Don’t get why so many people hated on DS3. Only real gameplay change was universal ammo and that just made the game less annoying during segments where you’re forced to use those shitty assault rifles. I agree with whoever said DS1 was basically a silly hodgepodge of a story while DS2 actually investigated Isaac as a character.
I also much preferred DS2 to “1.”
The pacing made longer play sessions more tolerable, but I still found it to be altogether scarier. Calling on memories of the first game was rough. The graphics were much improved, and the slight refinement of the gameplay itself was a boon.
Plus, the fake-out ending was beautiful. The real one was okay, too.

“I don’t know.”
Is one of the most powerful moments in a video game ever, for me. So hopeless and defeated. It was perfect.
The fake out ending with Isaac sitting there while the world crumbled around him would have been an epic conclusion to the story, but I’m happy we got DS3.[/details]
The problem with universal ammo is that it takes away half of the survival element. Combined with the fact that ammo is craftable, its one of those games that in the beginning you double check every step you take, and later on you’re running around with a rocket launcher shotgun combo laughing at the concept of conservation.
