So if we’re going off of the Cable most people are familiar with, Cable is 6’8". That’s more than a few inches. Additionally, why would you even bother doing that shit when you don’t have to. Is Stephen Lang the ideal Cable because he would be the best choice or is he the ideal Cable because he wants to do it so people want him to do it? No offense to Stephen Lang, he’s a fine actor and in a vacuum he would be a good Cable, but the second you stand him next to Ryan Reynolds you have problems. Even if you add a couple inches to him, he’s still going to be awkwardly proportioned standing next to someone who is actually that height. So what, do CG or something? Why even bother adding to the budget? Why try to do awkward filming tricks? Why not just get a mother fucker who is that size?

Unless they want to go the Colossus route again and pay both an actor who looks right and a VA who sounds right, I’d rather take the actor who can perform the role better over someone who looks the part perfectly.

In this day and age, not being a previous actor doesn’t mean shit. Batista had ZERO acting experience before doing Guardians of the Galaxy but took lessons and ended up being one of the best characters in that movie. Also, Kevin Nash has been in tons of movies and is that size. Like, I get what you’re saying, but you’re acting like both in one person doesn’t actually exist when it does. I ask again, is Stephen Lang actually the ideal Cable because he’s the best choice? Because to me, I don’t think he is.

Drax as a character required no acting ability, hence Bautista was a perfect fit.
