That doesnt make sense. A bad character? Hes had years of writing and stories beyond his origin. If were judging a character based on their beginnings then everyone should hate spiderman cause hes an asshole
I know you’re baiting but there is a small tinge of truth to this. At the screening I went to I walked out behind a lot of confused black people complaining that the movie wasnt that funny because it was all sex jokes. So maybe being a bit familiar and knowing generally what to expect from Deadpool would help. But I wouldnt say you have to be a full on fan to enjoy the movie. I’m not really into comic books because reading bores me quickly. But I going in I was familiar with Deadpool from media that included him like Mahvel, and some crossover cartoons that stuck him in there. Of course the video game as well. I was kinda confused that the guy who gave him superpowers wasnt Killebrew though. I knew at least that much back story.
I went to see it with a viewing party full of comic book buffs and I asked my one friend after we left “What’s the name of that one chick that was hanging out with Colossus?”
He told me it was Negasonic Teenage Warhead
“Yeah but what’s her actual name? Like her Xman name or something?”
“That is her name.”
“Oh. I thought she said that just to be a smartass. I figured she had an actual one like Storm or something.”
Damn, that was pretty early in the movie, too!
Shit, when I went, there were indeed some people who brought their young kids to see it. Since I was higher up in the theatre, I had good vantage point to check out who’s coming and going. Hilariously enough, I didn’t see anyone bail out of the movie with their young ones through the whole damn thing.
D00d, you underestimate the power of certain brands.
In this case, for what parents noticed, Deadpool looks like a famous Marvel superhero (lol), the merchandise is all over for him (more lol), so the movie most definitely be a good superhero movie the kids can enjoy, right?
Oh… kinda curious as to why the movie is ‘R’ rated. Can’t be that bad of an R rated movie if a superhero (getting clued in yet?) is what the movie is centered around, right?
Oh, and I might have mentioned this here (or in another thread a while back, I forget), but similar case also happened with Watchmen. Except when I went to that one, I saw a decent size family walk in the movie quite late (seeing as it was superhero movie) and looked like they were being bad in trying to catch a double-feature coming from another movie that had ended.
I saw them. Had like 2 younger kids, both looked under 10.
They walked in at the infamous Comedian/Manhattan/Pregnant Vietnamese woman scene that had JUST started.
After the scene, I glanced over to where they were originally sitting. Those folks must’ve had some epic teleporting powers.
Loved it. Laughed since the first time he popped out of the SUV. Every interaction with Colossus is hysterical. I feel like I missed a lot of jokes because I was still laughing at the last one. I can see why people are going again.
Watch Firefly.
My buddy and I talked about the same thing this morning. When did she get so big? Looked pretty good but she looked much bigger than I’d ever seen her.
All of this is exactly why he and deadpool are perfect for each other. Yin and Yang.
Bob was in the goddamned movie! Though yeah… let’s get Domino up in here.
Brianna Hildebrand is 19 y’all. That’s good to know…
I saw couple of families in the showing I went to last night. Though they stood around. Though one of the families almost left during the strip club scene.
People are too bitchmade nowadays. Nothing wrong with lil Timmy seeing some tits for the first time and it’s not like they are gonna be scarred for life from it.
