I’d rather use Sentinal’s Rocket Punch assist. Its good for Magneto. Just do c.lk > c.lk > (Sentinal Assist) > launch(c.hp) > etc… For Storm its the same but just use her s.HK launch. It does a ton of damage.
I would go with Storm instead of Magneto. I think that storms projectile assist will pin them better while you try and run the trap. I also feel that Spiral is a good battery character and you would want your next character that comes in to make use of the meter you built up with her. ( IMO Magneto cant consistently make good use of his meter)
Ultimately the decision is yours. Just keep in mind that Magneto can wreck a whole team by himself. MY concern would be the overall team strength.
ohh and dont forget Sentinal. thats usually the way i see the team played. but i figured you might want a nasty rushdown character
Im am using team combofiend, I use iron man anti-air assist, but ppl say sent is a better assist, y? which assist is better, drones or punch? Combos plz?

Any tips on doing lk Rocket Punch lk? I swear this move is harder to consistently do than the rom >_>. I either get it to hit, but I won’t dash or I do dash but the RP doesn’t combo. I can do the lk psy lk easily, but this one is x.x;.
either do the c.lk + rp , c.lk a little slower or do c.lk + rp, s.lk.

when i play my cousin, he always mashes when he does tempest. does that do anything? i know for hailstorm and AHVB you mash, but i dont ever ecalling mashing tempest doing any extra damage.
More particles hit if you do. Anyways, its always been a MVC2 thing to mash “any” special in MVC2 lol. It just doesn’t feel right until you mash you know? Fufufufu…
Every time I play online against another Magneto, if hes good, the screen will go crazy so fast that i have no idea as of where to cover.
How is this achieved? Is it a bunch of triangle jumps?, If so whats the pattern etc.
Mmmm, may be this is gonna sound dumb, but what works sometimes is a hcf hk (magneto´s counter attack), after that, the other magneto will think twice before getting crazy next time.
Try that, or look 4 some psylocke´s AAA help, or what ever AAA u prefer, when magneto goes crazy and he is not in real control many times this will counter that reckless rush down. Hope it helps

Oh, just triangle jumping is not gonna work, u gotta mix up, try with cross ups, crouching attacks, etc. I’ve heard this question like a thousand times before… how to rush down?? Well it depends from many things. First, depends from what team u r playing, 4 example, if u r playing msp team, just keep the attack with psylocke covering ur ass, lol, just avoid double snaps.
If u play Combofiend (which i would prefer to call 360 team), or another team without a fast-hit AAA, u must be a little smarter, in this case is better to call ur assist before u start to rush, it will cover u, so u can go 4 a mix up, or anything else, if u call it after rushing, ur assist won’t hit in due time, so will be countered or double snapped, and that’s not nice.
The second thing u must consider when choosing a rush down strat is the team u r going against, and how ur enemy plays that team. U can’t rush sentinel as u would rush ironman, right??? The hardest teams 4 mag to rush down r the sentinel + anti air based teams, like santhrax, inverse row, matrix, etc. If u get hitted, ur gonna lose at least a half of ur life bar, also sentinel has a really solid zoning game, so against this teams u have two options: The “hard core rush down” or “safety - first rush down”. In the first case is better to rush when sent is on the floor, the worst enemy 4 sent are the cross ups, I would recommend the string: call assist, sj.hk, adf (crosses) hp, hk, do it fast, do it as many times as u need to do it, if u do it right, sent won’t even have a chance to get safe, and also u will counter his assist, plus u or ur assist will hit, so u can start an infinite or go for snap (may be double snap, if u r lucky), this will work against runaway based teams too, as they will not be able to runaway, also grab a lot, this will go into combos or at least ur enemy will get confused.
For the safety rush down, u attack only with safe strings, for example: sj.hk, addf hk, then dash back, building meter and wait 4 a mistake just to land a super, mag is not storm, so don’t try to runaway, i just meant that u will be a little less offensive, but this will keep u a little safer too, obviously against runaway teams, this is gonna be useless.
When u rush against msp, illan team, mag im psy, or another rush down team, u better take care of how good plays the other guy, if he is slow, just be careful from assist, specially going against a cable with 2 or more meters, punish their assist, with psylocke, or sent proj assist (one of my favorites), also against this kind of teams u must be careful even if u r not rushing, because they r gonna rush u too. This is all that i can think right now, so hope it helps.

What is the proper way to execute a triangle jump with magneto? I’m not saying I can’t do it at all, but when I’m in a match I screw up on triangle jumps about 70% of the time.
This gets very annoying because I miss opportunity’s to deal damage, also I loose badly to players that I know I can compete against.
When I would try to triangle jump lk,mk I would mostly get a sj,fp or the wave.
What causes this to occur? Also if the triangle jump comes out and the two light kicks connect I would try to dash and then do a crouching light kick and follow up with standing light punch but at times when I would attempt to ground dash I end up getting a standing fierce or if I get the dash it doesn’t combo.
Honestly… Just practice in training… It occurs when you super jump ^ then go up-right, forward, down-right that’s the command for his sonic boom(I assume that is what you’re talking about) if you’re talking about magnetic shockwave iunno what inputs you’re doing. Usually you’re supposed to do sj up and go down right instead of a quarter circle down right, but Marvel is slightly lenient so you can do a quarter circle, but be careful.
If you get standing fierce that’s just you pressing HP before LP, execution problem. What I do is sj. addf lk lk land and slightly before I land I input the dash + lk. Honestly, in Marvel you’re not pressing the buttons visually. Once you input that dash you gotta almost immediately press the ground lk. I learned this when doing Fast flys that you’re not reacting to the lk, just input the combo and it works. Hope this helps!
I gotta question for other people: I need help with guard breaking… Whenever I do sj lk(or lp) hk and dash I’m never fast enough to land and ROM them, or if I do sj. lk dash down same thing happens. I’m good at guard breaking in the corner. Whenever I see videos of people doing mid screen guard breaks the person push blocks which seems to give the Magneto more time to land and catch them.
I dont know if this will help but here it goes. Say you land a snap out you would ground dash then super jump lk.hk just as the opponent is entering the screen then addf slight pause so the opponents character drops their guard then do lk,lk while still in the air. then once you land just do sj lk,lk addf lk,lk and repeat. If you are in the corner then there’s no need to ground dash.

Thats mags basic guard break, if your not fast enough to land and rom then your not hitting them with the lk,hk at the right time your hitting it when they are too low you have to hit them with the light kick just before they enter the screen. Or you are doing the light kicks too slow afters the air dash down-forward Sorry if you don’t understand what im trying to say, I’m not good at explaining stuff. Or you can do sj.lk,hk,addflk,lk all in the air then land and rom if your fast.
