I heard Wah from FSD state that the netcode is at least better than DOA4s.
Post reviews.

Don’t know if any of you guys watch Dayashathirsts he usually puts up alot of SF gameplay he also made those funny WTF vids on Legend of Chun li and tekken. Anyhoo, he’s a hardcore DOA fan, he has uploaded a vid (see below) goes into quite a lot of detail not just about gameplay but he shows the menus, training mode etc.

Good to see I’m not the only person that thinks the level design is poor, but I’m glad that this game turned out well.
I commend Team Ninja for the fan service but I hate the rap tune as well, I hope the next big update will give us the option to change the track to something else.
Edge apparently thinks Genfu is from VF. Good to know they put their top man on the job.
Who reads reviews from mainstream sites anyway?
Hey if anyone is up for matches hit me up,
I’ve never played DOA competitvely before(outside CPU), I need to play thru the story mode but once I do I’d love to get in on some online action.
People read them, but their reviews have little to no effect.
Personally speaking, I’d more likely listen to what people are saying in the forums than any gaming site review (SRK frontpage included)
I read the end of one review that had one of the cons as having a steep learning curve, lol wut?
First VG review I’ve read in a while, and now I remember why I don’t.
I read at neoGAF that if you buy the game at BestBuy you get the strategy guide free.
FSD’s reaction seems to be generally positive, if still iffy on the netcode. 8WayRun’s DOA5 thread is basically people whinging about the lack of customization, much to the chagrin of people who want to take the game seriously.
EDIT: From what I’ve read, it seems like any early netcode issues were mostly due to people playing the game before release and therefore not having a large pool for match making. More players after launch plus the patch should fix that.
I have to wait until Friday before the game is released here
Same for me. I’ll get it on saturday probably. I called the shop I usually buy at to see If they could break the release date but they told me NO. Why the hell are games always released later in Europe?
After having my eyes raped over and over and never knowing who the magenta power ranger that just got tagged in on tt2…Im over customization, Some alt outfits is only exceptable LOL In tekken 6 i did not get eye raped like i have in sc5 and tt2…Im very much down with just alt outfits for now on…The FGC troll levels have grown ,watching the abominations ,shows how much the fgc has sucked in the lower life forms that make the stream chats SPECIAL, Stream monsters now have the power to rape your eyes in a game…They are not worthy of this power!!! homie should drop off a copy later today or worse tomorrow or ill have to drive to the game shop- my self…
IGN’s review is out, and the guy seems to really love the game.
As for the game, I was only able to play for a little bit last night, so mainly just did training with Christie. It was fun, and She’s as I remember her. Also, it feels great to be able to complete a characters full move/challenge list. I rarely can do that.
I’m all for customization, butI would like developers to add a function that allowed you to disable customization or just block seeing them (including alt costumes)
For some people that would defeat the purpose of showing of your creation. Personally, I think you show have an option in the fight setting to one fight people without customizations. I myself like to edit costumes a bit, and also make my own, but I admit that sometimes it’s too much(that neon color in SFxT was to stupidest idea ever). In SC5, I did enjoy looking at the crazy costumes, but their it was easy to see what style someone is, thanks to the weapons. In a game like this of TT2, it would be much harder, and I can see that being a big issue.
ok gonna pick up my CE copy now
…after the gym ;(

Such a tease for me, only really want the art book honestly since im a sucker for collecting these in games. Poster and Soundtrack is cool too although soundtrack was meh to me, but maybe it will grow on me after a few listens. Swimsuits im pretty indifferent about, but hey i don’t have to buy them later now. I just REALLY wish the CE had those swag “IM A FIGHTER” chains…Its not like i would wear it in public outside locals, but its just nice to have and to play around with at the house when i have people over to game. Can you buy those Chains?
I couldn’t download the swimsuits last night, due to PSN being under service. I plan to download them after work. I hope I can get the pre-order bonus that ame from amazon soon, since I want Christie in black bunny bikini…
Not fighting people because they have customized characters is going to far, blocking people with terrible ping is understandable. It’s not defeating the purpose because look at AE if you haven’t download the costume packs the game will just roll back to default, this has no effect on the person who purchased the DLC they won’t even know.
But in AE those are premade costumes. In games like TT2 and SC, you design the costumes yourself. Sure it’s made from pre made parts, but you put them together, you colored them, you modded them. People would be much more connected to that then just using a alt outfit already put on the character.
I’m looking for people to play with as well (XBL). For the most part no one really seems interested in this franchise on this site.
Either way, my tag is “Onslaught EXE”. If anyone else wants to do some matches, feel free to add me as well. I’m loving this game so far.
Many sites seem to have a distaste for this game. I think it’s the stigma of boob physics and age 99. I do hope people look past that, because the little I played and the lot I saw and heard makes me very happy.
And if I had this on 360 I would add you, but I mainly stick to my PS3.
