alright this could have been posted before but im not sure so i will ask this… i need magneto tips like. when rushing in and the opponent is blocking what should i do? (i play MSP) things to this nature should help. do i tigerknee the tri jump? super tri jumps more than normal? what should i work on the most? ROM, 5 fierce? tri jumps? just any basic information. there is a local tournament coming soon and i would like to not look like an idiot when i play in it, and this is very important…>. HOW TO PLAY AGAINST TEAM SCRUB, and other cable sent teams and such. scrub just seems to be my biggest challenge. i feel like an idiot when trying to play those teams because i know if i can just get my hand on them i can PROBABLY tear him up, but how do i do that? commando just destroys me in the air mostly. then cable is supering me the whole time. its just a big mess. if anyone can help in any way that’d be great. thanks
I’m no pro, but when you play Scrub(or any Capcom AA team) you got to play patiently while rushing down. Like Air/Dash towards them. Block the assit then rush them down. when you finally get in they will most likely spam that Capcom assist and you have to block that shit. Mainly if you don’t have a solid rush down game punish that capcom assist or at least snap him in.
When Cap gets called in block then do c.hp sj hp sj hp. Cut the combo short because Cable will try and AHVB(if he doesn’t then just follow up with the 5 fierce, but he will most likely panic AHVB) you if he sees you hitting the assist. Block the AHVB and keep punishing that Capcom or snap him in :).
You seem to not know how to block yet. That will up your game a lot more then comboing honestly.
^ This is the basic Scrub. Probably won’t work with someone who has played theh game for 5-10 years, but it’s a start.

I sj.lk then air dash down forward and mag is at the ground am i suposed to sj again lk and air dash down forward to the other side?

Well for jose garcia’s reset after u do the addf u must wait a sec, then lk lk, now u r on the other side and ur enemie stills enough high on the air to so u can rom again.
Another use ful reset is… rom sj.lk addf hk (whiffs), u r on on the other side and ur enemie on the floor, u can choose to go for a c.lk and any rom setup, or for a triangle jump, the what ever u want.
Another reset i like to do is… on the corner, rom, sj.lk, sj.mk adf, wait a second… then hk grab, then when ur enemie is falling j.lk, j.mk, then rom, or nj.lk + psylockeAAA or sentinel A (if u play msp or mss), hp, tempest and dhc into hail storm, a lot of damage, hope it helps.
I can’t seem to get the most basic mag infinite down I keep messing up and not knowing what my mistakes were, if any1 would be so kind as to, tell me the exact way to do mag’s most basic infinite even spell out the button abbreviations if you want as well that would help lol i am very noob i know…also i use a fight pad too. bison one to be exact (not that it matters) anyways thanks to whomever can help!
I recently started learning magneto, anybody has some good basic setups for mag/cyclops and mag/tron? (Besides the cr.lk+tronne,cr.lk,df,cr.lk,cr.HP (launch), followed by 5-fierce/ROM).
I can’t seem to Magneto Infinte for nothing, I try, and try in trainning mode, and nothing. I’m playing on a ps2 not an arcrade stick if anyone has any suggestions that a helpful…
If you know how to do the infinity, it should be pretty simple with the PS2 and especially the controller since you can map the L or R buttons to two punches which makes it way~ easier to do the airdash downwards.
Just practice it a lot. The PS2 controller is by far for me the best controller to play fighting games with. When doing the infinity just sj.lk > lk wait a little bit (what I like to do is wait for Magneto’s 2nd lk when its just above their head then I’ll airdash downwards) airdash downwards and hit lk asap and wait just about when they’re about to hit the ground and then hit lk again to kick him up and then just repeat.
I’ll try to record myself doing it on a PS2 controller so you get the feeling. I have it on DC, PS2 and PS3 so I’ll show you on whatever.
Ive seen matches when a magneto starts a match with a superjump ad d lk lk into psy aaa (double snap in most cases). i was wondering if you guys could give me any tips for the timing of the superjump because ive tried it and i either normal jump or i do the superjump late enough to get hit by my opponets assist.
it’s not a super jump. it’s a normal jump quickly cancelled into to air dash down lk. before the start of the match, get close to your opponent, hold up then time the air dash down lk as fast as you can.
The best psylocke unmashable is(during infinite), jump up and press lk,lk+psy, immediately airdash down XX tempest. This will allow you to land quicker after the tempest and followup with c.lk,c.fk -> back into infinite for 1 hit kill.
Mag/storm unmashables -> infinite then land s.fk(1 hit)+storm projectile assistxxhypergrab tempest(this works best on somone like capcom or psylocke, people with small sprites will randomly be able to shake out)
*you can also use s.lp, s.fk+stormXXhypergrabXXtempest
In corner- Fk throw, clk, delay c.fk+call storm assist XX tempest (this one does max dmg most of the time, sometimes you can juggle afterwards into infinite because storm assist pops them up)
In corner- sj lk,lk airdash df lk,lk land s.lp+storm,s.mkXXtempest(this one does less dmg on small sprites, but lets you juggle afterwards more because of where the opponent is at when hit by tempest)
Mag/ironman unmashable, j360 does really fancy ones but I do the ghetto one -> inf, land jump up lk+im,fpXXtempest. If you’re using team combofiend, you can win the game by doing combos into magneto infinite(40+ hits or so) then dhc into ironman. guard break the next guy into ironman infinite -> proton cannon ->dhc sentinel if needed.
ironman has unescapable guard break -> jump uf fp, then sj lp, airdash forward lp, uf fp, then go into flight mode, lk + mag beam, neutral fp. That setup is a 2 in 1 and will combo and guard break perfectly everytime. team combofiend is cheap.
yo Mixup can you tell me some beginner resets for MSP/Row? I only know the inf > land behind them and lk assist lk. Am I able to go into 5 fierce on that? I try c.lk c.hp but the HP doesn’t hit them. thanks.
Im trying to get better with MSS because i feel that this team has to be played more offensivly than MSP ( i need to become more of an offensive player.) i was wondering if i should use rocket punch or drones assist for Sentinal? Which is better? Why?
