Deadpool Movie Thread

Damn, it makes me happy that someone already pushed for Nash as Cable. It makes me HAPPIER to see that you guys feel the same way. Seriously, Kevin Nash looks the part. I’m not hating on the other candidates but honestly, the only other guy who I could see getting the role out of the ones mentioned is Stephen Lang and the only reason being that he has the badassery and the face for Cable, but that’s it. He’s only 5’10 and would need to bulk up TREMENDOUSLY. Possible? Sure, but Nash already seems Cable-esque.

I wish they kept the the bit with the Spiderman mask lol.

Deadpool Hits $491.9 Million At Global Box Office, Tracking To Become Top R-Rated Movie In History

Marvel announced Deadpool vs Gambit comic - http://comicbook.com/2016/02/19/exclusive-deadpool-vs-gambit-announced-by-marvel/
Fox is still going ahead with the Gambit movie so we might get a cameo. If Fox are really expediting Deadpool 2 I could see them using it as a way to introduce Gambit.

ScreenRant made a list of 25 actors that could play Cable - http://screenrant.com/deadpool-2-who-should-play-cable/?view=all
I hadn’t even thought of Henry Rollins. Some of the others are just bizarre choices.

You know a movie or a project is good when someone says “Fuck Retirement” when it comes to wanting to show up in future installments.

Glad somebody fuckin said it. lol

I don’t know one wrestler who is a decent actor out of the ring

That’s because contrary to popular belief, wrestling and acting require very different skill sets.

Passable isn’t decent. Rock is fine in the roles he’s been in. He’d suck in anything needing emotional range.

Which is why you don’t hire the Rock for Emotional Range. You hire him because you got something coming out in Summer and you need someone to blow shit the fuck up.

He was fine as The Russian in the terrible Punisher movie. He doesn’t need to have a ton of lines to be Cable, just yelling, the occasional quip here and there, and action scenes. Also, you act like it is impossible for people to improve as actors.

(I’d say the Edge was a good actor on Haven before I stopped watching it, but I’m biased towards Syfy, so…)

That’s rather the problem with you guys already obsessing over who is going to be Cable: beyond just typically setting yourself up for disappointment regardless of whom gets cast, there’s basically a divide between “good actor” and “person who is as tall and muscular as Cable”, with them being practically mutually exclusive choices at this point. It’s pretty funny, too, since in the movie this thread is actually about rather than the sequel that won’t be out for probably two more years, the same thing happened with Colossus on a more minor level that could actually fixed easily with CGI and other editing: they cast a guy who was tall enough to be him, but they also cast a different guy to provide the authentic Russian accent in his voice.

If Stephen Lang could steal Kevin Nash’s muscles–note: if there is fanfiction about this eventually, I am not blame–or Kevin Nash could steal Stephan Lang’s acting chops, then this would be easily solved for people being absolute sticklers about height and muscle mass, but it likely won’t be unless maybe they find some complete unknown that virtually everyone is going to give shit until the trailers or second movie drops anyway.

P.S. Saying Cable doesn’t need to have a ton of lines is pretty fucking stupid given that he’s very likely going to end up being effective co-star of sequel unless they save that for a third movie and that, even as someone who has never read a single Deadpool & Cable issue, it’s pretty clear that he and Deadpool banter with each other a lot. Guess they could change all the verbal banter to him being a mime though. That would work and totally not piss anyone off, just like when they sowed Deadpool’s mouth shut in that good movie known as Wolverine: Origins.

On top of that even if he could improve, Kevin Nash as the straight man…no. This isn’t 1995 and it didn’t even work then.

All we’ve been told is that Cable will be in a sequel. They never said for how long though. It’s not insane to assume that the movie will still mostly be about Deadpool with Cable showing up at specific moments. Take the High Moon Studios Deadpool game for example, yeah yeah Waypool whatever, but it was a Deadpool game first and Deadpool+Cable second, Cable was in it for maybe 30% tops. It depends on whether it’s a Deadpool movie or a Cable and Deadpool movie.

(Fair enough, I guess.)

That said, despite the logic of that, you already know people are going to be disappointed if the sequel movie isn’t essentially Deadpool & Cable despite that not being what was explicitly promised to us. People are irrational after all.

I wonder if he’ll display any when he voices a character in the next upcoming Disney Movie Moana later this year.

I feel like he didn’t look fucked up enough post-transformation.

He didn’t have the peeling flesh or horrific mashed potatoe face. He looked like a handsome burn victim, not like zombie skinned freak.

Which isn’t really far off from how he’s been portrayed at times in the comics. I believe “Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar-Pei” is now how he canonically looks like in the 616.

Those random times you miss Liefeld art…

Love you Ryan.

It’s at varying degrees but I don’t recall him looking that well in the comics, even recent ones.

I’d rather they went with as sickening as possible.

Even said “Ryan Reynolds + Shar Pei” looks more fucked up:

They really pussied out.

Hey it’s still Fox. If that’s the only thing to really go bad in the movie, I’ll take that win all day.
