To me Josh Brollin’s Cable is every bit grizzled old war veteran, which is more true to the spirit of the comic than Kevin Nash can ever be.

Even terrible actors can be good if given roles that plays to their strengths. Look at Batista in Guardians. Batista as an actor is absolute shit but as Drax all that was required of him is to look intimidating, occasionally say a quirky line and the character is emotionally stilted so he didn’t need to act.

it’s also the director’s job to basically guide the actors on how to be effective and serve the story rather than the imagery.
generally, it’s the visuals that take a back seat to a really compelling narrative.

Till really recently Drax whole Modus operandi was Kill Thanos (comics) or kill Ronan (Films).
Drax is a emotionally stilted, revenged driven Beef Cake.

Cable is big but he isn’t a beef cake. I be supervised if Film Cable don’t say “War, War never changes”.
