He has to be jacked though, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Like that one guy said, he has to be as swole or more swole than Colossus. Anything lesser than that would be a disservice. Hugh Jackman was able to get away with his height for Wolverine because he embodied the role and, when you really think about, portraying Wolverine as a 5’3 killing machine in a movie is a much different approach than in the comics.
I never know being a wall of muscle was so essential to Cable. I’ll take any musclar old guy to be him. Who cares if the actor ain’t built like Batista.
Dolph Lundgren is a pretty big dude, i mean he’s not the rock big but he’s definitely a big dude
Have…you not seen Cable? He’s a big guy. I’m not asking him to be the Rock but, as was mentioned, he needs to have a lot of size to him. It’s all about authenticity and doing the character justice by the comics.
I find his size to be irrelevant. I rather not have the actor who plays Cable look like he was drawn by Liefield.
Hemsworth isn’t big, and he played Thor.
Any actor can be pumped full of roids for a role.
If anybody read the recent Split Second Cable/Deadpool mini-series, ther’s a nod to an older story (Cable & Deadpool 042 (2007) / Deadpool & Cable: Split Second 006 (2016)
LMAO Deadpool went full Kanye
Deadpool sidekick auditions
They actually made him a suit

They actually made him a suit
Oh man it’s weird seeing a fat guy in a Deadpool suit.
Just saw it, never laughed so hard throughout a movie in ages. I cannot believe Jay Cartwright was the big mysterious cameo lol that shit caught me offguard as hell. Still cant believe he was in there. Hope it does well enough that the sequel has a big budget and they can afford somebody to do Cable justice.
Who the hell was Carano playing? that bitch was super solid to fuck Colossus around like that. Also the jokes, oh lord the jokes. YOUR POOR WIFE!
Carano was playing Angel Dust.
I think I found a perfect candidate for Cable. Kevin FUCKING Nash!

And you wouldn’t need to CGI anything about him or have him wear stilts like they did for the guy who played Colossus. Nash is 6’9, 295 pounds.
Naw no fucking wrestlers, Warrior died, there is absolute no need to touch that pool of aids for anything except summary execution for sake of lols. Look at the shit stains the Rock leave when he touches anything.
What are you even talking about, lmao.

@JohnGrimm been championing for him to be Cable in this thread. Nash has the size, age and experience enough an actor to pull it off.
(I can understand being hesitant about wrestlers acting outside of wrestling given how many of them have acted poorly in already poor movies, but ironically, Kevin Nash actually seems like one of the better ones, if not one of the best of the ones who have done so.)
Granted, that’s still not saying much, relatively speaking, but if we’re going to continue to talk on and on about Cable, then I’ll reiterate that I was being completely serious in that I think he could do the job well (despite not really caring nearly as much about Cable as most people in here).
At the very least, Kevin Nash would do a much better fucking job of being Cable than John Cena, at least, whom I still can’t believe someone suggested in anything approaching seriousness if they weren’t jesting.
I don’t understand being hesitant about wrestlers in acting roles. Guys like Jessie Ventura and Rowdy Piper have been great in the movies they acted in. Rock can be great when he’s given material that isn’t ass. Robert Maillet is a former wrestler and he’s done well in the roles he’s been given.
Nash also is dry enough and bad ass enough to keep up with reynolds on off the cuff stuff
Nash would need to shave and hit 310 IMO
No bearded cable pls thx

We’re talking wrestling actors from the current generation of wrestlers though, which I suppose Kevin Nash may arguably blurs the line of. Yeah, Jessie Venture and Rowdy Piper are good actors, but the majority of the current generation of wrestlers, which they aren’t a part of, aren’t. I don’t think The Rock is as bad people make him out to be, but personally I can’t think of anything I’ve watched with him it where he’s been particularly good except for…Walk the Line I think it was–no, the name is Walking Tall I think. Anyway, I haven’t exactly gone out of my way to watch any of his movies and I mostly just hear people talk about him as terms of eye-candy or a generic action guy (or both), so, yeah, not exactly “good” by my measure.
That said, I do still think he’s one of the better ones overall given the shitty movies that John Cena, Kane, The Big Show, Triple H, and other “modern” wrestlers have starred in.
(P.S. I’ll fully admit I didn’t know Robert Maillet’s name until now or that he qualified. That’s fine, though I’m not sure he exactly counts as “current gen” either.)
