was having a hard time doing his ultra period and then the inputs finally made things 100% on target
just landed this in a tournament friday. it was hype. i let go of my stick too early and ended up almost getting sent to losers lol
If I was there I would have been 100% hyped, I can’t pull this off yet xD
Either way, nice job
Dash?
yes dash. i have witnesses that have SRK accounts that don’t post. its not on video because my tournament match wasn’t on the stream tv. Caught it on an akuma. wiffed an srk and i mp xx ex mgu > dash > U2’d him. i didn’t win the tourney. ended up in the top 8 out of 30 but i got it. Hardest technique in the game.
I think it could very well be. Dash ultra is reasonably advanced, his dash ultra 2 is probably the hardest dash ultra and the timing of the dash is so precise.
exactly. i play every character in training to learn their flaws and for fun and viper has some advanced stuff but i get it more consistently than dash ultra 2 with deejay
