The English translation of Death Note How To Read 13 hits comic book shops this week. That’s the official book where they reveal lots of things about the manga. Also the novel (mostly text if not all text) Another Note LA comes out this week in comic book shops too. That one’s a prequel story of L working with that FBI agent’s girlfriend who Yagami Light killed in the manga (her name escapes me right now, maybe I need the Shinigami eyes ROFL). Good week for Death Note fans!

I finished reading Death Note: Another Note, the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases a couple of weeks ago, I just kept forgetting to mention it here.
For those that may not know this is a novel that describes the events surrounding Misora Naomi’s meeting with L and when they worked together to solve the LA BB Murder case, like Naomi mentioned in the manga.
The story is considered canon, it is even mentioned in the “How To Read” book. LOL while I was reading the “How To Read” book there’s a massive timeline that describes when all of the major plot points took place. When I got to the part that mentioned the BB Murder Cases book I stopped reading that book because I didn’t want it spoiled for me, but “How To Read” doesn’t spoil anything really. 
This book was great! It was written from Mello’s perspective and he’s pretty damn funny! There was a touch of Shinigamis in the story and I didn’t even expect that much. The ending was a real surprise, I didn’t see that coming! This book is a must for Death Note fans, you’ll get a kick out of it.
I’m almost done with the “How To Read” book. I’ll probably be done in a few weeks. I did skip ahead in the book to the very first preliminary Death Note story. LOL originally there was a Death Note Eraser, like if you used it to erase someone’s name in the Death Note they would come back to life! Dang man, after reading the BB Murder Cases I wished they would of used that to bring Misora back to life. :sad: Ah well… :looney:
Was watching Full Metal Panic Second Raid and on the sixth episode there’s a cameo of L! You can see Misa, Light and his father too from the back! :lovin:
Death Note is one of the best, most epic stories ever. Like all Manga-based Anime, the Manga is better. I would recommend the Manga along with the Anime.

I love Death Note. That and Fighting Spirit (aka Hajime no Ippo) are my two favourite series.
Really after you-know-what happens, the series goes down hill because it seems so implausible. I just imagined they had o through v in their little mutant academy. unworthy opponents. all of em.
I just read “Another Note” on a car trip.
8 hours never went by so fast. The book is fairly short, but I stopped to try to decipher things for myself.
As far as the conclusion goes, I was right! I won’t delve into details for those that haven’t read it.
I do find it a bit odd that L ultimately relied so heavily on someone else. He really contributed hardly anything to the situation. Tidbits of information that Naomi could have gotten herself. Unless I missed something, all he did was take information behind that microphone instead of helping to solve the case. Unless he was absolutely sure that his opponent would slip up…
Regardless, I love how the last little fragmented paragraph referencing Kira.

Death Note is great, Cartoon Network is almost at the end of the dub.
There’s another ending? I liked the original ending, but they didn’t show what happend to Near and the others.
it’s not another ending, it’s just another episode that touches up on some things in the plot.

Update talk about deathnote again and how awesome of a manga/anime it is. How many live action movies are there and please tell me where i can find them all.
I own the DVD Collection Boxset and I found the first half of the series far better than the second half. The Mello/Near arc wasn’t nearly as compelling and interesting as L’s arc.
It’s over isn’t it? What is there to talk about.
Recently watched the Drama 2015 series. Great stuff.
The netflix version is not worth talking about.
