I’ve read strong rumors that there is going to be a patch ready on release date.
I’m guessing it’s for the less than amazing net code.
Since I’m an online warrior, I hope online will be playable, so I hope this is true.
KOFXIII died a quick death for me because of the netcode, and I was actually really enjoying it.
hnnnnnnnnngggghhh… Wow they really pushed it for these ladies (dat thumbnail…someone go get some mud)

Wow that beginning part…can’t believe they revived that same scenario from the DoA 4 Lei Fang end scene. Lei Fang must have terrible luck on trains

That old salaryman is immortal
The only difference in DOA is that, if you don’t learn to utilize unholdable moves (i.e. stuff they can’t counter out of), your opponent has a chance to “burst” out of the first few hits of a combo, up until you launch them. The caveat of course is that there’s an execution barrier to holding out, now that the timing is stricter, unlike in DOA 4 where you could simply mash mid-hold and you’d win all the time.
Perfect Legend’s initial impressions.
and off course
Is the burst similar to a CD in KOFXIII?
So, i keep hearing that the extra swimsuits are reaaaaally hard to get
Not really. IMO, it’s not really similar to other burst attacks in any game. It’s a 4 point system where you have to input a separate command to hold hi, low, mid punch and mid kick attacks.
random question cuz again its been awhile since ive played doa… In tag mode even when doing solo combos did the opponent always get pushed up higher no matter what and fall slower? rubs chin squints eyes cuz its deff this way… theres basically semi solo inifnite/loop type combos with characters… That only stop cuz you hit a wall and litteralyl go from one side of the arena to the other no switching… And deff does not work when just playing regular matchs
Welcome to tag. Fortunately revision kicks in on each tag.
Too many videos… page goes very slow.
Anyway, I am so excited for this game. I have been avoiding all the videos of story and most of the costumes, because I want to be surprised. These positive reviews I am hearing is giving me promise… but I do worry. The FGC is a very, VERY ficky bunch. I love Persona 4 Arena and Skullgirls, but I have not played them as much because of GW2 eating up all my time. However, it sounds like many people are leaving these games, just for the promise of GG and BB… stupid.
People worry too much about the lasting popularity of the fighters they choose. If you want an active community, regular tournaments, and a constant sharing of game knowledge, you have to contribute to these yourself.
Show this game off when it you get your hands on it, it deserves it.
It’s stories like this that piss me off sometimes.
Oh GG was announced, I suddenly no longer like Persona, and everyone should stop playing to go play GG, The best 2D fighter of all time. I’m sorry, but not everyone thinks that way, and stopping playing a game because a game was ANNOUNCED to come out in a year or more? That is super stupid.
I can see people leaving Skullgirls, but I think the community gave up on it too soon. Yes it had some glitches, and missing stuff, but the game was still fun, and the most balanced and original fighting game in years. However, I think their publisher(not reverge, the ones above them all) on it’s downfall for being quite slow on keeping and approving updates. I bet once this patch comes, the popularity will rise again.
If I was still in college and had gamer friends near by, I would do this all the time. Right now though, I don’t get to see many gamer friends in person. We have all moved away.
Still, I plan to play this one for a while. IO should play more Skullgirls and Persona too.
This is a problem for some people? Baffling. Frankly, the video was gibberish to me; I never learned English since I am most likely never going to England.
More seriously, DOA5 is pretty fun. Netplay has been erratic; it was unplayable at first but seems to be getting better now. Don’t take that as an open endorsement of the netcode though… things are changing rapidly and while I’m hopeful, there’s ‘hope and potential’ and then there is ‘definitely fixed.’ Right now things sit at the hope/potential end of the scale.
Definitely keep checking in with people over the next week or so to see how the online play situation turns out.
